  1. I should be clear that I haven't really seen what he has done on his Apple+ show. The only times I've seen him since he left was during a brief appearance on Sam Bee's show and a weird segment about COVID on Colbert's show. I was disappointed because of what had come out about the behind-the-scenes atmosphere at his show. This came out before the 'making stuff up' essentially torpedoed his bid. That brings up one of Stewart's other weaknesses. He's admitted diversity was an issue during his first run so hopefully, he'll improve upon that with this run.
  2. I guess I'm a bit contrarian. I used to love Jon but by the time he did the Rally to Restore sanity, I felt like he was fighting the wars of a different era and had lost relevancy. I believe Hasan Minhaj was their plan even though they were doing the guest hosting bits. They probably didn't have a Plan B and this is their attempt to make sure the show stays relevant.
  3. I was rooting for Katie but I don't hate that Lisa Ann won.
  4. Because of a short news break in, the ending was cut off. (And c'mon NBC, can't you just add a minute or two to the show? You had to know you'd probably break in briefly?) Can anyone mention what happened after Abby and Dan rolled out the barrels? I thought the beginning started too on the nose but I had more laughs as the episode wore on. I'm glad Wyatt being there doesn't mean that Flobert is gone. They both offer something.
  5. From what I remember from Mulcahy on GH, he might have his favorites but his writing never played favorites. ' He was still beholden to whatever the head writer wanted to do but the characters were well-rounded regardless if they were the "chosen" ones or not.
  6. Sure I understand what you're saying but I don't think they have any evidence on him. Just deciding to leave with her doesn't prove that he knows she's guilty. It doesn't even prove she knows she's guilty. They could claim they wanted to leave because they feared malicious prosecution.
  7. This is what I was going to say in my reply too. I believe the "just prays" came from the TV broadcast and it's so unlike anything I've ever heard LaFleur say about a player that I either questioned the interpretation or wondered if he was off the record. In addition to what you wrote out, he also talks about how they've seen him do it in practice and he needs to translate that to games. They didn't just get rid of their kicker because he was more expensive but they really thought his leg wasn't what it used to be. Considering he didn't land on an active roster until the final three games of the season, GB wasn't the only team with that assessment. The only roster move I think the GM might have reversed if he could is trading Rasul Douglas to Buffalo back when it looked like the GB season was lost. He probably would have held onto one of those interceptions.
  8. Moving to Vietnam in itself isn't a crime and it's not the reason she was arrested. It might be why she was arrested when she was, though. They probably didn't want to arrest her when they did but felt they had no choice once they learned she was leaving. And in order to keep both in the US, they only needed to arrest the mother or the father and the evidence against the mother is stronger. She has direct ties to the money issued to Charlie's girlfriend.
  9. I'm glad they broke up. Christofer seemed nice but that "nice guys can't win" speech was kind of icky and I don't think he understood what she was trying to say. He really never offered a different opinion and I'd be suspicious of that too--especially when she'd say things like "I'm not sure I want kids" and he responds that he'd be okay without kids only to talk about their future children in other interactions. I don't think I laughed as much as I laughed at Sergio's lofted bedroom kitchen. Just...how does that get made?
  10. He probably didn't think they'd tie the murder to the killers because they have no connection to Dan. And really, get yourself a dumb or lazy cop (of which we've seen many on this show), I can sort of see why he thought he'd get away with it. The real idiotic thing was the paper trail. I don't know FL law but in many places, accessory after the fact needs active participation in a coverup. Simply knowing or suspecting who murdered Dan isn't enough.
  11. I don't believe he has officially retired. I know one of the insiders (Schefter or Rapaport) said he gave a goodbye/retirement speech to the team in the locker room but he came out on his podcast and said that wasn't true--he'd never make a firm decision like that during an emotional time. So he might retire or he might not but nothing is confirmed. Yep. This is why I came here. Regardless of who we root for, we all know the frustrations of being fans.
  12. Sports kills me. It just hurts sometimes. As a Packers fan, everything in me should just be grateful they made it to the playoffs when they only had a 10% chance a few weeks ago. I should have had no expectations and everything they did once in should have been just gravy for a team whose only goal this season was to determine if Jordan Love is the QB of the future. But man, it would have been so much easier had the game played out like the Ravens and Texans did instead of another, super close game full of missed opportunities.
  13. I wasn't going to watch it because I've heard a podcast but then I remembered about the brother being convicted and the mother arrested so I decided to watch anyway. Wendi is interesting to me. I think she was fine with involving her family in trying to strongarm her ex into giving up custody. One thing I didn't like about this episode is that they kind of framed the custody dispute from her perspective (Danny didn't treat her "well") but didn't really get into details about what that meant. They made it seem like he was simply mean when it was a straight-up custody dispute and it got lawyer ugly. His 'meanness' was that they were living in one part of FL when they separated and she wanted to move to be closer to her parents hundreds of miles away. However, you usually can't take the kids hundreds of miles away in a shared custody agreement so she was "stuck" where she was unless Dan agreed to let her have primary custody or he moved too. I don't think Wendi will ever be arrested. I go back and forth on how much she knew. Driving by Dan's house was weird. But I don't think she would have mentioned the hitman joke/comment if she knew her brother was behind Dan's death. I do think it's interesting that she perjured herself on the stand by saying he didn't make those comments. I'm not sure what she was going for. Charlie's story was something else. In all that time, he never once thought to go to the police?
  14. Not the scene I thought they were going to spoof.
  15. From what I've read, the LA Innocence Project is not affiliated with the more well known Innocence Project. It's not part of the Innocence Network. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innocence_Network That said, unless they're just trying to raise their profile, I'd be curious about what post-conviction evidence they think has been held from Peterson.
  16. I hate Jerry Jones. I think he's a terrible human being. But I don't think keeping a coach who has gone 12-5 over the past three seasons, including winning the division twice, and who has helped improve the play of the QB, is insanity. Some coaches get to the game in year one or two but it took Andy Reid seven seasons before he did it in KC.
  17. Packers too. Other than the Oline, they got rid of every vet on the offense. Just like the Rams, they had a bit of a rocky start but their young players started putting things together. But good coaching is important with young teams. And something has been very strange about the Philly HC when they started to lose that didn't help them turn things around. Throwing snow in the air in celebration is why I'm a fan of the elements. I think they already showed what Biles received. It was a puffer vest.
  18. I don't know. It depends on when the Christmas episode was filmed because they had the other guy as the clerk. I hope we see Wyatt again. It took me forever to place him but he was also on The Good Fight. That was more of a drama but had some comedic elements.
  19. But why do they get to determine what is funny and who is too sensitive? I've seen some older comics do this too and I find it highly ironic these often very successful comics, who are still raking in millions of dollars, whine about not being able to tell that one homophobic joke because a younger audience won't like it. But there's always been a generational aspect to comedy in that people who loved the comedy of the 60s didn't always appreciate the comedy of the 70s, 80s, 90s...etc. And people who liked comedy in the 80s might think the comedy of the 60s is just so silly. I don't know that I've seen a younger generation unable to laugh at themselves. Like any generation, they probably take the jokes easier when it's from their peers as opposed to when it's by someone older who is out of touch with the struggles they face just as baby boomers don't love when they're made fun of by 20-somethings.
  20. Reportedly, it's going to be a longer season. I liked it the length that it was so I'm not in love with the idea but that may be why there are so many characters.
  21. I liked this episode. It was a very solid setup for a comedy and I laughed quite a bit more than previous episodes.
  22. I don't think any issues with comedy is because kids are coddled. They still face addiction, abuse, economic insecurity like people did in the past. I also don't know the ages of the writers for this show. Professional writers these days can get a professional writing job and still need to do odd jobs to make ends meet. It's a different scenario from the past, where you could be a lower-level writer or writer's assistant in a writers' room, earn a living, and learn from the more experienced writers before you progress into higher-up roles. But producers, started by streaming, are more reluctant to want to fund a writers' room. Then, if you add in the fact that there have been progressively fewer multi-camera sitcoms being produced, it reduces the available apprenticeships even more. In addition, the reduction of writers in writers' rooms means fewer people are available to punch up scripts or add even more jokes.
  23. There's a French-Canadian show available on PBS Masterpiece called The Wall/La Faille. It takes place at a self-contained structure in a mining town in Northern Quebec. This season is giving me similar vibes to that show's first season. So far, I like this. I'll wait and see about the supernatural element. It was the part I hated the most about the first season but I think that's because it felt more random the more the season wore on.
  24. I don't see chicken or the egg since people faking it are usually basing it on something real. But I'd think her son would have turned on her if she were involved. Plus, I don't think she would have put her dog in danger. Poor puppy :(
