  1. Good - that's an improvement for sure from my time. I was 15 [early 70s] when my ears were pierced at the doctor's office, and I'd been told it wouldn't hurt at all. However it DID hurt - like CRAZY - but only for the briefest second. And not both ears at once - that would have been nice.
  2. Completely agree. Zoey should really decide for herself about having pierced ears. Early teens is a good time frame. She probably will want them then and that's fine. But not now. Especially since she is not a child with an overabundance of pain tolerance. She may want the earrings now but is likely to be very upset when she actually goes through the process and finds out that it hurts [even if only for a very short time]. If Jen takes her now, I hope it's only after she makes it clear to Zoey that "this is going to hurt like a shot hurts" and Zoey still wants to move forward with it.
  3. So gross is SO right. And why do they think it's OK? Very simple. Because they're 100% clueless. Jesus himself would have to make a personal appearance and specifically TELL them that it was unhealthy and disgusting before they'd stop it. No way they'd believe anyone else - friend or not. Well maybe they'd believe old Got-hard. They seem to unquestioningly absorb everything else that moron tends to say or suggest.
  4. Derick's hair is about 100% better than it is now too. IMO, this is an old photo.
  5. Maybe the move was supposed to be temporary all along, although IMO there was nothing said at the time that made it sound anything but permanent while they were planning it. My guess is that Judy and Dave DID miss their Florida life, and that Jen has begun to realize that between herself, Bill and the babysitter, they can manage pretty well without on-call grandparents.
  6. No kidding? Very stunning news, IMO. Jen seems so attached to her Mom. And it didn't last long, did it? In 2011, 2012 - whatever it was - Dave & Judy move to Houston and Rocky & Maggie's is created so Judy'll have something to do while waiting to be a grandmother [something for Bill too]. Now less than 5 years later - tops - they're packing up and heading back to Florida? Very surprising.
  7. Yep - your last sentence says it all. Josh won't really get to rule her his own life until Boob is gone.
  8. IMO, spot-on exactly right. When you love someone, you want what's best for that person, without any regard to what might be best for yourself. You're always thinking of the other person first and foremost. This is definitely NOT shown in any of Boob's behavior. Everything he does is handled so it's best for Boob. Everything.
  9. I've thought this too - and I hope we're right about it. It IS a comforting thought... Hope you like it as much as I do. A tip I read somewhere - from Martha Stewart's mom!
  10. Very brief off-topic tip. Cream cheese is also dee-lish-iss whipped into very hot mashed potatoes. Use a 3-oz bar if serving 4 or less, use the 8-oz bar if mashing for a crowd. And it should sit out for about 2 hours so it's room temp. Blend well into potatoes with milk, black or white pepper, butter, garlic, bacon - whatever you use. We usually, but not always, leave out the butter if using cream cheese. Neufchatel cheese is good too [and basically the same item with a French name]. Gives the potatoes a richness only The Fats can provide, alas...
  11. OMG, that is my SO fervent wish too. It's amazing to me that SNL has not taken on the Duggars [or fundies or extreme evangelicals etc] as a regular sketch. That show was made for this kind of thing and by now they've skewered just about everything else out there. I'd like to see Kid Farm as a regular show - somewhere - and for them to lean a little [a lot] heavier on all the Got-hard schtick too. Between SNL, Funny or Die, the Kid Farm people, we should be able to educate the country that the Duggars are not just simply a way-too-large family.
  12. Here on the southern shore of Lake Ontario we're getting Zippo too. A major change for us since we're usually the ones getting socked with snow. But I can totally relate to everyone in Jonas' path right now. Stay inside, stay warm. Stay nourished, hydrated, entertained and well-rested. After all, times like these are why God invented junk food and alcohol [just kidding]. Normal dull ordinary life will return before you know it - and isn't it nice to have things shaken up a bit every once in a while? A little shaken up, mind you. Nothing drastic or permanent or expensive, please God. ❄️
  13. Actually I think they'll disappear when his friends realize his name is Spurgeon. Wait a minute - what am I saying? This poor little pudder is not likely to have any real friends. Whew - crisis averted.
  14. You're fine, aja - just a wee touch of dyslexia. LOL. But I gotta admit, a Duggar-style fundie with $50 billion is a scary thought...
  15. And stay home too, everyone! There's been plenty of warning time for this one. We were hearing "damn good chance a monster storm is heading our way" at this time LAST week. The deluge is set to start in less than 24 hours. If you don't have something you need, there's a really good chance you won't be able to get it now anyway. Even if you DO go out. And especially if you sit smack-dab in "Jonas'" path. So hunker down with whatever you like during blizzards. Coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate. Popcorn, cookies, crockpot pulled pork. Reading, backgammon, sewing. Anything you like and don't usually get enough time to do. And may the Force be with you all ...❄️
  16. Could literally be anyone. Probably some non-descript barfly, I'm guessing. But who really knows?
  17. Completely agree. For many reasons, I'm hoping university-level teaching is on the horizon for Jen - instead of another "The Doctors" type of TV program which I believe she once said was a goal of hers [or at least HAD been a goal at one time]. A - Jen would be terrific in a classroom. There's a big difference between knowing your subject matter and being able to get it across to others. And she clearly has this knocked - in spades. B - I think she'd really like life on an academic calendar, especially since it would synch up with the kids' lives nicely for the next 12 or so years. C - it would in all likelihood be less strenuous physically for her. D - not needing to be "on call" has to sound like Heaven for most folks in health care. eta - PS - A pox upon me. I forgot the most important reason of all. If there's anything we need in education now, it's teachers who are GOOD at teaching. Teachers who inspire, light a fire, pass on the joy and just plain care. Jen would be great for this reason too.
  18. Is it me - or has the past half year added some gray for these two? Certainly looks that way to me.
  19. I gotta give this one o Me-chelle. Trump's critter would take one look at that mess and run yapping into the horizon...
  20. There is an answer, but you're right. You just can't fathom what it is right now. If you ever DO find out, you might be shaking your head - or you might be amazed that it ever was a mystery to you. But one thing seems certain. You have a fairy godperson or a Christmas angel or something out there. Somewhere. Just be sure you have fun - or do something wonderful - with that money.
  21. Right backatcha, Some... It's been a genuine pleasure.
  22. As a teacher who worked with this age group for many years, I agree - and VERY much doubt any other arrangements or adjustments had to be made for Will or Zoey in their separate classrooms. In fact I'm sure teachers were/are looking for every way possible to minimize/ignore size differences. This is the age where, if properly and sensitively-handled, it might be possible to avoid or at least reduce future bullying behavior in children. Kids this age are obviously curious and will definitely ask questions, but I'm guessing/hoping that teachers and parents in their school are simply telling Will's/Zoey's classmates that all people are different. Some are tall, most are in the middle and a few are even quite small. And most importantly, that a person's size isn't really very important. That there are many MANY things that are much more important. That's when I'd start to draw the kids out and ask them what they thought WAS important. And personally, I'd be surprised if Will or Zoey is ever picked on by any of the children they spent time with in pre-school. Hopefully, those children are not likely to view them as anything but simply small-statured.
  23. IMO, it's the other way around. They're leghumpers because they're so dumb. :>)
  24. I'm guessing Jill is waiting to find out whether or not TLC is going to continue filming. If yes, she'll then become pregnant in a flash. If she isn't right now...
  25. I've seen many if not all of the New Day videos featuring Will, and I have to say - with all due respect to Bill and Jen - it's my opinion that Will was BORN with that incredibly-sunny disposition of his. He did not acquire it upon coming to the States. In every video he's shown to be a very happy, up-for-anything, outgoing and exuberant little kid. IMO, he has one hell of an indomitable spirit. Not even nearly starving to death in a Chinese orphanage could knock it out of him. I hope he has it always...
