Wood Harris is doing great work. Most business and romantic rivals of Lucious often feel as if they're marking time until they're dispatched; but Cross feels different, and not just because Cookie is attracted to him. He's handsome, dashing, suave & dangerous. Laz was too small time, Malcolm was too much of a boy scout & Angelo was too much of a mama's boy, but Cross is not afraid to pursue what he wants, even if it means getting his hands dirty. He's the first potential rival of Lucious that feels like a genuine threat.

Jack & Rainbow stories are always great.

That was AWESOME! Gabby needs to direct more episodes, because she's got talent!

This has been the most diverse year for SNL hosts ever. A third of the hosts, thus far, have been people of color. Awkwafina, Jason Momoa, Halsey, Don Cheadle, Idris Elba, Sandra Oh.

The last three superhero films to break a billion dollars have featured a Black man, a Brown man & a white woman. Take note Hollywood.

Once again, the final episode of the season is crazy.

Keaton & Devito are great.

I loved the Tiana, Treasure & Jamal scenes. It would've been very easy for the show to let T&T remain immature brats, stuck in a cycle of petty squabbles. but the writers strongly pushed back against that notion by allowing both characters to express themselves, and the writers were meta enough to allow the girls to check Jamal enough about his own position & privileges within the cishetereopatriarchy. Watching Maya try to hustle a promotion around Becky & Porsha is hilarious. Those girls have come a LONG way & put in a LOT of work to earn their positions. That said, Cookie was wrong for not considering Porsha for tour manager. Porsha is a lot of things but she's proven to be surprisingly competent and unfailingly loyal. Wood Harris is SO good. Cross probably won't last beyond this season, but he's established himself as a genuine threat in a handful of appearances. That's impressive. Trai Byers is GREAT. He's had non-stop story since the dissolution of his marriage and he's always knocked it out of the park. Hopefully Andre doesn't end up in the casket. Giselle & Kelly are keepers. Nicole Ari Parker, especially, is doing admirable work considering she initially came across as Anika 2.0. Giselle & Cookie as frenemies has a ton of potential. Andre Royo is AMAZING. He literally walked away with the entire episode. More Thirsty is always a good thing. And, as usual, Terrence & Taraji remain flawless.

Cotton is quite cavalier for a woman whose father was murdered by their beloved auntie & whose son was kidnapped by a psycho ex of their aforementioned auntie.

Besides a few well acted scenes for Anthony, Tracee & Jenifer; this episode, and the entire Kyra arc as a whole, has been a huge waste.

Waiting for the case to play out doesn't make one ride or die.
