Congratulations to Nyle and Peta for winning the mirror ball trophy. He was one of my favorites this whole season along with Jodie and Wanya. I usually don't like when Carrie Ann gets all emotional, but I thought her communicating with Nyle through sign language was touching. Speaking of Jodie and Wanya, I was happy to see them both dancing again last night. Both would've been great finalists in my opinion and I'll especially lament not getting to see what Wanya and Lindsay would've done for their freestyle.

Lol, talk about uninteresting replacements! I don't watch AYTO so I had no idea who they were when they walked out. Abram and his brother coming on last season as well as Cara Maria coming in as Cooke's rival on the last Rivals season were much more interesting replacements. The challenge this week was kind of funny to me because most of these pairs can't stand each other and were forced to be so close. Ashley was pretty cringeworthy. Once again, we were subject to another episode of Johnny Bananas playing the victim card. He's just mad because Sarah outsmarted him when he would've done the same thing in order to win and has actually done it before (exhibit A: Paula). It's total crap that he carried Sarah throughout that season and helped her get to the final because she and Jordan were a strong team without his help.

S05.E13: New York State of Mind
Steph619 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Project Runway All Stars
I really wish Kini would've won because I was rooting for him all along especially from his season of Project Runway. I didn't like his constant bickering with Sam this season and the overconfidence he displayed sometimes, but he's a great designer. I didn't love everything from his final collection, but he did have some nice pieces. I liked Ken's collection the best. Yes, it did have designs that have been seen before, but they were very well-made. My favorite was the cream colored suit. I accept Dom's win because even though she wasn't my favorite designer, her body of work has been exceptional. I don't mind that she's also won Project Runway, but it would've been nice to see someone else redeeming themselves and winning instead. -
I never saw Johnny Reilly's Real World season. I only know him from the Challenge and I didn't mind him until now. He's such a jerk to Jessica and just complains all the time about her. Stop whining already! The same goes for the other Johnny, the king of dirty moves on the Challenge. I didn't get to comment on last week's episode, but he has the gall to be mad at Sarah to this day about betraying him, but he's done the same to other people in the past and I have no doubt that if given the opportunity, he would've done it to Sarah too. Too bad about Leroy. I have no idea who could come in his place or Averey's. Tony is gross. I'm glad Jessica didn't fall for his obvious invitation to hook up.

I kind of felt bad for Sam when Ken was telling him off because I would've felt embarrassed if someone talked to me like that especially in front of other people. However, I do understand Ken's frustration as well as that of the other designers. Sam doesn't seem like he tries very hard with his designs and knows that he's going to skate by no matter what because Isaac is fascinated by every little thing he does. His dress was not up to par with the rest of the competition and yet he got praised for it when he could've easily been eliminated over Emily. Speaking of Emily, she really grew on me this season. I was not a fan of all of her designs, but I admired the fact that she stood by her work and was proud of it despite what the judges thought.

At first, I thought that Nyle was being very arrogant with his comments, but the more I thought about it, it seemed like he was only joking. Nonetheless, he should avoid saying things like that because even if he's joking, people will be turned off. In terms of the dances: -Jodie did a great job with her challenging contemporary and Wanya shone with his N'Sync routine. - Nyle's dance was good, but his frame wasn't. -Ginger didn't convince me because I feel like she didn't give enough attitude to sell the dance. -Paige's dance is the first of hers that I actually loved. -I was expecting Doug Flutie's Bollywood dance to be a disaster, but he did better than I thought. His elimination seems fair to me though.

S05.E10: Rebel With A Cause
Steph619 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Project Runway All Stars
I lost count with the number of times the word "badass" was mentioned throughout the show. I liked Emily's look, but I probably would've given the win to Kini. I was so glad he decided to get rid of the jacket and just go with the top and those beautiful pants. I'm not the type of person that likes the color yellow, but I really did like his pants and how well they were made. Sam is such a kiss-up to Isaac with the flats. At first, I was so distracted by the model's hair that I couldn't pay attention to the outfit he made, but after I took time to actually look at it, it didn't look well-constructed nor edgy to me. I actually liked Ken's look, but his construction skills went out the window with this design. I'm glad he stayed over Asha, but he needs to step it up for next week or he'll be the next to go. -
Just as I suspected, Jodie and Val turned out to be a better partnership than Jodie and Keo. In this case, I wish the switch-up was permanent. She looked so confident and really seemed to be enjoying her dance with Val. I loved Nyle's Viennese Waltz with Sharna. It was so beautiful and how can you not love the guy. He seems really down to earth and just an all-around nice guy. He has wonderful dancing ability and I hope he makes it to the final. Lol, a note to Sharna: never assume what a person's sexuality is. It's better to ask than end up making that type of mistake. Wanya is one of my favorites and in his case, I'm glad the switch-up with Witney is not permanent. I missed his chemistry with Lindsay, but despite that, I don't think he deserved the criticism he got from Maks.

I know I'm late to the party and that most of you have probably already read it, but I just finished reading Gone Girl. I thought it was a really good and well-written book even though someone had already told me before about the twist after they watched the movie. However, I had no idea how it would end so that's what kept me going. I imagined the book ending in so many different ways than how it really ended so I was just left kind of speechless. I didn't love it or hate it and in a weird way, I wasn't surprised by it.

The only design I really liked was Kini's. His jacket was great and I would probably wear it to a game. I thought he met the challenge the best and I'm glad he finally won. Ken had his troubles with his design, but I didn't think it was as bad as Isaac and Georgina were making it out to be. I actually thought it was kind of cute. I'm not sure what the other designers were thinking when they were designing their outfits, but it is clear that most of them had no idea what people really wear to a sports event. I want to be comfortable while watching a game and I don't think I would be able to accomplish that wearing a little cocktail dress like Sam's or a long dress like Dom's even with that detachable piece. They missed the mark completely especially Sam who just didn't seem to give a damn about whether or not it fit into Alyssa's athleisure line even though he claimed that he loves making athleisure clothes. He seems to know that the majority of the judges love him no matter what he does so he's just banking on that to coast through the competition. I actually didn't mind Sam in Under the Gunn as awful as that show was, but seeing him again on All-Stars has made me realize that he's not likeable nor that good of a designer. Layana's elimination didn't surprise me since she had already been in the bottom many times before. I didn't think her outfit was that bad, but it wasn't impressive either.

S01.E10: The Verdict
Steph619 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in American Crime Story: S01 The People v. O.J Simpson
I watched the finale yesterday and I was amazed by how well the show built the tension around the reading of the verdict that is so well-known by now. As crazy as it sounds, a part of me still hoped that the verdict would be different. I felt for Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden because I think they did work really hard for such a long time to bring justice for Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, all while facing so much backlash and criticism from the public and the media. Most of all, I felt for the families because they walked away with nothing. I liked that the show ended with the pictures of Nicole and Ron because their murders was what the case was really about and it's unfortunate that they didn't get the justice they deserved. All in all, I thought this show was great. It was riveting and held my attention week after week. The acting was excellent, but probably the person that I was most impressed by at the end of the show was David Schwimmer. When I first started watching, all I could think when I saw him on screen was Ross from Friends, but at the end, I forgot about Ross and just saw Robert Kardashian. The part where he slams down the Bible at the party as his declaration that he was done with O.J. was amazing. -
I gave all of my votes to Jodie this time around because although she had noticeable mistakes in her dance, she continued on and plus, I really like her. She's one of my favorites along with Nyle and Wanya. I honestly don't think she'll win this season of DWTS, but I definitely want her to stay around longer. I'm interested to see who she gets as a partner next week for the switch-up, but I'm hoping it's Val. My favorite dance of the night belonged to Lindsay and Wanya. Lindsay has really impressed me with her choreography and I think that she has come a long way since her first season as a pro.

S05.E08: Once Upon A Runway
Steph619 replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Project Runway All Stars
I love Kini, but I really wish he would just ignore Sam and focus on his own work instead of feuding with Sam. He's a great designer, but he's coming off as petty this season. I thought that Dom's Tinkerbell inspired design should've won. I loved her use of prints and how cool it looked. I also liked Kini's because it was whimsical and reminded me a lot of Alice. Asha's was nice, but not winner worthy to me. -
I went with my family to see this movie and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Most kids movies and shows nowadays just have dumb jokes to get cheap laughs, but Zootopia was actually funny and smart. I liked how Disney went down the Pixar route and touched upon adult themes like racism with the whole predator vs non predator issue. I loved the partnership between Judy and Nick and Mr. Big was great. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and I would definitely go see it again.
-
This season might actually be good because there are a lot of decent to great dancers. I know Nyle from ANTM and I wasn't expecting him to be such a good dancer! His cha cha with Peta was my favorite dance of the night. I'm definitely rooting for him to make it far in the competition. I also liked Wanya and Lindsay as well as Jodie and Keo. Jodie is my favorite to win so I hope Keo can help her shine with the choreography. Geraldo was awful, but I think Mischa will be the first to go.
-
I was 4 years old when the trial was happening so of course, I was too young to understand what was going on or even remember any of it. That being said, I actually like Marcia Clark being so much in the media nowadays because she was a huge part of this case so I like hearing her perspective along with those of others so many years laters. It helps me to gain insight on what happened back then.
-
I wasn't particularly impressed this week with anyone's design. I was expecting more since it was a Baroque inspired challenge. I really just liked Ken's so I'm glad he won. I think if Sam would've won, there would've been an all out brawl between Sam and Ken backstage. Attention remaining designers! Stop helping Sam! He will accept your help and take all the credit for it without once mentioning your name. I hate to say it because he's my favorite designer, but I thought Kini's dress was awful. We've seen him do that bottom of the dress before and this time, it didn't even seem well executed. His dress wasn't enough to send him home, but it definitely could've landed him in the bottom. Hope to see something better from him next week. I agree with Mitchell's elimination. His dress turned out to be a disaster especially with his fix for the broken zipper.
-
I saw the Steve Harvey interview yesterday too and I thought he did a good job. I know for a fact that no matter how much time passes, the pain of losing a loved one never subsides. I can only imagine that the pain of losing a loved one is a lot bigger when you lose them in such a cruel way like the Goldmans did. Both Fred and Kim Goldman seem like such lovely people and it's heart-breaking to see their pain to this day especially given the outcome of the trial where justice wasn't truly served.
-
As soon as Valerie and Sam were announced as the bottom two, I knew that no one would go home yet again and this time, because the judges seem to really like both especially Sam. Both outfits were bad, but I thought Valerie's was the worst. Nobody seems to like Sam except the judges and Asha. I think that has a lot to do with the rest of the designers feeling that the fix is in for Sam to win it all. I laughed out loud that the least winter wear outfit on the runway ended up winning. Emily's was nice, but it didn't say winter to me. I thought Mitchell should've won this one. I really liked Kini and Dom's as well. Speaking of Emily, I have to agree with what many of you said about her makeup. It looked awful.

The Wendy Williams Show - General Discussion
Steph619 replied to David T. Cole's topic in The Wendy Williams Show
Wendy on Conan: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml79j4zNVcE I have no words. -
Jodie is my favorite right off the bat so I'm looking forward the most to her. I hope Keo doesn't disappoint with the choreography. Ginger and Val should be good. I remember that Ginger did a little dance number with Derek before on GMA and she looked good. However, I'm afraid that she will be the chosen one this season and she will be overscored. Hopefully not because I like her. Mischa and Artem seem like they'll be eliminated early. Even if she does have dancing ability, there's something about her personality wise that will probably not help her to connect to the audience and make them vote for her. Geraldo, ugh! Couldn't stand him on Celebrity Apprentice and not excited to see him on DWTS. I'm interested to see how Nyle and Peta will cope with his disability. It's definitely going to be a challenge.
-
I agree. I kept thinking to myself the same thing about Gabby's floor exercise. I wasn't a fan of her routine at all. I hope she's able to change it up a bit before going to Rio, assuming she gets there which I think is very likely. Nonetheless, congratulations to her for winning. It's difficult for gymnasts to make a comeback and she most certainly is succeeding at that.
-
I would've liked to have seen Jodie with Val and that's before seeing that clip of them dancing together on Fuller House today on GMA. I thought it would've been a good pairing. I kind of feel the same way I did initially when I heard Alfonso was paired up with Witney. I wanted to see him with someone else like Karina, but the Alfonso and Witney pairing ended up being successful so I hope the same happens with Jodie and Keo. She's the best partner he's gotten so far so this is his chance to prove whether he's a good pro or not.

S10.E02: The Blind Auditions Premiere, Part 2
Steph619 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Voice (US)
I liked Shalyah too so I was surprised that just Christina turned for her. I thought Pharrell might've turned for her too. Kata was just too much, maybe trying too hard at times. I did find Pharrell's junior high school boy reaction to seeing two girls kissing in front of him funny. I like Christina, but I do agree that it is kind of unnecessary when she decides to show everybody how she would sing a particular song especially if it's a person who didn't get any chairs to turn. We get it Christina, you can sing. -
I was really impressed with Alisan. I'm glad she went to Team Christina as I think they're a great fit for each other. I'm interested to see what's in store for them this season. My favorite part of the night was when Blake thought that Brian chose him as his coach when he was really saying his name to just thank him for turning his chair for him. I honestly thought he had chosen Blake as his coach too.
