  1. Yes, Will apparently did hear Jen regarding going/not going to the store with Bill in the episode. But at least part of the reason Will needed tubes put into his ears, not long after he was brought to the US (when they took him to Delaware to see the dwarfism specialists the first or second time, when he also had an MRI to check if he was getting any dwarfism-related issues with his spinal column, & his tonsils & adenoids were removed), was that he was having hearing issues. I very definitely remember Jen saying that.

  7. From The Hollywood Reporter: "Prison Break" Star Robert Knepper Accused of Sexual Assault by Veteran Costume Designer This is at least indirectly significant in the H50 fandom because Knepper memorably played HPD Internal Affairs Inspector Coughlin, in 2 or 3 eps of the show as I remember. He was out to get Chin Ho (for being a dirty cop) &, to a perhaps lesser extent, Five-0 (perhaps for their tactics & for guilt by association since Chin Ho is a member of the team).
  8. The family recently did an anti-bullying PSA, on behalf of TLC; Bill & Jen did the talking & we saw Will & Zoey in it, I think doing things with them. I don't know, but it might've been filmed at their new house in Florida (it was released, at least on YouTube, a couple of days after this season's premiere). I first found it Tweeted or retweeted to my Twitter feed a few days ago, then I lost track of the Tweet before I could post the link, & I had to search YouTube to find it again. Here it is.
  9. So, Zoey has a "pixie" haircut right now, which at least some think is unflattering & makes her look boyish. Am I the only 1 who remembers what Zoey's hair looked like on her "gotcha day" when Bill & Jen took custody of her from the orphanage where she'd lived most of her life, until the adoption. By the way, the linked photo may not be from Zoey's "gotcha day" specifically, but it is from the timeframe of "gotcha day" until Jen's emergency trip home when they didn't know she had cancer yet. If you ask me, Zoey's haircut then was pretty close to how she wears it now; it may have even been a little shorter (as in, I remember it with no bangs, like it has now). I don't remember any complaints about Zoey's hair then being too anything, so I guess I don't get why a similar haircut is suddenly too everything, I guess, except for feminine/girly/girlish. Not for nothing, but I also wore my hair (& looked good) in a pixie type cut when I was about Zoey's age; my parents, or at least my mom, kept it short because between birth & about Zoey's age I needed periodic brain surgeries for 1 of my birth defects (which is related to my current funky state of health) & it was just easier to keep my hair short while I might need a surgery kind of often than to keep cutting it, then letting it grow out, then having to cut it again. Once it looked like I didn't need any surgery for awhile, I started to let my hair grow out; at 1 point it went all the way down my back, sort of like singer Crystal Gayle wears/wore her hair. Then I eventually got tired of not being able to style it much beyond pigtails & ponytails (especially since I was an adult by then) because, not only was it really long it also was oily, & I went short again; this time with a cut like Demi Moore's hair in Ghost, which I guess is another "pixie" cut, & which is how I've worn it ever since. From the time they got home, Jen & Bill did let Zoey's hair grow longer for awhile, into a style I said--either here or in the previous forum--was similar to the hairstyle worn by the Nickelodeon animated character Dora the Explorer. I agree Zoey probably knows how to stand up for herself. After all she was the 1, instead of Jen, who told Bill in 1 ep she wanted to get her ears pierced. I don't think they've actually had it done yet. But I know Zoey said something to Bill about it while they were eating at some restaurant. I don't think it was after she had to get shots in all 4 of her limbs, & Bill took her for at least burgers & milkshakes for being a good girl during the shots, but that's when I keep thinking it was.
  10. And, sadly, the former MLB player who died in the plane crash was almost 30 years younger than Jimmy Fallon's mom. That sucks even worse than Jimmy's mom's age when she died. Although I doubt there's really any "good" age for someone (especially our family, friends, & other loved ones not specified) to die at, other than as old as possible. From USA Today: Robert Knight, Who Recorded the Original Version of the Song "Everlasting Love", Dead at 72. I think there's a YouTube audio post with his version of the song embedded in the linked obit, by the way.
  11. Condolences on the loss of your mother; especially since her passing was unexpected. My dad passed away over Memorial Day weekend at 81 (if he'd lived until almost the end of July, he'd have made it to 82); unlike your mom, we (& I suspect Jimmy's family, both biological & non) knew it was coming, for a few years now in our case (cancer f-ing SUCKS, big time). I hope Jimmy & his mom's other loved ones got to say a proper goodbye to her beforehand. When my dad went to the hospital for the last time, the last thing I ever said to him wasn't "I love you", which I've been regretting for the last few months, as I didn't get to talk to him on the phone, & my own health has kept me rather immobile, & pretty much homebound/stuck in bed for about the last 3 years... which he, thankfully, was aware of & understood--especially since he was a doctor by profession--so I didn't get to see him again at the hospital, like my mom & brother did. So the last time I ever saw/talked to him was right before the ambulance took him to the hospital for the last time, & I guess I was trying to keep things light, or something; I guess I was trying to pretend this wasn't "it"--though Mom & I were pretty sure it was--& so I didn't say "I love you", like I probably shouId've. I said something like I'd see him when he came home, even though Mom & I knew he probably wouldn't, & I'm kicking myself for it now. I agree, 68 is rather young for an adult to pass, all things considered. According to this, from my Sunday morning paper's Living/Entertainment section via AP, not only was Friday night's edition of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon replaced with a rebroadcast due to his mother's death, but all of this week's episodes will be repeats as well. Which I suppose is to be expected, seeing as they probably didn't have the funeral immediately after she died plus they should have some time to mourn/grieve properly afterwards as well.

  14. I get your point. But I have the feeling the HPD would probably make them go through all aspects of training, to be sure they're proficient, instead of having them skip part because they were supposed to have done it in the military.
  15. Thank you for clarifying. Yeah, Junior probably won't be happy knowing he has to go to the police academy first, while Tani's a "walk on" (I think that's the term I want) with an automatic spot on the team, if she wants it (which it seems she does). And there probably will be some friction from Junior with Steve & Tani because of it. But what I don't think Junior knows is, before she quit, was expelled, or however else her time at the police academy ended, Tani was supposed to have been at the top of her class, or close to it (at least that's in her character description). So far, Steve only has Junior's military record to go by, like the late Governor Jameson when she convinced Steve to start Five-0. Maybe he sees, now, that coming straight from the military, without some police experience or training, isn't as great an idea as he originally thought.
  16. Unless I dozed off & missed something, Junior's already training at the police academy. In the ep where we met Junior, he finally wore Steve down about a job with Five-0 when we saw Steve & Grover come across Junior washing either Steve's truck or the Camaro in the parking lot, just trying to be helpful & to thank Steve for even seeing him when Junior dropped by Steve's out of the blue, fresh out of the SEALs & looking to use that skill set in Five-0. They talked for a bit, then Steve said yes to Junior working with Five-0 on the condition that he go to the police academy first. Then, a week or 2 later (I think it was in the same ep as the McDanno shirts Kamekona made up for Steve & Danny's restaurant) Steve goes to where we find out is apparently the police academy. And he's talking to the guy who's apparently the instructor, as a bunch of students--including Junior--are working on their target practice/shooting. The instructor guy is asked by Steve how Junior's doing. And the instructor says he doesn't know if Junior's HPD material or not, because (then he lists a number of reasons why not & says, basically, Junior reminds the instructor of Steve. Therefore we, through the back door or whatever, also find out that Steve has apparently taken some training in the way "real" cops do things after all. 1 of the criticisms of at least some fans has always been that everyone else originally on the task force had some form of actual police training prior to joining Five-0, except for Steve who came straight from the Navy/the SEALs. And in the show, at least during S1, Danny was almost always reminding Steve that he wasn't a cop--& he took some pleasure in doing that.
  17. Thankfully, I think he might be out of it now (so maybe he didn't have to wear it all that long; just long enough to make things interesting at work for a bit--kind of like the cane in S1). At least I think Scott hasn't been wearing the splint/brace in the most recent BTS pics I've seen.
  18. I haven't seen that ep in awhile, but wasn't CJ's dad's confusion because of his worsening Alzheimer's Disease (though, as I remember, nobody actually knew he had that yet)?
  19. That was, as far as I know, an ep from soon after they came home from China. For whatever reason, Jen set up paints & an easel somewhere that wasn't completely baby proofed for being messy (messier than Jen might ordinarily want in that part of the house) & she let Will start painting. Then she decided it was gonna be a present for Bill (aka "Baba" at that point). Then a few minutes later, Jen decided the artwork was good enough & it was time to clean up. At some point when Jen was cleaning up the art stuff, & trying to get Will to help her, he got upset because she'd taken the paint set & he wanted to keep painting, & somehow he ended up hitting her (mileage may possibly vary as to whether it was accidentally or on purpose). Then Jen tried to explain kids didn't do that to their mothers & she put him in a time out over it. I think they use the "1 minute of time out for every year old the kid involved is" system for determining the length of a time out (isn't that what Jo Frost uses too?). I think TLC ran that ep sort of recently, during the day. During the day, they've been running a lot of the old eps, starting with--I think--the last minute stuff to go to China to get Will, followed by preparing to go to India to get Zoey (including the part where Jen gets sick; sicker than anyone actually thinks she is, including herself, & has to go home before they can get Zoey's entrance visa, & all the requirements for it finished), & then on from there. But I don't think they've been showing all the eps before or after the actual adoption trips overseas; I think they've skipped some. Anyway, the only other ep where I'm positive Will got a time out from Jen was also on TLC earlier this week. It was 1 where I can't remember who started out talking, or why they were, but at some point Will said somebody or something was stupid. I've always thought he said it quietly enough Jen couldn't have heard it, but she did. And then she put Will in a time out over why using the word in the way he did (in a negative, harmful sense) was wrong; I think she also told Will & Zoey she didn't want them to use that word (because it can hurt people's feelings).
  20. Wasn't there a "Blind Item" here, with references pointing to Charlie Sheen as the person involved, just before it was announced Charlie Sheen had been diagnosed with HIV? Then it ended up being about him, just like everyone guessed? I seem to remember there was.
  21. 1 of the sneak peeks of this week's ep It's a scene involving Junior (who's been staying with Steve), Eddie the dog, & Danny. Junior's trying to clean up a bathroom type mess he wasn't fast enough to avert on Steve's carpet. Danny knocks on the door, wearing a rubber type mask you pull on over your head attempting to scare Steve. Only, according to Junior, Steve's off on the North Shore escorting Dr. Brown (Alicia, the recurring character ex-FBI profiler) to the courthouse. So, then Junior says something about he heard about Danny's fall (Scott's too?). Danny proceeds to tell Junior, basically, that he got hurt falling off a "cheap" (as in defective) ladder, at the restaurant, because Steve was too cheap to buy a better (as in, at least hopefully, safer) ladder. So at least now we know how Danny's supposed to have hurt his arm in the show. But we still don't know if that's also how Scott hurt his arm (the falling off a ladder part). I've tried Googling for info, to no avail. The only injury of Scott's that I can find anything about is the BJJ-related knee injury during early S1 which required Scott to have surgery for real, & also required Danny to use a cane & not do anything really strenuous for a few eps while Scott was recovering from the real life surgery.

  23. Yeah, I hear you on the grandparents not being spring chickens anymore. But thank heaven it seems all of them (bio & step, both) still seem to be in good enough shape to help Jen & Bill when asked/needed. Yeah, I also agree that Will just running off like that might get him, someone else in the family, a new nanny, friend of the family, etc., seriously injured or even killed someday. But the thing I keep hearing in my head is Jen when she mentioned (I think it was when they were with Bill's mom at Grand Central Station) that instead of being afraid of people they should be, they really aren't afraid of anybody (I guess Bill & Zoey, when she first met him, is an exception to that). I think Jen said it was because they meet so many people who might become their parents that they really can't let themselves be too afraid of anyone, & they'll go off with anyone at the drop of a hat (whereas other children will be more wary), which is scary. And I wonder if that attitude might be part of his boisterous nature.
  24. As another poster said, they probably don't use strollers because they may have physically grown out of them. I mean, even state laws & car manufacturers say that at least most car seats have a certain age &/or weight/size limit after which the product is no longer recommended for use by your child(ren). I would assume the same goes for strollers. And, again, there's the whole thing about someone with at least a chronological age of 6 still being in a stroller whether his/her emotional &/or physical ages may not be at the same 6-year-old level. As for the backpack leash, while that may be a better ("less babyish") option than the stroller, in regards to the kids' chronological age(s), it may come to feel demeaning to the kid(s); especially if they run into school or other friends while wearing the leash & their peers make fun of them because they're being, basically, walked around by the neck like they were a dog. Or the other parents may gossip about Jen &/or Bill walking their kid(s) around on leashes while pretty much none of the other parents do it. Yes, Will sat in a stroller when he was with Bill & Jen in China & we know Bill could push him in it then. And Will & Zoey sat in a "double stroller" while Bill pushed them in India between when they got Zoey at the orphanage & when they, & Kate the Nanny, flew home from India (after Jen flew home early due to illness & got her cancer diagnosis). The thing about all of that is, Will was 3 at the time of his "Gotcha" Day in China with Jen & Bill, & Zoey was 2 at the time of her "Gotcha" Day in India. And Bill had to have fairly necessary back surgery, to fuse some herniated discs, soon after Zoey arrived home or he'd risk paralysis & the inability to walk &/or to help care for the kids. On the kids' "Gotcha" days (which were 3-4 years ago now, or more; Will was 3 & Zoey was 2, & 1 of the trips to get them was over Jen's Birthday while the other was over Bill's), each of them, separately & together, probably didn't weigh what they do now, given how much time has passed since they came into Bill & Jen's lives. Also with Bill's now fused discs, he may not be as able to push whatever the added weight is without maybe risking more, possibly worse, back trouble. Basically, I'm saying whatever Bill was physically capable of, regarding assisting with the kids' mobility, when they got the kids--thanks to the passing of time, his increased age, his back surgery, & the kids growing up, getting at least a little taller & definitely gaining more weight--Bill may not be as physically capable of doing stuff like pushing the kids in strollers, etc., anymore. Which may be another reason why some of the grandparents &/or Kate (when she was around--she was supposed to have come back to work for the family after her honeymoon, but who knows when that was in relation to when the family moved to Tampa/St. Pete) are invited to go along on (at least some) trips Bill & Jen take with the kids; the grandparents maybe are still able to push the kids in a mobility aid, if used; if not, they can at least be "grandchildren wranglers"--run off after them if they get away from the family & haul them back to the group before they get too separated (like Nainai Judy, I think it was, said she'd tackled Zoey somewhere & brought her back to the group after she got away somewhere. I wanna say it was on the trip we just saw where Jen, Bill, their kids, & Jen's side of the family went to Charlotte, NC, to meet Jen's new baby nephew & attend his baptism, where Bill & Jen were named Godparents & then they celebrated the birthday of 1 of Jen's brothers (who may or may not have been the same person as the father of the baby).
