  1. Wow, this is a really astute observation. And I totally agree. The thing is, Bethenny is often the one to get the party started. Love her or hate her, she just is. She is the one who often probes for answers or says the thing that gets the conversation going in a way that brings resolution or clarification. She was a shitty talk show host, so I am not all that sure that she possesses some real skill, but perhaps because she was involved in what was going on she can get to the root of the whole deal. Either way, her imposing her will on the conversation makes it more interesting than less so. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that Andy just sucks at the whole reunion deal.
  2. Well, except she said at the reunion that she couldn't change him. More importantly, she said it when they were in the Berkshire's, which was before she married him. She said he was a 50 year old man and she could hardly change him at that point. She knew, she said she knew, and yet she still did the deed. Perplexing indeed.
  3. I don't believe there has ever been any notion that Bravo wanted to give Lu a wedding special, and I certainly would never believe she would turn it down if they did. There has also never been any confirmation that Bravo wanted to film her wedding for the show or that they intended to do so. There have been articles saying they were unhappy that she went to People for $$ and gave them an exclusive, but nothing directly from Andy or Bravo. Those stories could have easily have come from Lu. I just don't believe that a gal that did as much press as she did prior to the wedding, and made it all such a thing with parties on the show both before and after the wedding, would have refused the opportunity to get additional screen time. Not after all of the public humiliation she allowed herself to suffer through for this relationship.
  4. Bethenny alluded to John being a drug user when they had their argument at that bra deal last season. The one where he came in hot and said some nasty things about her business. She threw that out there about him (something like "go do another line"). She said nothing about Dorinda. At the reunion the topic came back up and Bethenny tried to walk away from it. Sonja was the one who then started talking about how everyone knew Dorinda did drugs. I don't think anyone denied it. Sonja continued with the drug talk after the season in interviews. The rumor was already out there - about John. From his very first appearance there were mentions that he was well known to love the blow. Before Bethenny ever alluded to it.
  5. Yep. This is my conclusion as well. It is just the only thing that makes sense, knowing what we know now. Well, and knowing what we knew from the beginning.
  6. This entire comment is the greatest thing I have ever read.
  7. One thing that I don't think Bethenny has done a great job of, is making her other products part of the PR game she is doing on the show. Case in point, most times when folks say they don't like her products, or wouldn't try them for whatever reason, they always mention the booze. I am in complete agreement here. I have tried several over the years, and have never liked any of her alcoholic products. The thing is, she has a lot more stuff than that, but we don't see a lot of it on the show. Perhaps because it is harder to work into segments than is the alcohol? For the record, the truffles are to die for, and I could eat the popcorn every single day. Haven't tried the deli meat yet, but I will because I have heard it is really good.
  8. Yep. Lu got more press leading up to the wedding than she had ever gotten before. She should have been talking up her other ventures. Someone said her clothes had been discounted steeply, but if she still had anything to hock, she should have been mentioning it when she was talking about her wedding. You have got to take those opportunities when folks are taking an interest in you to discuss the stuff you have going on that is important to you. You are so smart (and funny, and insightful, and almost always right). I do need to do this, but I hate to miss out on anything!
  9. I have been witness to the way a company acts when they want to distance themselves from someone. It is not pretty. As far as I have seen, there has been no intent to distance Bethenny from Beam. They had their brand front and center with her, and always have. If last season offended anyone, they could have easily told her that they didn't want to be tied to the person she represented on the show. If they had told her to be good, she wouldn't have ripped off her clothes and jumped into the pool. I worked with the current President at Beam many years ago when he was far younger and worked at another company. He is tough and doesn't put up with a lot of shit that he doesn't want to put up with. He is also a marketing genius. From what I have heard, they love the shit out of Bethenny.
  10. I think it was discussed in more depth, and we just didn't see it all. Production was clearly showing us that she drinks a lot. Especially on the ski trip when they kept going in for close ups of her drinking, or when she would leave the table to get more vodka. Carole also said something about it to someone. Maybe Dorinda? About the fact that the Tito's wasn't helping Tinsley's situation. And then Beth mentioned her drinking at that last dinner in Mexico in her TH interview. Something about never seeing anyone put it away like she was doing. I got the impression that it was something that had been noted by the others. My guess is her drinking at 8 in the morning was also a thing and we didn't see the footage. ETA: I had forgotten one other comment about Tinsley's drinking. And it made many of us raise our eyebrows at the time because it came from Dorinda. She said something about Tinsley being a "day drinker". Surprising because while I like Dorinda, she has zero business talking about someone else drinking too much.
  11. I have no idea. I've never been involved in a Wedding/Birthday/New Year's Eve Bash. It all sounds bat shit crazy to me. All I know is she made a huge deal out of having 3 wedding dresses. Many of her interviews were about the fact that she wanted 3 wedding dresses. And the dress she wore at the reunion was one of those three dresses that she called a wedding dress.
  12. Yes, and it wasn't like she was saying something we did not know. Tinsley drinks a lot, as we saw all during the season.
  13. Yes to this. I would love to see Lu really ice Ramona out. She has done a lot to her over the years and is clearly not her friend.
  14. I originally thought that as well. But nope, it was the 3rd of her wedding dresses. http://people.com/style/rhony-luann-de-lesseps-wedding-dress-details/ Which makes it all the more strange. She had already seen the footage from the finale. They were already having issues, if her statement last week about the fact that they were arguing and simply could not get along (I think she said it was "impossible") is true. She said they had been working hard, which I would assume would mean they were working hard when they filmed the reunion. Why wear one of your wedding dresses? I will say that I love that neckline on Lu. She really knows how to dress her body for the most part (although I didn't care for her other wedding dresses).
  15. It is hard for me to believe that Tom didn't know who Lu was before he married her. He made his big cameo in the first season, and then dated Sonja. No one will ever be able to convince me he didn't watch this show, even on the down low. He had to have known about her little deal with the Pirate. Falling down drunk in the bushes is nothing compared to fucking a guy you just met while on vacation, when you have a significant other back home. In a situation where cameras are all over the place. If you can get past that, you can get past too much tequila. Especially if you are a dude who claimed he was so drunk at the Regency that he didn't know what he was doing when he was making out with a blonde in a room full of people. This is truly a situation where neither of the parties involved can act shocked by the level of humiliation that the other is willing/able to throw at someone they pretend to love.
  16. If Ramona is the one who keeps bringing Missy/Mindy around, she should be ashamed and held accountable. By Lu. For me, that would be unforgivable. But the way that Tom reacts to Missy/Mindy is on Tom. It is not on anyone else.
  17. Where has this been said? Carole asks folks when they come over if it smells like pee because she is concerned it does. Everyone has said no. Everyone includes both Ramona and Bethenny, two people who would tell her if it smelled like pee. Was it said in this episode it smelled badly? Maybe I just missed it. Her apartment was hot. They had an unusually hot couple of days in March. Really hot. So like most people, she probably didn't want to turn on the A/C in March. I don't when we have a couple of strange hot days in a season where I know it won't last. And Dorinda said the next day that it was strange because it was soaringly hot one day, then the day of the party it was freezing. Carole doesn't have screens. She probably never gave it much thought before she got the kittens. She had only had them for a couple of months at the time this was filmed, and it had been winter. So she hadn't probably intended to have her windows open. It is amazing reading all the comments about how the cats pee all over the place, and Carole lives in an apartment with no A/C. I just never got any of this from watching that scene, but maybe I should watch again.
  18. Awful to say the least. But certainly believable that someone would just say something like that, with zero knowledge that it made them sound like a total asshole. Lu told the story of her own meeting with Tom, seemingly proud that she had "won", and didn't seem to recognize how horrible the behavior was. Horrible behavior on both their parts.
  19. But is it an insult to just point out the obvious - that for the most part the forums are fun because folks are posting their opinions about whatever the gals are doing. Most of us don't have any facts. We have opinions. So yes, it is just a fact that the gals on the show, who also tend to give their opinions, would fit right in among us. Just like the gals that are good at snark would fit in. And the gals that are judgmental would fit in. Those are the things we are all really good at (and I am not judging because I am as opinionated, snarky, and judgmental as any you will find) and some of them are as well.
  20. She apparently did sell the house for $8MM, but as others have pointed out, that doesn't mean she walked away with $8MM. There could have been a mortgage on the home and she could have walked away with a little, or with a lot.
  21. Everyone who has anything to promote is trying to do that if they are smart. LVP on the BH show has at least some type of meet and greet at one of her restaurants each season. Maybe just having someone meet her at a restaurant for lunch, but it is a reminder of what she does. And we will see her working, which goes on to show that she has a restaurant that is open for business. Kyle does all kinds of things at her store. Usually several scenes a year where the fact that she has a shop open for business is made clear. I would guess Kyle works as hard hard to market The Agency as Bethenny does SG (which bothers some to no end, but bothers me not one bit. It is smart as hell). Tamra on the OC is often at her gym, reminding us that memberships are there if anyone is interested (well, she doesn't say it, but clearly that is the point). Vicki is in her office as a reminder that she has insurance to hock. Heather use to have her clothes all over the place. She would post in her blogs or on Twitter whenever Carole, Lu, or Kristen would be wearing one of her frocks. And in her second season, it seemed like one of them always had something of hers on. And of course she was a marketing genius in the way she made it clear that Lu was wearing Yummy underwear in her "don't be all uncool rant". It's just wasn't obvious from watching the show, because they were garments and not bottles with SG on them. I barely notice the SG stuff. It isn't like she spends a ton of time talking about it or doing a commercial for the stuff on the show. It is there, but outside of this trip, I don't see her talking about her stuff all the time. It happens to be easy stuff to have around, and she is smart enough to make sure it is around. If Lu wanted to, she could have gotten the gals to wear her frocks on the show and talk about them. She could have gotten the others to wear her big statement necklaces. That is what Heather did, and it gave her the opportunity to point it out on social media later. The girls that are smart are working like crazy while on this show to promote whatever it is that have going on off the show, so that they will have some income to work with when the Bravo cameras are no longer interested in them.
  22. I only like to see a HW come back if she has some real connection to a good portion of the gals that are there now. If they don't, they might just as well hire a new gal. Lydia doesn't work much for me on the OC show (although I don't necessarily dislike her) because there isn't a lot of history there. She was only there for one year. For me Heather coming back would be a dream. She has a real connection to Carole and Dorinda (and still keeps in touch with them) and had a full and interesting history on the show with Ramona and Sonja, complete with fireworks. And then I would love to see how she would interact with Bethenny now that they know each other better. Her coming back would not feel forced or staged.
  23. That is the way these things work. It is all opinion. When George Clooney was deemed the Sexiest Man Alive by People way back in the day, it wasn't a verifiable fact that this was the case. When they name the 50 most beautiful people in the world, this hasn't been confirmed as the truth. I doubt that Carole believed she was stating a fact that had been backed up by science. I think she was saying that it is a fact that she believes she has the best boobs of the group.
