  1. Completely agree. Married for 31 years and much of our interests are different. But we find a way to encourage each other in the things we love. The thing is, we both have things that we love, so we get what brings the other joy. I love my book club and my husband loves his golf. My husband loves to fish and wants to do it every single weekend. I hate to fish and have no interest. So I took up paddle boarding and it was hard. I am not athletic, so it took me a while to get the swing of things. But now we both go to the lake. He fishes, I paddle board, and we meet a couple hours later on the boat for sandwiches and white wine (only a glass - we are careful). We have found a way to spend time together, with each doing the thing that makes us happy. I am just not sure what makes Shannon happy, and I don't think that Shannon knows either.
  2. Yep. I have always believed that a large part of the problem is that Shannon has nothing going on herself. Now she has the show. Big fucking deal. What does she have to do with the remaining 7 months of the year? She has kids. Blah, blah and blah. She also had full time nannies to handle many tasks. Maybe she still has nannies? I've no idea, but she did when the show started. So what does she do all day? The kids are at school. I have always believed that you cannot rely on someone else to make you happy. People can add to your happiness. They can enhance your life. But you have to find a way to make yourself happy. Shannon is 52 at this point and apparently does not get this. She wants for David to hang out with her and be as miserable as she is. He is out there doing things that bring him joy and make his life better, and she doesn't have the interest, ability, or courage to do the same and it makes her angry and jealous that he does. What a sorry ass role model for her 3 girls.
  3. Concern with appearances to be sure. I think that if the clip of Tom talking to Missy in the finale episode hadn't looked/sounded so damning, that she might have just continued to try and play this whole thing as the press getting it all wrong. She didn't have to do those interviews or issue those denials. Well, she was probably contractually obligated to do the WWHL gig. The other stuff she could have just kept to herself. But since she was denying both the fact that Tom had met another woman while out on the town with friends, and that she "slapped" him, it sounds to me like she was going to try and basically gloss over the whole thing. They said they only saw the finale episode the night before they filmed the reunion. And asshole needs to de-mic while they are filming, which appearance-wise was bad and humiliating. Who could she blame at that point? She wanted to blame Ramona for bringing Missy everywhere (and no doubt about it, Ramona is an asshole), but it wasn't Ramona's fault that he said the things that he did. That was everyone seeing it with their own eyes and it was hard for her to deny it any longer and not look like a big fool. There just wasn't anyone else to blame at that point. Not the folks posting comments on random sites, not the press, not the other HW's.
  4. Tidbits from Lu's interview with Andy. Apparently the final straw came that weekend before the reunion when she was at Jill's charity deal. He went out with some friends, and called up an old girlfriend to come along. She found out about it in the tabloids. Oh, and that slap that she had earlier referred to as more of a love pat. It wasn't. It was her grabbing his face "in the heat of the moment" when she wanted him to really listen to her. Sounds like this whole deal was over, with the exception of actually filing the papers, when they shot the reunion. So the conclusion is that Tom is the dirt bag that everyone thought he was.
  5. I would love to hear about Clooney or her journalistic past as well. She has never really talked specifics about her work as a journalist, and I would love to hear more. But I think many would hate it like crazy. Any mention by Carole of Clooney would lead to talk of her bragging. I think even talk of her past work as a journalist would have some screaming that that was 15 years ago and no one cares. She seems content to just kind of hang around her apartment and go out with her friends and if she isn't doing anything that others think she should be, she isn't really interesting. Doesn't bother me, but I can certainly see how some could need more in their Reality TV folks. I just want them to be real people doing their real thing, but can see how that might not be particularly entertaining year after year.
  6. I haven't watched the last several episodes, but it seems like Vicki and Kelly were talking poorly about Shannon and Tamra in the first or second episode, or maybe both. It seemed like they were acting like they didn't need them because they were the mean girls or something like that.
  7. Yes, they were all interested in the notion that Sonja might be paying a guy to appear as her boyfriend on the show. It would be interesting to know for most, but especially if you were on the show with her. My comment was in relation to someone thinking it odd for Carole to be interested in it and not wonder about the others. The ones who actually introduced the topic.
  8. Or else what? When has another woman demanded that she come clean about something "or else"?
  9. Carole didn't seem any more interested in outing the French dude as an actor anymore than any of the others did. Lu was actually the first person to bring it up - to Dorinda. She said "I heard he was an actor". Dorinda agreed. Then they said that he certainly looked the part. Beth then jumped in and said "what, he's an actor"? Sonja denied it, Dorinda said that was what she had heard, then asked Carole what she had heard. She said she had heard the same. Lu then agreed that this was the word on the street. Carole said that she thought Lu had heard it from the same person she had heard it from. So I guess the question is, why were Lu and Dorinda so interested in outing him as an Actor? They had the most to say on the topic and brought it up to start.
  10. Well, I will be one of the first to admit I was wrong. I really thought it was a rental. The pad looks much better in the pics than it did on the show. Maybe staging it to prepare for going on the market. What is with all of these chicks coming on the show(s) and putting their homes on the market after a season or two?
  11. I haven't really been following any of this. It only caught my attention because Mauricio's looney mother had apparently involved herself early on. I tend to give things she says the side-eye in general. My question is - since it has become a big thing - has Peggy denied that she is homophobic? It is certainly an ugly charge coming from anyone, but especially from your own brother. I would be screaming at the top of my lungs that this is all a huge lie. Reaffirming my hatred of intolerance over and over again. Not just calling my brother a liar, but making it clear that I don't condone this type of bigotry. Maybe she has done that. Just wondering if anyone knows. OK...so I answered my own question. She addressed them (you guys probably already know this and I am just very late to the party) but not really: Sulahian writes, “On another note, as I deal with the loss of my father and my health battle, I am choosing to focus on my family and on my own recovery and not on personal attacks against me. I will not further engage in a public exchange with anyone, but it must be stated that the accusations against me are false and my actions have been grossly mischaracterized." Whenever someone says that there actions have been "mischaracterized" I give them the side-eye.
  12. I think it is more complex than that. The events where we see them engaging with each other (with the exception of the vacations, which I believe they will all participate in) are events scheduled by the HW's themselves. Usually you have a natural bridge between the factions. One gal who can have an event that they will all come to and that gets the drama started. Someone that actually has some type of a relationship with the others. They don't really have that this year. Heather could have been that person to an extent. But who else? Maybe Meghan? They don't know Peggy, so her having an event would hardly get everyone there. They hate Kelly, and how unrealistic would it be for her to have anything major and Tamra and Shannon would come (at least near the beginning of the season). Vicki cannot be that person. Lydia isn't really known to most of them. The problem is that too much of the cast doesn't have enough of a history with the other gals to be that bridge. And the stuff between Vicki, Shannon and Tamra is massive and real. You need for at least one of gals to want to bring some resolution. Like how Kyle was always so anxious to mend fences with LVP. How Ramona wanted to make things right with Bethenny. You don't really have that here. Which probably makes it more realistic, but makes for a sucky season.
  13. Yes, there was that. And they we saw Adam (living with Carole at the time) making his sexy salads when Tinsley came over for a visit. I think we probably saw as much Carole and Adam living together as we did Lu and Tom.
  14. Sounds like Bethenny knew what she was talking about when she said last season that Tom didn't actually have any money. Lu brushed it off, but the things that Bethenny is right about.....
  15. I think I heard Lu mention a time or two that she had gotten married, but unless I missed it, there weren't a lot of scenes of them cohabiting.
  16. If I were Lu I would rather talk about who I voted for than talk about my dick of a husband.
  17. I don't think she would have gone on a tirade, but so what if she had? What would the fear be? Fear of Carole not agreeing with their position on something?
  18. I agree 100%, and I wonder, does that say the same about Lu? Seems to me the gal contradicted herself a few times at this reunion. When she filed for divorce, a mere 3 weeks after the reunion filmed, she said they were fighting all the time and it had become "impossible". That they had worked "hard". I didn't hear her saying any of that on the reunion stage. She was talking about what a great guy he was. Yep, she slept at the hotel the night before, but nothing about it all being "impossible". Then there was the thing with the count. She has told us herself on the show that they had an open marriage. That she didn't like it, but she went along with it to keep the peace. But then on the stage, she said the truth was they were separated and she didn't want folks to know. Talk about things that make you go hmmm. If it had been Bethenny, there would be dozens of articles, interviews and examples of how she was a big fat liar who said one thing one day, and one thing the next. But with Lu, no real need to examine the facts of her statement and find a way she might be trying to deceive. Maybe she just isn't worth it?
  19. I was gonna be mad at ya'll if you didn't mention my gal M. Obama. That was the thing. The idea that Lu was pretentious enough to believe that dressing her was somehow so incredibly special.
  20. huh? You beat me to it. Yep, not hard to understand how an 8 year old can recognize such a thing. Especially if it is that kids reality.
  21. No. No mother can ever imagine it. I have heard mothers talk about children who were on death row with more love and compassion.
  22. If memory serves, it sounded like she kind of caught herself in the middle of her rant. Her total and complete disgust that such a body part would be used in such a way. That this is not what was intended to happen to that particular orifice was what she was saying. And then I think she realized how that would sound. Because to some it would sound like that. Many, many people slur homosexuals because that "type" of sex is unnatural and therefore allows their homophobia to be justified. I've never seen or heard anything that Dorinda has said that is homophobic, but it could come across like that if a person were searching for something. I think she caught that at the end.
  23. I know. Always happens. You can also find some friends and family of OJ who think he was really searching for the real killer.
  24. Hey, even Joan Crawford - she of the wire hangers - paid for little Christina to go to college. Many parents provide financial support to their children, but still do vile things to them.
