  1. That was very hard for me to follow--what Jared thought vs. what Philip and Elizabeth thought they were up against with Jared in the long death scene. For me, it wasn't just the difficulty of Jared's throttled speech but who E & P thought they were dealing with at that juncture? I'm not quite sure what you mean, and I'm left more with impressions of that scene (although on 3rd watch I figured out what he was saying.) I think Sexy Spy didn't disguise herself because Jared wasn't going to be an agent she was running (in other words, just used, expendable, like Annaliese or the others) she was actually bringing him into the real KGB fold, someday he would run agents of his own. So why disguise herself? It would be like the dude Phillip and Elizabeth had dinner with disguising himself from Phillip or Elizabeth. I'm pretty sure this was going to be a fairly long term relationship, possibly even partners while she trained him, since his parents had refused to do so, and someone had to. I think Elizabeth may have implied Sexy Spy got a little to into her role with Jared, but it was murky. Frankly, I do think sex was Jared's driving motivation, along with anger and a horrible feeling of being treated as stupid, and lied to, which I'm sure Sexy Spy fed. Think about it though. With mom and dad dead and gone, there was nothing to prevent him from having sex as much as he wanted to. No making up excuses, or getting home by 11PM. He's be with his love forever, and in every position possible. Remember teenage boy sex? My feeling was that Sexy Spy was kind of living her role, but not in love with that kid. It's wasn't one of her worst gigs for the KGB though, and it was long term, so why not enjoy what she could of it? I didn't understand Elizabeth's reaction to the "no disguise" either, so maybe I am missing something. (moved from Baggage thread) One more from that thread. Yeah, I think Sistermagpie's post pretty much nails the Jared fiasco. Well done. The other thing I would add, which was part of the KGB manipulation is this: Sexy spy treats horny teenager like an admirable adult who not only can handle things, is smart, is hot, and has made sexy spy fall head over heels for him because she KNOWS he is a MAN not a child, unlike horrible, lying, coddling mom and dad who refuse to respect him, and have lied to him for his entire life. Now he can be free of those liars and begin his epic romance, and totally cool spy job. In reality, he was just a kid who loved the idea of being thought of as a man, was completely besotted and thrilled about the sex he was now having, and hurt to the core by his parents lies. So, the KGB, who as I said once before, really have no clue what an American kid is like, chalk the whole problem up to "we should have involved the parents, so the kids don't feel resentment like Jared did." We've seen before on this show that the 'feet on the ground' spies like Phillip are only marginally listened to, the plans come from big wigs far away, and will happen, because they are THE PLANS.
  2. My favorite one from last night (and I don't have the exact quote, but would really appreciate it if someone does!) was: "I can't tell if this is one of those times I should be looking in your eyes, or if it's where I should not be looking in your eyes." So true, and so perfect.
  3. Another character that's deeply involved though could bring the unknown. We know about Saul, but this will probably be an ensemble show, with other characters to care about as well. Let's just hope they pick good ones.
  4. So good! Love Tuco's sane cohort. "For when you find out you're in the game." Saul has always been such a good lawyer, and a good man with his clients. He could have left those little shits, but he risked his life and fought for them. That's the Saul I thought we'd be seeing. Beautifully shot. I still don't get the electromagnetic albatross around Saul's neck. Hopefully there is a payoff in that somewhere. Tuco doesn't look like he's hitting the meth yet. Much saner.
  5. So, they cut out the whole brother in the law firm scene for tonight, and frankly, the show is playing better without it. I know we need it as some kind of background and he will be a character, but it really was a much tighter episode without it. Tight! Tight! Tight!
  6. OMG, this Better Call Saul commercial insert in tonight's rebroadcast is cracking me up. Junior Brown.
  7. Here it's black SUV's. I can't tell one from another, but they are huge and everywhere. A friend of mine drives one, and several times we've left a store and tried to get in the wrong damn car.
  8. He's a fabulous actor, but yeah, not attractive. He was spooky good in BB, I loved the way he didn't swing for the rafters with his acting, very subtle stuff.
  9. Oh man, I am so sorry! I just mixed up my shows! He will not be on this one. Yikes! I'll go edit the first one! We do need a spoiler thread though.
  10. We may need a spoiler thread. ? I'm really looking forward to tonight's show, and to rewatching last night's. I think I'd follow Vince anywhere, not just because of Breaking Bad, but listening to the commentaries on the BB DVDs just made me fall in love with him more, as both a show creator, runner, and director. I am SO glad I wasn't spoiled about Tuco. That was a great moment. I also think it makes complete sense that a criminal lawyer will have interactions with some of the criminals that Walt dealt with fairly soon after. There were some great actors, and great characters on that show, so I'm glad to see some of the back, especially Mike. Anyone else think he's doing some kind of surveillance on the court or cops, and that's why he's in the ticket booth to the parking lot?
  11. I think this show is going to need a "Jesse" type, young, hot, the heart of it all, a sidekick. I know they've hired and I'm sure he'll be great, but I don't think he can carry that kind of appeal. ETA I was wrong about this. Brain Fart, he was hired for a different show. I am so sorry, bet that got a few hearts started.
  12. We don't know yet. Was that the same house? At first I thought Tuco's mom might be her maid or nanny, and she called her to come take the car home. ?? I really need to watch this again, I was distracted for parts of it.
  13. They are going to show this one before tomorrow night's part two, so I'm sure I'll catch more the second time around.
  14. Yeah, when Saul was going into hiding, he told Walt he'd be lucky to be managing a Cinnabon. Nice touch. This isn't supposed to be a comedy, any more than Mad Men or Breaking Bad is a comedy, at best, "dramady" which is just about my favorite kind of show. I'm sure he had a bumpy ride to becoming Saul, so riding along sounds good to me. He answered the door, last scene. Did your DVD cut off or something, this show ran long.
  15. They are setting it up, I'll definitely give this a few more episodes. Oh, what am I saying? I'm in for the duration.
  16. Holy crap! I wasn't expecting Tuco!
  17. In my youth I delivered mail for a while. Believe me when I tell you, many people are in complete denial over their dogs. One person was screaming at me that her dog didn't bite, simply because I asked her politely to please call her dog off, and put him away until I got the mail delivered! I lifted my leg up and the dog was HANGING from it. Luckily, it was winter, and I was wearing 2 pair of long underwear, 2 pairs of pants and boots. That damn dog still broke the skin, and I had bruises for weeks. It was a Scottish Terrier, with a huge head. I think Kim loves having a huge dangerous dog that only likes her around. Whacko. Lazy. Dangerous. Oh, and I've never believed Kim is sweet. The Richard sisters suck in every way. The first and only time I've liked her were the scenes with Monty, and letting him stay there while he is dying.
  18. Hosing them off was great! Was that on the spot or just a talking head?
  19. Completely agree! Or, more succinctly, "they were all assholes."
  20. wirewrap, seriously, when was she supposed to apologize? Kyle, "I'm sorry for "touching" you, BUT it was all your fault and you were stupid and how dare you...etc." I seriously think it's laughable to call what Kyle said an "apology."
  21. They are being raked over the coals, it's Kyle that is getting the pass. As I said, they were all being assholes. Kyle is no victim, she brings it all on herself.
  22. Yeah, me too Higgins. Also, I think they are pretty much required to show up for most things, or be reduced to a "friend of" with much less money coming in from the gig. Kyle didn't really even have to do anything more than paste on a smile and wave across the room at them. That would have been the smart thing to do, but Kyle isn't known for her brains. That way, if Kim DID want a "scene" she would have had to approach Kyle and start it. Or Brandi would have. Kyle would be far more blameless had she waited for that. Lisa would have, but that's why Lisa rules. Hee. More strategic, and just better at this game. Instead Kyle barreled over there bound on a fight, and started ranting. She needs a better bra, and to stop wearing those tight skirts, they just make her thighs look enormous, when she actually has a cute figure. Someone needs to teach her how to dress in ways that flatter her body.
  23. Rather than make an embarrassing scene, IF Kyle was so concerned about her sister (which I doubt, I think that is all for the cameras) then YES, she could have followed her home and talked it out without cameras. I would have. Then again, I loved my sister, and would never have deliberately tried to get her to further humiliate herself when she was trying to do the right thing and go home.
  24. If Kyle wanted a warning it would just be so she could prepare herself for the attack more, rehearse her speech, and gather her gang to help.
  25. Thanks. She's ruined her face so much it did look like Adrienne to me. STAWP Brandi!
