  1. I pity the rest of the hamsters for putting up with Romeo's antics. It seems like they don't even bother replying to his crazy outbursts after a while. Adam loves to act the tool and the fool but there's something about him that I really like.
  2. That was my favorite part of the episode, TBH. I love it when the show legit makes fun of the hamsters. That's why I miss those runway teaches at the panel where they were made to wear ridiculous heels or spontaneously inhibit some ridiculous characters. Those were so much more entertaining than boring cheap photoshoots. I appreciate when ANTM at least tried to have some sort of fashion shoots in the past but the hamsters this season really have the short end of the stick w.r.t. photoshoots. These are the cheapest and trashiest shoots among all the seasons. Poor kids. I've such a soft spot for Adam. Him trying to scare the monsters was hilarious because that's what I do too in House of Horrors. I don't know him personally but I feel like he likes to put on this party boy persona but no one really knows his true personality. He definitely has a crush on Shei.
  3. Danica is 25?! I'm 29 and she looks like she could be my mother. She has a nice voice but was overdoing the runs too much. I thought Toia won the battle with her much more self assured delivery. Pharrell has a strong team in the beginning but I'm not thrilled with his battle match ups or the person he chooses as the winner. I guess we just have different tastes. Katriz can sing well but her delivery is so empty. She's a pretty singing robot. Ryan is so boring. Even after he was he was told not to do the boy band gestures, he still did them during the performance. Just so bland and cheesy. The song was better suited to Matt. Quite unfair for Ethan but both of them were just okay. It wasn't a good performance overall because they weren't able to mash their performances together in a cohesive way (which Troy/Menlik succeeded in doing). Dislike both Bree and Taylor. Taylor voice sounded weak whenever she's not in her upper register and I don't really get what Bree was doing.
  4. When Mirjana was standing next to Shei, Raelia & Lenox, it further highlighted how not a model she is. She has a nice face but her body proportions are not model like with the tiny shoulders and wide (relatively) hips. She is basically pear shaped. And I swear I saw a little pooch there. Her legs also looked incredibly short in her photo. I feel for that poor photographer who finally hit his limit and snapped at her. Tyra finally got it right when she gave Adam a buzz cut. I found him incredible unattractive with his long hair but now he looks hot. When he ran his fingers over his buzz cut... hmmm. It seems like people love Shei in person. Those CW people, that Nylon guy and booking all 3 shows. Unfortunately she's not very photogenic. In person she's youthful and fresh-faced. Also another successful make over.
  5. Jim's looks scare me too and he may be too intense but I can't bring myself to hate him because he's at least self aware enough to eat the humble pie at the end instead of blaming something or someone. I think his expressionless face at the RB is because his ego was knocked down a few and him being hard on himself. That's what usually happens to super competitive people who are not used to losing. Misti seems lovely though.
  6. And I like that Barry actually needs them and would not be able to function well without them. That makes him more relatable for me. The biggest draw is still the Barry/Joe relationship.
  7. I was really impressed with Troy. I forgot who he was so I went back to his blind audition and then I remembered that he was the guy with the good voice who only got 1 chair turn. I was baffled then and I'm still baffled now. I really like his voice so I hope he has the artistry to last in this competition. And that Gwen do well for him.
  8. I agree that Will should not let Denzel's worthless opinions bother him. But it sounds like Will just came out of the closet recently so he might still be sensitive to such remarks that I believe Miss J would just laughed it off. Over time, hopefully Will will learn not to give a shit about worthless opinions from people. Denzel and Mirjana deserve each other and I hope she continues to annoy the shit out of Denzel with her constant immaturity.
  9. Marijuana has "promoted" to no rent from her previous level of low rent. She was batshit immature and crazy with the jealousy. And Denzel, I judge people on what kind of friends they have and what they said is a kind of reflection on you.
  10. Lol I love Wes' father Keith. He's the funniest thing this episode. Hoping he would last to the end just on his snark alone.
  11. Spencer Liff also mentioned that he has tried getting some of the contestants from SYTYCD on Broadway but it often doesn't work because you have to know how to carry a tune as well. Dancing alone may not be enough. And of course, being proficient in tap would help too, especially for a show like Newsies. I'm just glad Jess Leprotto, who was eliminated way too early, is living out his dreams on Broadway. First Newsies and now On The Town. From this cast, I can only see Zack or Teddy on Broadway. Teddy in particular because he can tap plus he has quite a good voice.
  12. To me, ballroom is pretty difficult to fake your way through too. Real ballroom that is, not the contemporary/jazz styled ballroom on this show. I'm surprised that there were zero ballroom routines in the finale. I guess SYTYCD has stopped trying to pretend that it's not biased towards jazz or contemporary dancers, especially this season. I don't think I've seen this many jazz or contemporary routines in the history of this show. I'd gladly trade that Ricky/Zack hip hop number with other ballroom pieces (e.g. Bridget and Emilio's Jive). We had JUST seen that last week. Do we really have to see that hip hop so soon again? It's fun the first time because of their energy and the surprise factor but fell a little flat this time round. And Ricky missed a step in the beginning part, which threw off their synchronization for a few seconds. Bleh! And do they really have to telegraph who are the final 2 in the opening broadway number? Ricky and Valerie were the only two being featured. Jessica and Zack were nowhere to be seen until the last pose. The only thing I liked about the finale is that Sonya and Chris Scott group dance. So nice to see Emilio again. IMHO, Emilio and Zack should have been the Top 2 guys. Next season, people shouldn't bother to audition if they are not heavily contemporary trained.
  13. If I recall correctly, she was no longer lucid (her face pale, her eyes red and she was already doing that creepy growl). Much different how Jim was.
  14. Yes, it was not smart of Nora and Eph regarding Jim but I completely understood and felt for them. It's one thing to put down already turned vamps that you don't know personally but another to shoot your friend in the face when he's still behaving and thinking normally. I'm glad Fet stepped up to do what they couldn't but I can't blame for Nora and Eph for reacting the way they did either. They knew deep down that he was a lost cause (Eph's talk about going to the hospital was just talk of desperation) but sometimes people take a while to stop being in denial. I think Eph finally got it though, when he killed that truck driver on the ground. Aw, so sorry to see Samwise go. Sean Astin is always a good actor. But I'm glad he went out in a meaningful and impactful way. Another great episode. This show has become a must-see TV.
  15. In nearly all the pieces, I felt that Nigel wasn't even commenting on the dance or the dancers and was just being so self-involved with his pontifications. NO ONES CARES, NIGEL. Anthony did look a bit taken back at the Shut Up! comment. Nigel, stop. Christian Applegate was annoying on her own but you imitating her is even worse. I have to agree with this. Tyce was smart enough so that she doesn't have to do too technical. Zack was doing all the heavy lifting (literal and dance-wise), but Val sold it in her performance. They were both SO genuine and weren't making the usual overwrought contemporary faces (probably because they are both not competition contemporary dancers). I really felt like I was watching a love story. It was kind of emotional, TBH. I was wary about Jessica and Zack because they have never danced together and Jessica, for me, is a chemistry black hole but surprisingly, they work well together. LOVED that Broadway piece. Spencer's best work this season. I'm bias like crazy but I honestly think Zack was part of every great dance this episode. The Top 4 routine was nice too and both Ricky and Zack were stunning. Zack is definitely the forklift of this season though. I swear he was lifting everyone.
  16. Zack and Aaron tap routine is my favorite dance of the season. Something about it made me emotional. It was like a scene from a movie and both of them acted and danced perfectly. Zack in particular. He was divine. In fact every routine Zack did this episode was beauty in motion. He has really grown as a dancer. I really hope he wins.
  17. I don't think Harry is dry ass at all. He's flawed and definitely has a mean and petty streak when he feels he's back in a corner but he's tons more interesting than shoe guy who is sort of shallow. Dude, if you need to ask your fiance's friend (a guy even) what kind of meaningful gift you need to get her, you clearly are not observant enough or know her well enough. That was lame. Joss would be bored of him in 3 months. I get why his mother would be bothered by Joss obsessing over another guy so much. It's definitely a red flag. But the way shoe guy mom addressed it was so nasty and shows what kind of (horrid) person she is.
  18. This show is so entertaining. I had my doubts during the first episode because it was dreadfully boring but it has gotten better as it went on. And once again, can we have Clare for Bachelorette please? She's not an "American sweetheart" like Desiree or "Successful lawyer" like Andi but she would be 100x more entertaining. I defended AshLee during Sean's season but man, she's crazier than I had imagined. Wow. And it's not genuine guilt if the only reason you felt bad about it was because you were caught. She would not have felt a single thing if there weren't cameras or she wasn't found out. Clare has amazing confrontational skills. I've noticed it since Juan Pablo's season where she shut him down during the FRC. And I liked the way she handled AshLee too. I want to join the editing team just based on how much fun they seem to be having on this show. With the Bachelor/Bachelorette, they can't go too crazy because of "right reasons" but are they having a blast on BIP or what?! I feel like they could get away with anything. Also laughed at the way Clare tied her hair into a pony tail during her confrontation with AshLee. If she had started taking out her earrings.... Still amazing that so many guys came on just to meet her. I didn't think her edit during Juan Pablo's season was that flattering. But who knows...
  19. This show continues to be entertaining. It's one show that I look forward to every week. The Abraham/Echorst relationship in the past is well acted and written. I loved every scene of them together.
  20. Yeah, I rolled my eyes at Jessica's dad's comments. Basically, I dislike this special snowflake syndrome that parents impose on their kids. And as far as jazz/contemporary dancers go, Jessica is completely forgettable compared to the other ladies who have been on the show. Even Makenzie with her beautiful feet is more memorable than Jessica. At this point, I'd rather have Valerie winning than bland Jessica. She's at least more entertaining. Basically this. I can't take the judges' greatest of all time comments to Ricky seriously when they had Danny Tidwell on the show before and they weren't as kind to Danny on his run.
  21. I was never a fan of tappers on the show because most of the tappers on SYTYCD tend to be quite heavy in their dancing in other styles and when they do tap, their upper body tends to be rather flaily. But Zack, man. Watching him tap is so effortless and him just skipping across that stage in his solos is delightful. Night and day from season 10 Alexis. Aaron is a very versatile dancer but I wouldn't say he was brilliant at tap. Zack would wipe the floor with him. And I thought Jacque and Zack's Foxtrot wasn't as bad as the judges were going on about it. I mean, they've praised to heavens dances that were much worse than that? Like Valerie and Ricky's Viennese Waltz that received a standing ovation? Bus was definitely going for them and Nigel, in particular, doesn't seem to be a fan of Zack. It's always some patronizing remark like how he's shocked and proud of him, WTF?! His dance with Fikshun is also awesome. There were parts Fikshun was better and there were parts Zack did it better (especially towards the end he was so intense) but overall, it was great and the choreography is so Phillip. A surprise of the evening is Valerie. She's heavy footed when she's dancing other styles (even tap) but it works for her in Hip Hop. I would say her best dances this season have been her 2 Hip Hops. She just has the feel of it compared to Jessica or Jacque, who couldn't really get down. She should consider coming a Hip Hop dancer. Jacque is lovely, but that's about it for her with me. Jessica, so forgettable. Her dances never stand out to me because her personality on stage is always blah. Ricky is amazing in what he does but doesn't really excite me. So, go Zack! I fear the bus will be coming for him next week though. ETA: Oh yeah, Christina Applegate was annoying. I never felt this way about her before but WTF when she commented on Zack and Jacque's fake faces during the Foxtrot, when she always over-praises Jessica who has the most problem with it. And that question to Casey. Face palm.
  22. I can't help it. I love Clare. She's a bit crazy but just crazy enough to be entertaining. I wish she was the Bachelorette instead of boring Andi.
  23. I liked the choreography and Will was so beautiful during the piece. Just WHOA and that physique! On the other hand, Jessica is just a pretty dancer. She's doing pretty things on stage but hasn't done anything that wow me yet. Even her solo is pretty but that's about it. And yes, I don't how it happened but she's more forgettable than Valerie and Jacque (who started out as fodder #1) at this point for me. I completely missed her out when I was counting the people who were safe/in danger. I also agree that Zack is more introverted and reserved when he's not dancing but when he's dancing, he transforms. I'm always surprised by him even though I know he's good. Like, I forgot he actually does tap (and so well) until his solo this week. Casey has also been winning me over since his dance with Kathryn last week. To my untrained eyes, his technique is on the same level or even better than Ricky's. Ricky does beautiful extensions through his legs but sometimes I find his upper body lacking. He would have beautiful lines in his legs but it doesn't extend fully out to the rest of his torso. I also enjoyed Casey's solo more than Ricky's. Casey finally danced to the music and it was more dynamic as a contemporary solo. I didn't enjoy Ricky and Jaimie's routine because the partnering was not good at all. One of my favorites, Jess LeProtto, in season 8 received consistent constructive criticism regarding his lifts because he is also a small guy. I didn't hear anything of the same for Ricky even though it was obvious he sometimes had trouble lifting Valerie or Jaimie. So glad Rudy is gone. I didn't get all the praise he got for his routine with Allison. Allison was doing all the work and when I tried to watch him, he looked BAD. Like untrained dancer bad. And I never thought his showmance with Jacque is real nor is reciprocated by Jacque. Let's be honest, Jacque can do so much better.
  24. Is it just me or is Jacque's pointe work not strong enough? I'd noticed this in her piece with Jourdan and I noticed it again last night. She's graceful but her feet just doesn't seem strong enough. Her solo was just a lot of poses. More interesting than contemporary solos though. I think I'm just at a point where I'm sick of people flailing around (no matter how flexible they are). My favorite solos were from the two tappers. Valerie's not the strongest dancer but tap is really the style for her because she can exude so much of her natural joy with tap. And Zack is just cool and full of swagger. I hope both of them will get tap again if they make it into top 4.
  25. Zack's solo was incredible. So good. The musicality and the tapping. It's a pity that we haven't seen the solos until now. I thought he outdanced Makenzie even though she was the all star.
