I didn't read the book, I have no intention of reading the book. However, the outrage over the illustrations is ridiculous. People are reading too much into it. I am a black woman, the pictures that have been held up as "racist" are not even close. The black child "picking up trash" could just as easily be seen as "black child concerned about his community". Someone even mentioned the "black girl with a gap". What does that even mean? Even the black child being the thief, from the cover, it seems as if the story is about the black child, is that not the case? If so, it makes sense that she would be the thief because I assume it's about her learning a lesson. My son has read many books about black children doing something wrong and learning a lesson form it. He has read many books about white children doing something wrong and learning a lesson from it. He has also read many books about various animals doing something wrong and learning a lesson from it. People, especially people who are not POC, should be really careful about making every small thing about racism. Because then, when there are actual, big and serious problems, it allows for others to dismiss them as just more faux outrage. I would bet at least a $100 that 9/10 of the 1 star reviews are not from people that have actually purchased the book.

I also think he looks good with the shaved head. Much, much better. On another note, how old is Felicity now? I'm wondering if we're going to get some school info soon, she should be off to preschool right?

I don't like the name either and it doesn't go at all with Israel and Samuel. I have a feeling that they were indeed planning to spell out Israel and had to make a name up on the fly when people caught on.

I guess I'll never get why the rule for Jill seems to be "yay! let her thrive!" (i.e. it seems like no one ever calls for her stuff to be boycotted or her sponsors contacted) and for Jinger there's just the opposite sentiment. As far as public statements of their beliefs, I think Jinger and Jill are on similar footing, and both of their husbands have said or implied agreement with some pretty terrible things. Is it just because Jill "seems" more mainstream that she gets a pass?
-
I agree; she's also much taller than the other girls. It always seems like she's hunched over and hiding her shape. I think she dresses like that because someone has told her she needs to look more "feminine".

The first thing that popped into my mind was the VAST difference between how Ivy's hair looks -vs- Jinger's girls. Jessa really should be ashamed.

I would think that Tyler is no different than any of the younger "J"s. If Josie and Jordyn and Jennifer can be discussed here, why not Tyler, who is older than all of them? Otherwise, I would think that the rules need to change to no overt criticism or discussion of anyone who wasn't an adult for the majority of the show. -
Yikes so many posts here make it seem like people with disabilities shouldn't parent. Are we as a society really saying that LP parents should not procreate because bringing other LP in the world is bad?

They just look happy to me. I don't see the smug.

I'm sorry but why is this in JD and Abbie's thread? Is JD there? Has he posted about going there? Is there any evidence that he even suggested he was going to be there? Or is this all based on the fact that he's done previous MC things?

I don't consider myself a rebel and I haven't been anti-mask, but personally, I'm over mask life. I'm glad here in the DMV we are starting to lift restrictions. I think that if people are still comfortable in masks, then by all means, they should still wear them. But for me, unless I am in a crowded indoor space, no masks any longer. -
That's not James.

What's wrong with a shirt proclaiming that Jesus is Lord? 🙄 -

I've always thought she had a think for Zach Bates and at the time the Bates Family weren't "good enough" for the Duggars and Jim Bob didn't allow the courtship. By the time the Bates Family's star started to take-off, Zach was spoken for. -
Wow I was excited that Felicity had a normal, child appropriate birthday celebration. I think Jinger's kids and Jill's kids are the only ones that will have anywhere near to a normal childhood.

The Wissman guy is really attractive; Jana could definitely do worse. -
Felicity's outfit in the last picture looks self-selected. That dress is a Disney princess dress-up item (my niece has one) and that hat was probably plucked out of the closet.

I only say it's not fair because I don't think Jana and JD can STAND Josh. I think that's been pretty clear over the years. I also feel like I rarely see/saw pictures of Jana with Josh's kids, in comparison to her with her other siblings children. I'm almost 100% positive that I've never seen a picture of Gracie anywhere close to Josh, even at big family events. -
Jer is referred to as "Sinner" twin because he was sent to ALERT multiple times.
-
I could name all of the siblings in order. I'm thoroughly disgusted with myself. Of the females, I still think Jana is the prettiest, not sure yet how the lost girls will shake out. For the males, James has retained his un-Duggar looks, not sure how much longer he has before the Duggar curse kicks in. Jeremiah is still holding on to "cute" but I'm sure marriage, and 50 lbs is not too far away on the horizon.

His speech is really lacking for his age. I had to check to make sure they said he was turning 3 rather than 2.
