Small potatoes here but does it drive anyone else here MAD that she can't seem to pronounce "John"? It's always "shon" ... maybe she can't remember whether she's going to say "John" or "Shane" and figured out this was a way to cover her ass. Hard as it is to choose a most detested individual this season, she is high at the top of my list (no pun intended).

I was wondering about that moment as well ... I even looked for the name of the actress who played Ruby in the credits!

Melanie & Devar: Jamaican Me Crazy
PamelaMaeSnap replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Do they consider you close enough to Frederick to consider stalking Tiffany? Though in my current binge-watch-while-knitting of TOW (about halfway through), she and Ronald are so inoffensive I wonder why they even earned a spot? (Plus, Daniel is my favorite 90DF kid yet). PS Have the Arizona requests for tickets to the WS started coming yet? -
Rewatched this last night so I can refamiliarize myself with S1-2 before bingeing 3 and my thought was that it might have been a Sarah Vaughn drag impersonator. Possibly/probably way offbase with this theory but throwing it out there.

I had my eyes closed through all of the scenes I thought even MIGHT be amputation scenes ... so when I saw him with the green sleeve on his arm, I thought "Wow, even with all his screaming, did she actually MANAGE TO SAVE HIS ARM AFTER ALL???" I never even thought about the green screen! Kudos. Also, I immediately latched on to the fact that the woman was carrying Christopher during the first scene where we saw her ... not sure if we were meant to assume she did not speak English or why she would not have said anything about carrying around a disabled/unconscious child that wasn't hers otherwise. Finally, during the scene at the end with all the people coming to the fence where all the "Missing" signs were, with flowers or to post more flyers, I KNOW I am not the only one who harkened back to 9/11 (and the coincidence or not that it was 9-1-1).

S16.E01: Nothing Left to Cling To
PamelaMaeSnap replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Grey's Anatomy
A few thoughts (other than I AM SO GLAD GREY'S IS BACK ... I may have shed a few tears of happy) ... I think Alex borrowed the hair from 90DF:Before's Tom. For the first time, I am so disappointed with Richard (I totally fangirl him). I feel like Richard of Old would have embraced the opportunity to be an old school doctor again instead of feeling insulted and put upon. Every woman on this show should be in love with Tom. DeLuca absolutely sexied up in the off-season. I LOVE that Vic is on the show, despite the short period of time since Ripley's death. And since S19 doesn't return until March-ish, I'm also glad there's at least a little crossover plot. I think she and Jackson would make gorgeous babies. I don't want to live life without Grey's in it. There. I said it. -
The first time she said it I heard it as "We're having an F.U." and thought, "Well, FU too." Also, so very YES on Greg and Deonna being the she-shed couple. Spot on.

S03.E10: The Rest Is Still Unwritten
PamelaMaeSnap replied to Drogo's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
My guess is the restaurant would not allow its name to be used (not ALL PR is good PR) and so production had some fun with making up a new sign. -
S3 premieres a week from tonight! Am I the only one who is excited?

Thank you so much! The house is so quiet now ... until Grangela comes on screen. -
S03.E07: Love Is A Battlefield
PamelaMaeSnap replied to Drogo's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
For me, the single most telling moment of this episode was when J-Niffer's friend asked to see a photo of Timmmm and she pulled out her cel phone and showed her ... A PHOTO OF HIS FERRARI. -

And I'm not 100% convinced that Jeniffer was not once a man. So they'd have one more thing in common (which would mean one thing in common). -
Everyone Kinda Sucks, But Who's The Worst?
PamelaMaeSnap replied to Drogo's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
Question (specifically for Drogo, who is kinda my favorite person ever for carrying us through this mess and other messes with such humor and snark) ... Any possibility of a thread for such things as continuity blurps (intentional or not) and producer/editor hijinks? This week (it was a tough one, pupper passed, we were both sacked out on the bed and I fell asleep during the episode and hubby was too tired to change the channel so now he is actually somewhat vested in the show!) couldn't help but notice such gems as ... Tom asks Darcey what kind of wine she wants. She responds "whatever you're having." Next shot, she has white and he has red. NEXT next shot they're both drinking red. ... Tim, Jeniffer, Violet in the cab. Then Tim, Jeniffer in the cab with an empty car seat. Then Tim, Jeniffer and Violet in the cab. I checked a few times, she could not have been leaning THAT far forward to not be in the shot. Or, maybe my favorite since it wasn't continuity so much as "srsly???" ... Poor Caesar's luggage being lost ... and our seeing him searching for it on the carousel ... a completely empty carousel. In a completely empty entire section of luggage carousels. How long had he been standing there waiting for his luggage? AND WHO PUTS THE ENGAGEMENT RING IN A CHECKED BAG? AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIS EARS? WHY DON'T THEY HAVE ANY CARTILEGE. (Sorry, that's not continuity). Hubby is all in for next week. The only big decision is what we'll use for "do shots when they f*ck up continuity". Will take suggestions. -
Just wondering ... has anyone coined the term "vaginity" yet? ETA to answer my own question, it's in the Urban Dictionary.

Everyone Kinda Sucks, But Who's The Worst?
PamelaMaeSnap replied to Drogo's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
My nomination for side character: The computer program that IS "Maria" and responds to each pawn's questions/comments with a 5-second delayed choice of "okay" ... "okay" ... "not panic" ... "okay" Also, to clarify, I don't think Darcey is pure evil (like, say, Maria-if-that's-really-her-name) but I deem her the worst American because her two daughters are such collateral damage for the second year in a row.- 27 replies

Thank you ... I never knew if that was really a song or just a soundbite ... since I assume the two shows are not connected, I guess it's just a (sucky) song. And that writer/artist is getting a metric f*ckton of royalties.

You're forgetting ... oh, wait. She was born in 1970. Never mind.

Absolutely. That scene tore me up.

Evidence of how exhausted I was, that I couldn't even explain clearly why I couldn't watch both Eps 12-13 together! Thank you for understanding (literally and figuratively)
-
Okay, so, to briefly preface ... I realize as I write this that the season finale has already aired and everything is explained (or not). But since I was on mini-vacay when E12 aired (coincidentally, in Canada), I chose to wait to watch it until both of the last two eps were available ... because I was exhausted last night, I watched this ep but am holding off on the finale until tonight. So apologies if anything/everything I say is redundant or irrelevant. I did NOT get the feeling that June heartless just let Eleanor die. I think she really was very fond (weak word) of Eleanor. Her description of her as "kind" was accurate and heartfelt. When she saw her, I got the vibe that her gut reaction was ABSOLUTELY to try to revive her. But as she tried and failed, and saw the residue of the drugs on the bedside table (if I saw that correctly), I think she realized that worst case scenario she was almost dead with no hope of revival, and best case scenario she'd be seriously brain damaged ... or, YMMV with good reason if you were to flip-flop those worst case/best case options. Then you take into account (as many here have) that even if she revived and was verbal in the hospital or anywhere else, she was already a HUGE liability to spilling the beans on this cause (one that Eleanor herself clearly cared about). So if June were to think (wildly, rapidly, having to make a quick call) what were the possible outcomes, likely outcomes, that could hurt the fewest people, what she did would be hard to argue with. IMHO anyway. As always, I am PISSED that we never got a really good Martha episode with Rita the lead. Maybe next season (anyone know the date S4 debut airs?). I cannot wait to watch the finale tonight, even though it means I'll have to wait probably a year or more to start back up (though I've already pre-ordered "The Testaments" to arrive the week before my daughter's wedding, and I plan to save it for the 6-hour flight out there). My big question to myself is ...

I thought for the first few episodes that she lived in Farmingdale and so was in the outer reached of Long Island. But I got confused re: how she could get up to Buffalo so quickly to see him ... turns out she lives in Farmington, 19 miles from Rochester. Not exactly the big city.

It seems that at least some of the Marthas (Beth, for example) were professional chefs pre-Gilead. So maybe there was some method to the assignment madness with certain skills considered.

For me, I still associate Heaven Is A Place On Earth with Black Mirror's San Junipero so even though i was never huge fan of the song, it's a good association.

Am I the only person (or maybe one of the only ones here who is old enough to remember them!) that keeps thinking of the 80s band Martha and the Muffins? If I thought Margaret Atwood still had ANY creative control on the S3 scripts, I'd give it a lot of credence as an inside joke since they were/are Canadian as well.

It makes me wonder (idly) what, if any, kind of oversight was made (as in overseeing things, not as in missing them) in terms of where commanders who had families (i.e., young children) lived. Were they required to stay in Boston? Were they given outposts such as Amherst, et al? Did they indeed have houses on the lake so they could have almost normal lives? Were these the "lesser" commanders perhaps? I confess to having a more personal curiosity, having lived in Amherst for four years and thinking that in ANY society I'd rather live there than almost anywhere else in the world (okay, Anguilla might edge it out, as would a cute little place in Kitsilano if it was given to me for free).
