Cameron Monaghan left Shameless during the current mid-season (Season 9), but decided to return for next year's season (Season 10). Carl's wife, Kassidi, was murdered by an overzealous cadet in Carl's military school squad. He believed efficiently getting rid of her would impress Carl.

The show returned down by a couple of points and about half a million viewers which isn't really a huge deal. The winter finale tends to be one of the higher rated episodes of the season and viewers tend to watch less television in spring.

Think of all of Steve's Ride Or Die BFF's: Peggy, Sam, Bucky, Natasha. All are extremely attractive, all are about dry humor, all enjoy punching. Steve & Carol will get along just fine. The one thing that made me sad about Infinity War was that Steve didn't get to spend more time with Okoye (who Steve would ADORE).

Terrence & Taraji were terrific tonight! Also terrific? Trai Byers. Andre is firing on all cylinders this season. Jussie is a mess but the scenes between Jamal & Kai were great. Kai has officially become the Kay Corleone of the Lyon Family. I love Hakeem but he didn't need to be thrust into another relationship so quickly. Poor Tiana. Giselle & Jeff have grown into complex characters. If neither one of them ends up in the casket, they're certainly welcome to stay. Candace, Cookie & Carol are always golden. ALWAYS.

In the early years of the show, Trai received lots of airtime, and in the aftermath of Rhonda's death, Andre has had a TON of story. The only reason he doesn't get more airtime is because Andre doesn't perform (and the show has even figured out inventive ways to circumvent that).

All the articles written about Empire's supposed ratings "decline" are hilarious. Especially in this era when every show (especially long-running shows) are experiencing sharp ratings declines. After 5 years, Empire remains the second biggest show on its network, in the Top 50 in overall ratings, top 10 (non-sports shows) in all desired demographics & regularly wins its timeslot nearly every week. Other hit "watercooler" shows like How To Get Away With Murder, Scandal, Grey's Anatomy & Desperate Housewives experienced similar, (if not worse) "declines" but of course they get a pass. Wonder why......

Yup. The original family who bought the house, after it was put up for auction, wanted a refund when they learned it was severely in need of repairs. Which is why Fiona & Carl fought over his behavior during the majority of Season 6. Initially Fiona was against taking his money because it was dirty, then after Nick got arrested and Carl saw how much Fiona was struggling to keep the family together, he dug up the majority of his money, dropped it by Patsy's and told Fiona to buy the house back. Which she did, hence the deed finally being in her name after years of "renting" from Ginger & Patrick.

Empire is still a huge hit show. It's not going anywhere.

It didn't need to be. Rainbow is the one who put the emphasis on Zoey needing to write a great essay. but with Zoey's stellar grades and copious extracurricular activities, she was a virtual lock everywhere she applied anyway. Why be disappointed in Rainbow, who lied majorly in college (then encouraged Zoey to lie even further) herself? A job where he's barely competent, refuses to follow directions and acts like a judgmental jerk in between disregarding his father's clearly expressed wishes. Zoey is semi-serious. The reason her GPA was suffering was because she dropped design lab and was struggling in chemistry. Not because she was doing badly in all of her other classes. And Zoey's freshman year wasn't a disaster either. Even back then she was considered an impressive enough student to tutor star athletes and land highly coveted internships. Which was in addition to her partying during a large part of the previous year.

Lip was far from fine about Karen putting her baby up for adoption. If he'd had his way, she would've kept the kid and they would've raised it together. However, he knew he had no say in the matter, so he did his best to persuade Karen to see that the baby went to the best home (within the existing circumstances); hence his making the tape for the baby for Jeff & Alana.

Rainbow was "worried" about Zoey in the same way Andre "worries" about Junior. Zoey's grades were always great (hence her parents never having to address her academic performance in school), in fact, she got into most of the colleges she applied to. Rainbow hassled Zoey about her essay (which admittedly was initially terrible; instagram filters, really Zoey?) but Zoey revised her essay to the point where it had both her parents cheering by the time she finished reading it to them. If anything, Rainbow should've been more worried about her own favorite child, who dropped out of school and is currently doing nothing on her couch.

The writing for this season has been HORRIBLE. That said, this finale (for the later season of Shameless) was fairly solid. The performances (this episode better earn Emmy an Emmy), and most especially the music cues, were especially good for this episode; but it loses major points for Fiona not getting proper goodbye scenes with Debbie, Liam & Carl.
