  1. I can see that point, but I don't believe it was right before the baby was born. The show was being filmed between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so at that time we were someone near the beginning of December. In her blog, Vicks said this week that the baby is due in a few weeks, so she was only about 3 months pregnant at the time (yea, she looked bigger than just 3 months along, but clearly that wasn't all just baby weight). I can see Brianna wanting to get settled in her new home and become familiar with the folks who would be her physicians going forward prior to the baby being born. Moving is never easy, but far harder with a newborn.
  2. The Countess is a much better friend to Sonja than Sonja is to her. I wonder if there is not a fair amount of jealousy on Sonja's part here. To some extent both of these ladies had their social identity tied to their husbands, who were old and rich. In both cases they were left by these men, and probably in both cases got less in their settlements than they thought they deserved. Yet Lu just got on with the business of living her life. She found a hot guy who seemed to care about her, and while she no doubt had to down size her standard of living, she doesn't sit around bitching and moaning about it. Even on the trip last year, Sonja had to settle for Lu's sloppy seconds with the pirate. I believe that by the time this show was filmed, Lu had already launched her plastic tableware on QVC without a lot of fanfare. Sonja on the other hand had yet to get one of her many silly projects off the ground. Lu is doing stuff, while Sonja is just talking about it. Bravo is clearly setting us up for the time when Harry ditches Sonja for Lu. This should be all kinds of delicious.
  3. This and more of this. The whole cast shake-up just has me all kinds of turned off. I never cared for Jaq one way or the other, but I kind of liked Caroline and Kathy, or at least some of the traits they brought to the show. Teresa and Melissa were so flashy and narcissistic, while Caroline and Kathy were just very different. They had their bad traits as well, but I liked how different they all were. For me, the payoff with regard to the Guidice situation would have been seeing the way the other gals reacted to it. They all have such a history together - both on and off the show - that it would have been fascinating to see how the deal played out. Especially with regard to Caroline, since she pretty much predicted this whole deal would go down in a similar fashion way back near the beginning of Season 3, for which she was heavily criticized at the time. I would far rather see the reaction of the other Ho'wives than to see the reaction of the Guidice children. Damn Bravo for trying to manipulate my emotions by making me feel sorry for the kids. And yea Teresa - lots of other folks are going through something similar. They are called criminals and they generally end up in jail, where they belong.
  4. Yea, but we don't know how the conversation went because of the editing. What we do know is that they have cookies in the house, and she bought the kids some cupcakes. They clearly eat sweets. Coco didn't look at the cupcake like she didn't know what to do with it. This tells me Heather isn't a complete shrew about food like Yolanda over on the BH franchise is.
  5. I cannot believe I am going to say it, but I was completely rooting for George when he was talking to crazy Ramona. IMO he wasn't nearly as hard on her as I would have been. He just let her go on and on about something that was none of her business. It would be one thing if Ramona actually gave two shits about either George or Cody, and was actually concerned for their future. Since she is not, her intrusion was just stupid, like everything else about Ramona. She looked terrible in that frock she came to the party in - terrible. Has Ramona always waddled? I noticed it for the first time during the spa scene when she waddled away after throwing her champagne at Kristen. It was on full display when she was leaving the scene of her latest crime at the engagement party. Not a good look when you are surrounded by ladies who are for the most part very graceful. And what is with Sonja and Aviva and their sudden close friendship? I found it strange that Sonja was standing at the front of the room with Aviva when she made her toast. I would expect to see her husband by her side at that moment, not someone who basically accused her father of assaulting her.
  6. I think the problem with Heather is that she Is hanging with such a dumb group of gals. They are unable to actually have a conversation about anything, and if she should attempt too, they have no idea what to do. Take the conversation in the first (or was it the second?) episode in Hawaii where Heather mentions the name of a tree. Vick's is the one who corrected her and told her the word she had just used described a venereal disease and not a tree. She was the one doing the correcting, which she does all the time, yet she was pissed when Heather called her on it. Vick's turned the whole thing around to make it look like Heather was the one who thought she was perfect, saying that she was sick of being corrected by Heather. Same thing later that night when Heather asked the gals what they thought about stemless wine glasses. This is what many of us in the actual world call a conversation - a sharing of ideas and opinions. I have had this exact same conversation with many of my friends who consider themselves knowledgeable about wine. It was nothing except confusing to Vick's and Tamra. They have no idea how to just talk with anyone. They also have no idea how to be a good friend. She may be annoying, but I have never seen Heather be anything except extremely supportive of both these dumb broads.
  7. I saw this scene very differently. Clearly she lets them have cookies because she has them in the house. She also opted to treat the kids at the park to huge cupcakes vs. granola or an apple, so she doesn't seem to be completely adverse to the fun stuff. My take was that she had already told the kids "no". Maybe they had already had enough sweets for the day, or maybe she didn't want them to ruin their dinner. She seemed irritated because she told the kids "no", yet Terry so easily gave into them.
  8. I love that they are filming over Christmas. Has this franchise ever done that before? I only remember NJ doing that. Loved the Christmas pictures. It is funny how alike Shannon and Heather are. Both of them basically running the show, with their kids and husband's just pretty much doing whatever they are told. I thought everyone looked fantastic. I am so beyond bored with Vicks and her storyline. Yea, yea, yea - it sucks that your daughter is moving away. Vicks knows how terrible it is because she did the same thing with her kids when they were very young. I find Brianna to be beyond irritating, and for the most part I always have. She has always rolled her eyes at her mom and acted like she could barely stand her. The problem is that I totally understand Brianna's reaction to her mother. It must be frustrating to be making such a huge change in your life and have your mother sitting right beside you talking about how hard it will be on her. Hey Vicki - your daughter, whom you profess to love more than life itself, is married to an asshole, has a small toddler to look after, and is pregnant with another child. At the same time she is moving her entire life and everything that she knows to a community that will be very foreign to her. This is big time, scary stuff. Why can't you stop worrying about yourself for just 2 minutes and focus on your daughter? It reminded me of how Vicks made Brianna's cancer scare and tough childbirth all about her as well. I will say that while I have literally never agreed with a word Vicks has said, I am on her side about Oklahoma. I was raised, educated, married, and had my children there. I cannot imagine ever going back now that I have seen what the rest of the US has to offer. The change will be huge for her. IMO it is not a pleasant place to live, and my experience has always been that folks who come from Oklahoma love it, but many folks who landed there from almost anywhere else hate it.
  9. I agree. It didn't bother me in the least. For me it is all about the context. He was laughing about her and her silliness at home, where we had just seen him playing with her. If he had been lounging around on the couch wearing a wife beater and swilling vodka from the bottle and angrily called her a bitch for asking for a snack or a drink, I would probably change my opinion. He seems to clearly adore her so I don't think there is much need for this to cause her any long term harm. I noticed when he came home from work and the girls were all in the kitchen with Heather, everyone was thrilled to see daddy come home. That is a good sign to me.
  10. Yep, word on the street is that Aviva doesn't go to Montana. That makes two outings that she missed. I cannot imagine AC and company took kindly to that, hence she gets left out of the credits. She made matters worse by retweeting some nasty comments her fans were making about how pissed they were to see her left out. Some of them specifically calling out Andy. Not smart in my opinion. Tamra on the OC once said that the trips are grueling, and even if they are going somewhere fantastic, most of the gals dread them. Like any other type of travel, tempers tend to flair up and more drama generally ensues. Clearly they are not always made to go, but it is strongly encouraged. I would think the fact that Aviva opted out of two of them would not bode well for her when contracts are renegotiated next season. More than anything she missed valuable camera time and many folks realized they frankly like the show better when she is not around.
  11. No, you weren't dreaming. She absolutely said it. The editing looked strange to me, however. You couldn't see who was on the bull or what was going on. Tamra said in her blog that she rode the bull 5 times. Actually, she said most of the folks rode the bull multiple times. For all we know Heather said it about someone else or the first time Tamra got on. For her part. Heather's explanation is just confusing on her blog. She knows she said it, but doesn't really remember saying it, and if she did it was a joke. Or she was drunk. Oh, and she wanted us to know that the operator didn't speak English anyway so he wouldn't have been able to understand what she was saying. Her trying to find a way to explain this makes about as much sense as when the Countess tried to explain away her pirate on the NY show. Don't they know the cover up is always worse than the crime?
  12. I think Kyle can be a mean girl, but I think they all can. Anyone who believes that their life is interesting enough to be beamed into my living room must have a touch of narcissism, and narcissists can have an underbelly of mean running through them, IMO. I think that Kyle's reputation as a mean girl was largely based on Game Night. Sure there are other, lesser examples, but I think many folks attribute this one episode to largely defining her character. I hated the way she behaved that night too and was appalled. The more interesting thing to me was always the fact that Lisa wasn't there, and said in her blog at the time that things probably would have been different had she been there. She seemed to imply that she wouldn't have tolerated such behavior. I wasn't sure, but largely bought that narrative because I loved Lisa. After seeing season 4, I now doubt that things would have been much different at all. Lisa sat by and watched Brandi be equally hateful to Joyce on several occasions, sometimes laughing right along. She did this while having nothing personally against Joyce. Contrast that to how she felt about Brandi when she first joined because of the whole Cedric deal, and I cannot imagine there is any reason to believe Lisa wouldn't have been on the side of the mean girls on Game Night.
  13. That would be awesome, but I don't think we will be so lucky, although we do have the Montana trip coming up and Aviva doesn't go with them. My thoughts are the leg on the floor deal will be during the Season Finale. AC likes to make us wait for the good stuff. The attached gives us a small glimpse of what the next three weeks will be about. Hard to believe we are at episode 13. AC has already started soliciting questions for the finale on Facebook. http://www.zap2it.com/tv/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/episodes/SH010309010000
  14. Hi all - another TWoP refugee joining the conversation. I concur with Lura that the hospitality on this site is much appreciated. Lots of nice comments have been thrown around on the TWoP site about Previously over the last month or so, and it sounds like this will be the desired destination for lots of folks. Clearly the rhythm of this site works well for the folks that have chosen to call this place home, so I will do my utmost to conform in my appreciation for having a new place to call home. I have been struggling early on in not knowing where to post specific thoughts. I guess the nature of the beast in those of us who like these kind of communities is that we want to share our opinions and engage with the broadest possible like-minded audience. On some threads there is so little engagement that I would tend to not want to post there because it seems like no one is going to that thread. Am I alone in this quandary? My tendency is to want to go to the thread that has the most recent activity and find a way to engage in those comments, vs. commenting on the threads that seem kind of dated, even if I have something to add and would like to hear other perspectives. Sorry for my early complaining. I look forward to "virtually" meeting lots of new folks.
  15. Ramona can blame menopause on her terrible behavior. She can blame Mario and his cheating ways. She can blame her childhood. The fact is, Ramona was a loon on the very first episode, and she is still a loon. The throwing of things might be new, but nothing else is.
