  1. Out of the 6 ballroom dancers, I was only impressed by Nick and Malene. Nick was so strong and smooth and there wasn't a wrong move and Malene has maturity in her dancing that the other ballroom girls did not have.
  2. I'm not a tap expert by any means, so I've no idea but as a personal preference, I always like the upright tap dancing more than the leaning forward type. It's more in the style of Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor. More elegant and graceful, imo. The girl tapper from last season was also always leaning forward like Valerie. Was not a fan.
  3. I thought Zack looked cool as shit in that tap routine. He was totally in control and is obviously a better tapper than Valerie. At some points Valerie seemed to be concentrating hard to do the steps right and the performance aspect was gone. And I think I saw her look down at her feet for extended periods of time. ETA: I thought that hip hop was terrible. The attitude wasn't right enough and the synchronization was bad. I understand both dancers have different hip hop styles but they really should have worked together better to ensure similar quality of movements through out the piece.
  4. Yeah I do think Ian Nelson did well. In fact, I think he's a better actor than Hoechlin. I wouldn't mind trading him for Hoechlin's one note acting.
  5. This show is ridiculous in its mysteries and plots but I enjoyed this episode just because we get a lot of the old Stiles back. I love all his shtick with Sheriff Stilinski, young!Derek and Papa McCall. I thought I'd be immune to Stiles' brand of humor because I've become so familiar with it after 3 seasons, but I was really amused during all of his scenes this episode. Especially that final scene where he looked so gleeful about Peter getting robbed. Heh. Also: "How do you spell that?" "Phonetically." Downsides: more slow-mo and lame and boring fighting scenes. They went on WAY too long. Scott's "pack" is the most inept group of supernatural creatures of all time. They might as well be normal humans.
  6. I love Marcquet's smile but I'm not a fan of his ballroom dancing. It's too frantic for me. I generally don't like frantic dancing in any style. What I love about Anya, Pasha and Dimitry is their moves are always smooth and controlled. Oh yes, S2 Natalie is one of the best contemporary dancers the show had. Even better than Allison imo. Every moves of Natalie's is light airy and strong. But I remembered Mia hated her.
  7. So much for being there for the "right reason", Andi....
  8. So they are keeping their Top 20 partners until Top 10? That seems a bit unfair to the two tappers Valerie and Zack. They are probably trained in jazz but that's not their specialty. In fact, none of the usual dance styles featured on the show are their specialty. So pairing the two of them together until Top 10 seems weird. Ugh, Ricky and Jessica. I don't mind both of them but please I'm sick of "power couples".
  9. ITA. I have never seen him before but whenever he was dancing, even in other styles, he really stood out. Especially in that group contemporary dance with Johnny Waacks and Malene. There were about 3 or 4 contemporary specialists in the group but my eyes kept going to him in a good way, so he must be doing something right. There's a quality of movement that reminded me a bit of Jess Leprotto's. I'm excited to see him do tap and also other styles. Not so excited the girl tap dancer though. She's not as smooth or quick on her feet in other styles. Emilio is also adorable and stunning in his own style. Let's hope he can do other styles too. I don't think Jessica's dancing is stripper-ish. She has good technique and with all the talks about dancers falling out of their turns (i.e. Ricky), I've noticed that Jessica always completes her turns and never wobble to one side like the other contemporary dancers. The only thing I have issue is that she dances immaturely (because of her age). Ricky has the same problem. He is like Billy Bell to me. I disagree that Jakob Karr is anything like them though. Jakob definitely has more maturity in his dancing (IMO). I didn't like the short blonde hair ballroom girl. There's something so mechanical about her dancing. She's just doing the steps without any attitude. Same with the other ballroom girl, Brooklyn. Bridget was annoying with her tearing up all the time and she was super awkward in her solo. They cut Justine for her?!
  10. Karen needs help. I shudder to think that she gives mental health help to patients when she herself is so screwed up. She seems to always want to dive into the most dangerous and stupidest things. She's taking advice from her patient who recently just attempted suicide on how to have fun?! And the scary thing is none of her friends know how screwed up she is. I like Joss. I like Harry. And I would love them together. In a real life situation, I would find it absolutely icky if they got together. I can never imagine taking my sister's second hand like that. But I can suspend logic for this show and I like the two characters together. Harry and Savi don't fit because she doesn't know how to handle his sulky side. But Joss is able to lighten him up and he is able caution her more impulsive side. They bring out the best in each other. I can just pretend Savi doesn't exist. Speaking of Savi, it's still creepy of car crash victim guy to seek her out at her home. Couldn't he called or emailed first to ask if she's comfortable with meeting up for a coffee instead of coming to her house like some sort of stalker? And she's even entertaining him now?! She clearly isn't that into Dom because she doesn't even bother being honest with him. Once a cheater, always a cheater I guess. Good luck, Dom! That's what you get when you get together as a result of a cheating situation. April is as boring as ever. I doubt anyone is interested in her storylines.
  11. Besides Andi's STOPPPPPPP, there is also a lot of "I mean." She does it whenever she feels there's something amazing or something planned to impress the guys. It's annoying. I don't remember a previous Bachelorette who has so many verbal tics. I doubt any person Andi ends up with on this show is going to last long with her in the real world because she totally doesn't let her guard down and instead puts on a front. Eric was so right.
  12. I like Malia too. I obviously will never get being in the body of a coyote for so long but from what I see of her NOW, I like it. I love her loyalty to Stiles. It makes sense because he's the first person she befriended ever since she came back. I don't mind Stiles teaching her things because that's who he is. He is quite bossy with everyone... Scott, Jackson, Lydia, Isaac and even Derek. The scene of Malia dancing with Kira, I don't think they meant to show that Malia is well adapted into society but to show that Malia is more out-going, confident of her sexuality compared to Kira. We will see how it goes with her character, I guess. As for the episode as a whole, I thought it was rather boring. Definitely the weaker opener compared to 3B. I hated the orange tint to the whole episode. It's ugly and made me sleepy. I can't wait till they are back in beacon hills. That torture scene was also terrible because of all the bad acting. Tyler Posey still hasn't learnt how to portray pain and Kira just looked awkward. Definitely no big drama scenes for these two! Holland Roden also irritated me with the in-a-trance face everytime she's accessing her banshee powers. The overall acting in this episode was bad. Can they also not do the Tru Alpha Scott and his cheesy roar? Why are his powers so inconsistent all the time? Sometimes he gets alpha strength and beats everyone in sight and sometimes he doesn't even fight like a werewolf.
  13. Ugh, Justine is out? That's a bummer because she had my favorite audition dance.
  14. Another thing I noticed was the 2 completely different ways Andrew reacted when called out on his actions. When they confronted him about getting some waitress' number, he looked panicked and immediately ran away from the conversation. So I'm assuming there is some truth to it. But when Marquel confronted him, he looked incredulous and didn't look an ounce guilty about it. I'm not sure what's JJ's problem with Andrew is. Maybe he reminded JJ of guys who used to bully him in high school and this is his way of getting back? *shrug*
  15. I LOLed when Savi trotted out the "we've all made mistakes" line. Sure, Sav. Harry is guilty of being petty at times but you slept with another man! Heaven forbid he needed time to get over that little fact. What did she expect? And it's normal human behaviour that you are able to forgive quicker and declare love when someone is near death. It might not be the most romantic thing but it's normal human response. Besides, it's hard not to side with Harry because the actor is so damn good at portraying his hurt. Breaks my heart every time.
  16. Andrew may be a douche but I completely believed him when he said that's the most absurd thing he has heard and he did not utter those words. There was complete shock on his face when Marquel told him about it and he started laughing at the absurdity of it all. I would have reacted the exact same way. And seriously, I've never heard anyone use the words "blackies" in any situation. JJ sucks. He's either a liar or a coward. He sheepishly had his head down and kept quiet throughout the whole confrontation. If Andrew was lying, he could have spoke up to back up his claim, since he was the source of it. But he didn't, so I guess he's just a liar. And I love that Andrew basically told Andi that he doesn't want to be there anymore because of the drama. Guess you're not such a prize, Andi. I also wanted to slap Andi when she was grilling Chris about the drama. Chris looked like he wanted NOTHING to do with it and actually looked annoyed by Andi throughout the whole exchange. If Andi was so concerned, she should just go to the actual source and find out the truth. Why was she making Chris gossip about the other guys in the house?! Yes, it is gossip because like Chris said, he doesn't have all the information to talk about it. Honestly, she's the first Bachelor/Bachelorette who wants to be willingly involved in the house drama; and that is not a compliment. Run, Chris, run. And somehow Andi was also not satisfied by Nick's explanation when she herself said that it lined up exactly to what Cody (the other party in the conflict) told her. I don't know what she wanted. Did she want Nick to fall on his knees and beg for forgiveness? I still like Nick. I do see the smugness but the only guys who will be bothered by that are guys who are insecure. If you are secure in yourself, who cares if other people are smug or not. I hate the way Josh talks. I notice the way he just goes on and on and on about himself, even when it's not called for. I've literally never heard anyone talk about themselves as much as Josh did on any season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette. It's always I ME MY. He's like a perpetual motor that never stops talking about himself. I know you like that, Andi, so have fun with that! And my eyes rolled to the floor when she asked him if he would play ball again and his answer was something like he definitely could if he wanted to (puke) but he NEVER wants to do it again. Wow, Josh, what a tragic loss to the world of baseball that you're never playing again (puke again). And that story about how his ex-girlfriend cheated on him because he's too irresistible to other girls. This is the first time I've heard someone spin a cheating story to boost their own ego.
  17. Heh, I remember poetry Chris from last season. I like the guy but had to fast forward anytime he reads his "poetry". If I recall correctly, poetry Chris was also a former pro baseball player but I don't think it was mentioned until their hometown date. He had a real job - mortgage broker. You might want to look into that too, Josh. Or maybe he did mention it and I zoned out. Andi's guys seemed like real catches in the first ep but it's all been downhill from there, imo. Which is literally the opposite of what usually happens on the Bachelorette. The only one left who seems well adjusted is Chris the farmer. His looks is not my typr but he seems normal.
  18. For his age, JJ seems so immature, always trying to cook up high school drama. Red flag was already raised the week he told Andi that he and his girlfriend broke up because they started competing with each other over everything. Who in the world is so petty to compete with their lover? Yuck. Guy definitely has issues. So accurate about Josh and #humblebrag. He has it down to an art form. I bet that's how he bags all the ladies.
  19. Speaking of Jess, I'd LOVE to have him back as an all star. He just lights up the stage when he's dancing and I love the flourish and grace in his dance. But it's doubtful since he's not a favorite of TPTB and he's probably busy with Newsies.
  20. There are some guys like Josh who seem really into Andi but I find it funny in the second episode when Chris Harrison asked the guys how they're liking the new house, there were a lot of cheering and hooting. Then when Chris asked something regarding Andi, the cheers and excitement were substantially less. Even Des got a better reception from the guys. Whether or not it's romantic, they really liked Des. I'm not feeling the same vibe with Andi.
  21. When they first just walked around the park and talked to people, it was ok but it got too much when they started jumping, cartwheeling and throwing football at each other. It lost the purpose of the date fast. And I couldn't stand the way Andi kept expressing her disdain for JJ's old man face. I understand for first half hour but she's still going at it well into the date. And when they finally went for dinner as regular Andi & JJ, Andi gave a sigh of relief like it's the worst thing ever when she seemed thrilled to do it in the beginning. JJ is also annoying because he didn't know when to stop. I could see it getting on Andi's nerves too.
  22. I agree. She sounded so spoilt when she whined about how tired she was, as if she is sacrificing being there JUST for the sake of the guys. But in actual fact doing it for herself and the perks that came with it. This is my first time hearing a bachelor or bachelorette scold a bunch of contestants publicly on camera because she is exhausted. It is her job at the moment and you don't see people throwing a tantrum like a baby at work just because they are exhausted. Cry me a river and get it, Andy.
  23. Josh is so unappealing to me with his gym muscles and that "manly" growl he loves to do. And I side-eye anyone who adamantly claims they hate losing, like they're something special. Newsflash guys, NO ONE likes to lose. I also can't with his faux flustered/nervous act in front of Andi. Let's be real, someone who is truly nervous will try their very best to hide it, not declare it every 5 seconds.
  24. Oh, I was totally on Eric's side. I didn't think he was directly calling HER a TV actress. It was just an example to emphasize the point that he likes the glimpses of Andi that he sees sometimes and wants her to let her guard down and not always show her "on" side all the time. Because that's exactly what she does! When she's on dates, it's comfortable for the viewers to watch because she's basically acting the part of the audience, getting to know all the guys and wanting them to open up and tell their stories. I don't feel like she's getting to know the guys FOR HERSELF. Even though Desiree (the previous Bachelorette) may not be as smooth or "intelligent" as Andi in holding conversations, I felt like she was genuinely being herself without being "on" all the time with a big fake smile on her face (almost to a fault with the Brooks thing). You can totally tell when Des felt awkward or uncomfortable. With Andi, she does have a pokerface. No wonder she said she's exhausted! Everyone will be exhausted being "on" all the time. She strikes me as someone who aims to be the "best bachlorette" and give people good television instead of someone who really wants to meet someone on the show. Which is nothing wrong, but don't freak out when people call you on it. But of course, true to typical Andi's fashion, as soon as she feels slighted, she went batshit. It's fine if she was upset or pissed off, but no, she has to throw a huge tantrum not only in front of Eric but the other guys as well (who have done nothing to her). She did that with Juan Pablo too when she wasn't hearing what she wanted from him. I still remember her picking, harping and lecturing him on his use of "It's okay" for TEN MINUTES or more. You can express what you like or dislike, but it's the way she does it that bothers me. Eric wasn't pleased with where the conversation was going too but did he throw a tantrum just because she did? He actually seemed bewildered with a WTF look on his face. I bet he couldn't have ran from there fast enough. Andi has mentioned several times that she typically dated the athletes... She might as well call it a night and have a final 2 of Josh and Brian the way she was freaking out about how hot guys playing sports is.
