  1. From The Hollywood Reporter--Jay Leno on David Letterman: "Even When He Was Mean to Me, It Was Funny."
  2. Great British Bake Off's Mary Berry & Prince William/The Duke of Cambridge in a new video supporting Child Bereavement UK It's 1 of those videos with a lot of brief comments by those involved with the charity. If you blink, you might miss her. She talks about her son who died in a car accident in 1989, I think it said.
  3. The CBS Store has added a third McDanno's Bar and Grill merchandise item. If the t-shirts didn't float your boat, they now have an apron (chef's apron). The design & wording are all in black, on a white apron. Details available in the linked article.
  4. From Variety: Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park Among 16th Annual Unforgettable Gala Honorees According to the article, this is the longest running celebration of Asian-American trailblazers in the entertainment industry. Daniel & Grace will be recognized for exemplifying the "devotion and the spirit of 'The Ultimate Drive' in their careers" with presenting sponsor BMW's Ultimate Drive Award. The gala will take place December 9th in Los Angeles.
  5. From Variety: Danielle Darrieux, French Star of "La Ronde", Dies at Age 100
  6. From TVLine.com: Salvation, the new summer TV series on CBS this year, which has H50's Alex Kurtzman & Peter Lenkov among its producers, & H50's Ian Anthony Dale (he's Kono's now "long distance marriage" husband, Adam Noshimuri) among its stars, has been renewed for a second season.
  7. From TV Guide: Chelsea Handler's Netflix Talk Show Ending After the Current, Second Season Chelsea's ending the show of her own volition. She wants to travel the country & get more active in politics & issues that concern her.
  8. E!'s pulled the plug (finally) on Fashion Police, apparently with the consent/agreement of Joan Rivers' daughter, Melissa, who was 1 of the producers/executive producers. The final show airs next month.
  9. There's now a red with black "outline" version of the new/original McDanno's Bar and Grill t-shirt first seen in this episode as supposedly created by Kamekona for Steve & Danny's new restaurant. Here are the details.
  10. From People: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Breaks Down While Discussing the Death of His Friend, The Tragically Hip's Gord Downie
  11. I miss the kids calling Bill "baba" too; I think they're still using the Chinese terms for Jen's parents though. I think "baba" disappeared, as it were, when Will was getting ready to start, or once he started preschool. Probably to help him fit in better. With all due respect, isn't knowing when Will & Zoey were potty trained a bit/more than a bit personal? I feel it is; maybe we should just leave it at they have apparently been trained. Maybe they just felt showing Zoey getting ear tubes after Will, & getting whatever other interventions she may have needed that he did too, was a bit redundant, at least in some cases. I think we saw both in speech therapy though, or at least being taken to appointments. It appears she got married (not that that alone should've prevented her from still being Will & Zoey's nanny). I remember seeing pics of the kids in a magazine, dressed very nicely; as I remember, the caption at least said they were in a family friend's wedding. Will was the ring bearer & Zoey the flower girl, again as I remember it said. I'll see if I can find the pics online & link if I can. All things considered, I don't think Kate moved to Florida with the family. Guess we'll see when they finally get to that in the new eps. Here is a link I found with pics of Will & Zoey at Kate's wedding; scroll until you see separate pics of the kids (Zoey's in a white dress & Will's in a suit). They were posted to Jen's Instagram (which I get to see when she or Bill link to it on their Twitters), but I think I saw them somewhere besides my Twitter because I remember the details about Will & Zoey being ring bearer & flower girl somewhere besides Jen's Instagram captions. OK I just looked again & Jen's caption says Zoey was Kate's flower girl. Jen says nothing about whether or not Will was in the wedding party, on his pic, but I'm still almost positive he was the ring bearer. By the way, there's a Tweet from Bill screencapped on this page which seems to say Kate was on her honeymoon (& I guess would be back soon), while Jen was at a conference.
  12. From E! Online: Dave tells Kimmel he misses wearing makeup
  13. I haven't seen Mad Men either (the premise didn't grab me), or The Handmaid's Tale (so far, I don't have Hulu), or Top of the Lake (which she's soon doing a second season of on the Sundance Channel). But I'm thrilled she finally won an Emmy (actually 2--the other was because she's also credited as a producer on The Handmaid's Tale which won as Best Drama & the Emmys for the best show in each genre go to the producer). I've been hoping she'd win 1 since she was in The West Wing, playing Zoey Bartlet, the youngest of the 3 First Daughters in the show. I thought she'd been Emmy-nominated for that role, but it turns out she never was. She should've been. Apologies for the strikeouts; I'm not sure how they got turned on & I can't erase them.
  14. Yes, Anthony Anderson from (most recently) Black-ish & the To Tell the Truth reboot, among other things, is the same actor who was on Law & Order from 2008 until it ended in 2010, playing Detective Bernard. I liked him in Law & Order (still watch the repeats) & I liked him playing a sort of sidekick to Alex O'Loughlin's character in the movie The Backup Plan, but I'm not sure how many here will like it, Jennifer Lopez is the female lead in it, opposite Alex.
  15. From Deadline: Interesting Article on Beulah Koale, the New Guy on the Five-0 Team, & His New Movie
  16. Has anybody else gotten the TWW Soundtrack CD mentioned in the above posts? I got mine today, but I won't be able to play it for awhile. Are the Main Title Theme & West Wing Suite on this CD too (they're otherwise on Music by... W.G. "Snuffy" Walden, which is a collection of most/all his well-known themes from at least TV)? Just wondering since I don't see them listed as such.
  17. ABC's The Good Doctor (which is co-executive produced by Daniel Dae Kim & his production company) & CBS' SEAL Team, starring David Boreanaz, & Young Sheldon are the first 3 shows to get full season pickups for 2017-2018's TV season.
  18. From Deadline: CBS Working on a Name That Tune Reboot
  19. After the ep aired, a lot of the fans got on social media & asked if the show/CBS could make the McDanno's Bar and Grill t-shirt Kamekona created for the new restaurant in the ep available to the fans/public. Lenkov's response was that they were working on it. It's now available through the CBS Store, as of sometime yesterday (Monday), if anyone's interested in it; the pertinent info's at the linked page.
  20. From The Hollywood Reporter: NBC Apparently is Redeveloping the Nancy Drew Reboot CBS Passed on with Sarah Shahi for This Season.
  21. Also, Danny had been in Hawaii for about a year when the series started. In Ep 118, Loa Aloha (The Long Goodbye), the 1 where his brother Matt visits & Danny learns Matt stole money from the clients to whom he was giving professional financial advice, Danny & Matt talk about how it's already been a year since Danny moved from New Jersey to Honolulu. As far as I know, Kono never used Noshimuri professionally. Considering the Noshimuris had ties to the Japanese Yakuza crime syndicate & she was a member of both HPD & Five-0, it was probably a good idea she kept her marriage to Adam basically on the down low, although the rest of the team knew about the relationship & so did Duke Lukela, the HPD Sergeant who most often works with the team, they all attended Adam & Kono's wedding, & nobody seems to think she shouldn't have married Adam. That's probably because he showed he was a good person & never (that I remember) seemed to have an interest in the Yakuza, only turning the Noshimuri family businesses legitimate on the death of his father, Hiro (Adam's brother Michael, the real criminal of the brothers, was serving time in a California prison when Hiro died & Adam & Kono got together). Oh yeah... As far as I know, Chin, Kono, & Danny were all considered dual Five-0/HPD members from the get-go, despite Chin's previous resignation (he was referred to as "Inspector Kelly" [not an HPD rank] for most/all of S1, if not some of S2) & the fact Kono hadn't completely finished the police academy when she was convinced to join the task force, & Steve had never had formal cop training. Danny was the only 1 who was a "legal" cop at the time: he had however many years in Newark PD, plus 1 year & however much of the current year had passed, on HPD when we met the team.
  22. Someone pointed out that if the eps hadn't been switched this week & last, the fire episode would've likely still been switched because of the California wildfires & because it was originally this week's episode. Not sure if it would've involved the original 2 eps (02 & 03), or some other combo would've been used.
  23. I think it's good, in that it started (restarted, taking the Cosby case into consideration?) a "national conversation" on the subject of sexual harassment in Hollywood/the entertainment industry/the general workplace. But it's amazing how some of the accusers are coming forward after someone else pulled/tried to pull a trip to the casting couch on them. I'm not saying that like I ever thought Weinstein was the only "movie mogul" doing this; what I'm saying is, I'm surprised people who weren't attacked by Weinstein are coming forward, instead of keeping silent since Weinstein wasn't involved with them. I suppose after Bill Cosby & Harvey Weinstein put together, women in Hollywood/the entertainment industry have finally decided they're tired of that crap (stronger word meant) & "they're mad as hell and they're not gonna take it anymore.", to paraphrase the late Peter Finch's character's signature phrase from Network. And I feel bad for Claire, that she had to go through that even though she managed to deflect it. But I loved seeing Meaghan Rath (Tani, the new girl on Five-0) & Peter Lenkov (the show's Creator/Executive Producer-Showrunner/sometimes writer) offering their support after she posted that on her social media.
  24. My apologies. Sometimes it's hard to get how somebody means something on the internet since you can't hear them say it, & hearing is a very big help in determining meaning behind words, tone of voice, etc.
  25. Well, the episode blurb at the top of the thread does say revenge killings are part of the episode, & it's the same description all the other TV listing publications (local & national, & internet) get. I guess they thought that was all the viewer discretion/parental warning that was needed.
