  1. From Extra: Ralphie May died of Hypertensive Cardiac Disease
  2. David's estranged daughter is Katie Cassidy. She's in her early 30s & is on the CW TV show Arrow. She was raised by her mother & her stepfather. I'm not sure they ever bonded in the positive sense of the word, but apparently they at least learned how to be (though separately) at the same events; there are pics of them together online. The way I always heard it was their relationship was a series of ups & downs; sometimes good, sometimes not. Yes, she was at the hospital with David. She apparently left an appearance scheduled at DragonCon in Atlanta, it's 1 of those sci-fi/fantasy/TV fan conventions like San Diego Comic-Con, to go to the hospital. She also told the press (or at least People magazine) David's last words were "So much wasted time."--that was apparently referring, in part or whole, to his screwed up relationship with Katie. People also posted who got what in David's will yesterday, at least among his children & half-brothers. His adult son, Beau (from his last marriage, which ended in divorce in the last couple of years), got David's $150,000 in assets; his half-brothers Shaun, Patrick, & Ryan were granted (unspecified) music memorabilia; & Katie was left out. As if to make it right, and/or explain it, People pointed out that the will was written in 2004 (personally I think he could've used a few more revisions, even if he still excluded Katie, between 2004 & the last year or 2), & that Katie & David's relationship was up & down.
  3. The Antenna TV channel (1 of those cable networks that gets put on a local digital subchannel--the .2, .3, etc., channels on a cable channel lineup--for a bigger network) runs 2 eps back-to-back, from 1-2PM Eastern on weekdays. And after having that channel for a long time, our CBS station (who aired it here) switched from Antenna TV to ION--which is already on TWO other cable channels here (not counting the HD version of the channel)--the same week David died.
  4. From People... David Cassidy's Will: $150K in Assets Left to Son Beau; Estranged Daughter Katie Left Out David's half brothers, Shaun, Patrick & Ryan were granted music memorabilia. To be fair, the article notes the Will was drafted in 2004 & Katie had an up & down relationship with David (as if to explain, &/or apologize for, the omission of his only daughter & firstborn). OK, I just have to say that, even though Katie might have still been excluded, I feel like David should've updated his Will since 2004. Does that sound weird or wrong?
  5. I was gonna agree with you because it sounded right, but I decided to consult Google first & I'm glad I did. This says a preliminary report is actually generally available online within a few days. Factual information is added when available, and when the investigation is completed, the preliminary report is replaced with a final description of the accident & its probable cause.
  6. I think it is. You know what they say about making amends with friends/loved ones since you never know when you won't be able to, & you might/will regret it later (or something like that).
  7. Sir Elton John posted to his Twitter & his Instagram that his mother, Sheila Farenbrother, died this morning at age 92. He said he was "in shock" over it; he had just seen her last Monday. They had been estranged for 8 years (some sources say 9 years); however many years it was, he told the UK's Daily Mail, after marking her 90th birthday, that they'd been in touch.
  8. I was talking to 1 of my best friends last night, who also likes the show, about Scott's/Danny's arm injury. She pointed out that the explanation Danny gave Junior for his Injured arm MIGHT have been what actually happened to Scott--he hurt it falling off a ladder. Or maybe he was being klutzy & tripped over something. Both sound plausible to me, so I'm just putting it out there. And then again, he could've hurt it doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, like he hurt his knee in S1 (although that was actually publicized, probably because they had to make Danny injured in character). I'm surprised that this injury wasn't just as publicized as the knee injury, given that they had to write it into the show, again, so Danny was injured too. Maybe Scott just didn't want it publicized like his knee injury, in general, or maybe he didn't want this injury publicized because Scott injured the arm in an embarrassing way, to him, like falling off a ladder or being a klutz might be; at least in comparison to hurting his knee doing BJJ. I don't know. Again, just throwing that out there.
  9. You ARE counting the storyline where the brother of Internal Affairs Inspector Coughlin sent Abby in to get dirt on the team by being an SFPD Inspector who was starting/part of a Five-0 like task force, but then everything kinda got flipped & Abby fell in love with Chin & Coughlin's brother (Ingo Rademacher's recurring character; he also did a one-off as the father of 1 of the kids who was on a private school field trip bus which got held captive by a heartless chick who wanted back the Cocaine that was included in a drug bust Five-0 was involved in, which was publicized by then-Governor Denning with the then-members of the task force present.); & Coughlin's brother actually became friends with at least Chin & ended up offering him a place on the SF task force, which he ended up taking as a way of writing out DDK when he, unfortunately, left the show with GP over the salary dispute right before S8 was supposed to start filming. Right?
  10. Lori Loughlin was married to her first husband, an executive with Lionsgate, from 1989-1996. She's been married to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli since 1997; they have 2 daughters, Isabella (Bella) & Olivia. John was married to model-actress Rebecca Romijn (formerly Romijn-Stamos) from 1998-2005; he's recently engaged (in October this year), for the second time, to Caitlin McHugh.
  11. Man, you really went through it, didn't you? Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm surprised they didn't give you a little atropine before the myelogram, my dad always ordered that. Different strokes for different doctors, I guess. If it were me, I'm pretty sure I'd want the atropine, midazolam, propofol, or anything else they could give me beforehand, so I'd experience/remember as little as possible.
  12. From the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Twitter account: Tweet From the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the Passing of Jim Nabors, IMS Friend and Longtime Singer of '(Back Home Again in) Indiana' During the Pre-Race Activities on Race Day If you click the embedded video, you'll see/you should see Jim's photo from his first Pre-Race appearance, in 1972, & you'll see/you should see the complete performance video of Jim's last live performance of "(Back Home Again in) Indiana" during the 2014 Pre-Race activities. If you've never heard him sing before, you might want to see the (short) video.

  17. Yep, I remembered that, too (the liver transplant). It's mentioned in the obit @Bastet linked to. He got it in 2004, after contracting Hepatitis B, according to what I read. He managed to get around 13 years from that organ. I think the Indy 500 after the transplant was the only 1/1 of the very few he missed singing at before finally calling it quits in 2014. My mom's on 8 years, I think, with her kidney. Not for nothing. Somewhere else I was reading, I think it was probably Wikipedia--that & Google are basically the only stuff I've read for things about him since I saw he died--said that his speaking voice in character as Gomer was exaggerated/overexaggerated from his real voice. Having heard him speak as himself on TV, I'd probably agree with that. And, I know Polly Holliday, who played the waitress Flo ("Kiss my grits!") on Alice & in her own spinoff named for the character, did the same thing for her character--her real southern accent was overplayed in character for the laughs. I've heard her speak as herself on TV too. A lot of people's singing voices don't match their speaking voices. Especially when you're talking about, like, non-classical type singers & (I've found, anyway) singers from Australia--like Olivia Newton-John & Keith Urban. They sound pretty American when you hear them sing, but when they talk, they still have at least some noticeable Australian in their speaking voices. As for Jim, his singing voice was "bigger" sounding, when I heard it, than I imagined it would be. I don't know if he had professional training, or not. That might've accounted for the voice's sound too. I'm glad for Jim that he lived long enough to experience marriage equality. It appears they were only married, like, 4 years before Jim died. But, like Barry Manilow & his husband, Garry Kief, who we discussed in the Miscellaneous Celebrity News thread earlier this year, after Barry officially, finally came out of the closet & publicly confirmed who his partner was, Jim & his husband were together for, like, 38 years (I think it was) before marrying in Washington state in 2013. I wonder what they'll do about (Back Home Again in) Indiana this coming May--use a version he pre-recorded? Or get someone else to sing it, as they have at least the year while he was recuperating from the transplant & since he retired in 2014. I think a lot of people consider his version to be an "iconic" 1.
  18. You're missing at least actor Ronnie Schell , who played Duke Slater, another Marine under Sergeant Carter with Gomer Pyle at Camp Henderson. I follow Dawn Wells, Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island (& 1 of the first national celebrities I ever did March of Dimes stuff with) on Facebook; around Spring, 2016, she posted a pic of the 2 of them sitting together, waiting in LAX airport (LA) for the same flight to Australia, where they were to appear at the same Comic-Con/Nostalgia type convention

  20. Legally, unless you're talking about someone who's been declared an emancipated minor for work purposes, either Mr. or Mrs. Howard (or a guardian named by them, & probably approved by someone else involved) would've absolutely had to have been on a TV or movie set with Ronny &/or Clint until they turned 18, due to California Child Labor Laws (I'm just pointing that out, & agreeing with you on that point). But what I assume you're talking about/comparing & contrasting the Howards to are the unscrupulous parents/guardians who might, like, make a show of bringing the kid to the set & then disappearing until it's time for the kid to leave (whenever possible) ... on top of which they tend to systematically steal whatever they can, however they can, from whatever trust fund might've been set up to handle the money the kid made from acting or whatever other entertainment industry job they had.
  21. This says Rance Howard was on The Andy Griffith Show 4 times; usually, it seems, in minor parts like the Governor's chauffeur. It also says he & another writer shared an Emmy nomination for writing an episode of the show, & Rance Howard also played the preacher who married Barney Fife & Thelma Lou in a reunion movie involving the show's cast (from 1986, I think it said).
  22. I wish him luck with the myelogram. My dad was a neurosurgeon & he used to order them for/perform them on his patients (part of how I know this is I used to work in my dad's office & I'd have to schedule them with the hospitals occasionally). Knowing what they are, they aren't exactly anything I'd wanna have done to myself. Basically, it's 1 of those x-rays where they have to give you an injection of contrast material so they can see what's going on with your neck &/or back & I don't think those are ever very comfortable, even though they do give you stuff to relax you beforehand too.
