  1. Dog's a friend of the team, so it makes sense he'd be invited to their card games. He was also at the 1 that opened the ep where Cath went to Afghanistan to rescue the kid whose family she knew. I'm not positive, but I think Grover--by now--knows about Grace's kidnapping 5 years (seasons) ago, & understands that at least some of Danny's overprotectiveness of Grace is still on that level/having to do with that (heck, Steve's still protective of her from that, & he's not even her biological/marital uncle--when that kid, Nahele, stole his Marquis while he & Grace were working on her running for the President's Physical Fitness Award, once Grace pointed out it was Steve's car, he told her to stay exactly where she was & he went off after the car). Considering they're an interracial couple in Hawaii, in particular, where there's already a big racial mix (& Sgt. Lukela's wife is Caucasian while he's Hawaiian), I'm not surprised nobody's batting an eye at them (so far, anyway). I was surprised the Philippines killed the guy (Imam?) so fast. But in real life their new President, Rodrigo Duterte, is a "wild card", like Trump is here (& he's been compared to Trump, too). So I guess I wouldn't be surprised if someone like him were involved in that execution. As someone who's half-Filipina, I just wanna know why they have to make the major terrorists Filipinos more than not (they were in at least an S2 ep as well). There are other Asian countries they could use, after all.
  2. Yeah, I'm glad Will's name was a "normal" word too, & the team understood without Danny having to stress it too much. But if he was "Jacob", I suppose there could've been something about "Jacob's ladder" said sneakily I never saw the building they were in, but somebody referred to where they were being held as a ballroom. Ballrooms don't necessarily have to be in hotels, but I get your point about where was the venue-specific staff. There actually was a scene where a woman who was outside noticed the sign, after it had been changed to the message about "Hostages--Call 911", but she reported it to somebody who was actually working with the terrorists who were trying to kidnap the Filipino diplomat's son. I don't think it's that they didn't wanna pay Michelle Hurd, the actress who plays Renee Grover. More like she may not have been available for the ep & they're choosing not to recast... so far. The actress is also juggling recurring roles in the Starz show Ash vs. Evil Dead (though I don't think that's actually in production right now) & Blindspot, which is on NBC &, as far as I know, also in production (in NYC). So, I'm guessing Grover did tell her to stay home (probably with their daughter, Samantha) & he & Will called once everything was over (& the kids gave their statements to their dads later--& Danny & Grover gave theirs to HPD, if necessary, though it was Five-0's case).
  3. I doubt there's any way in hell you'll get your wish for them to kill off either Scott Caan or Teilor Grubbs. They're both still under contract. Sorry! I've said it before, & I'll say it again: Teilor Grubbs is part-Hawaiian/part-Caucasian, from what I've read, or I'm pretty sure I've read, about her. She's not any part Hispanic. And I could see her playing the daughter of Scott Caan (whose hair isn't always a bright-ish shade of blond, but also runs darker blond/light brown) & Claire van der Boom (whose hair is brown, just like Teilor's). For that matter, I think Zach Sulzbach, who plays Danny/Rachel's son & Grace's brother, Charlie, also looks like he could be their child/sibling. They don't have to look like the actors playing their parents as little kids--just have reasonably similar hair, eye, & skin coloring so they're believable enough to viewers who don't pay that much attention to more than basic biology/genetics. And neither has to rival Shirley Temple or Mickey Rooney (or whomever) in youthful acting talent either. If you're gonna snark Scott Caan, you could at least bother to be consistent about how you misspell his name. I like Will Grover & wanna see more of him, too. But I doubt we'll be seeing him much without Grace, since the newest article I'm pretty sure I linked in the Media (or Spoilers, but I think Media) thread says they're pursuing the "Grover & Danny's kids are dating" storyline for awhile.
  4. I didn't get the Will & Grace thing immediately upon reading about the ep, but I got it eventually. They may not have mentioned it in this ep, but I bet they'll get to an onscreen mention eventually (it seems the plan is to keep them a "couple" for awhile). It did come up in at least 1 Tweet on my Twitter feed, which Lenkov Retweeted from someone I don't follow, & the show's writers have already given them the "couple" name "Grill" (it was either that or "Wace").
  5. That's interesting. I follow the weekly Twitter ep commentaries by the writers (& sometimes Peter Lenkov, but he's also busy with the MacGyver reboot), & 1 of them--probably Rob Hanning, the guy who wrote this episode--also commented that Chosen Jacobs (Will Grover) looks like a young Muhammad Ali. Great minds think alike, & all that, huh?
  6. Yep. I guess we're all pretty much saying the same thing: Why did Gracie call Grover "Mr." instead of use his job title, "Captain"? Especially when she knows he's a police captain since A) He works with her dad, Danny & B) She's met him before--at least, but presumably more than, twice (at the football party when Kono & Adam came back from hiding out from the Noshimuris' Yakuza enemies, & at a Valentine's Day cookout that was at the Grovers house... I think before the character of Will had ever been cast)? Maybe I read your post too fast. Apologies.
  7. Raja-- With all due respect, Mittengirl was asking why Grace used the title "Mr." for Grover, when she should've known (& probably did know) that his professional title was "Captain", since Grover works with her Dad, Danny. I just put it down to forgetful writing, or nobody caught the "Mr." vs. "Captain" error. (Shrugs)
  8. They mentioned in tonight's Ep--the hostage-taking at Grace & Will's school dance--that Chin's niece, Sara, is 6. Kono mentioned it when she & Chin were talking after he finished doing the Microsoft version of FaceTiming with her, towards the beginning of the ep. But we still don't know how old Londyn Silzer, the actress who plays her, is.
  9. The 1st quote (about "a special place", etc.) is from a People magazine article, from earlier this week, that I posted a link to upthread. It's in regards to whether or not Trump plans to exercise his right to redecorate the White House (as in like his Trump Tower apartment is decorated) once he takes office. Thankfully, he claims there'll only be a little touching up because the White House is a special place (thank heaven he apparently recognizes that) & so, he says, "you don't wanna do too much touching."
  10. As I remember, the person who wrote the article even made note of the wording in light of what he's been charged with.
  11. And VP-Elect Pence is now heading the transition team, according to multiple, credible sources. Christie's out.
  12. Actor Robert Vaughn, who had a recurring role in the Mothership as the wealthy bipolar businessman Carl Anderton, who turned from being a friend of DA Adam Schiff's to being his nemesis--because of a case involving his grandson, who also was bipolar--died today at age 83, from acute leukemia. I sort of hope 1 of the channels will air his eps as a tribute. He was especially good in the 1st; just mean in the 2nd.
  13. Hey @blackwing... Your post posted, like, 3 times. You could edit out a couple of them.
  14. This was Bobby's first time as a competitor. He's judged multiple times, including in the eps to select his competitors in this ep.
  15. Spoiler about Chin's upcoming birthday & the return of Sang Min, apparently among others, for the party. It's the last Q&A in the column. From Entertainment Weekly's Spoiler Room. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/11/11/spoiler-room-blacklist-flash-blindspot
  16. From TVGuide: Hawaii Five-0 Boss Addresses Alex O'Loughlin's Potential Departure NOTE: CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS, OR THINGS WHICH MIGHT BE SPOILERS TO SOME READERS. BUT IT'S MOSTLY AN INTERVIEW. http://www.tvguide.com/news/hawaii-five-0-alex-oloughlin-leaving-peter-lenkov-danny-grover/?ftag=TVG_Twitter
  17. Claire Forlani's character, former FBI Profiler Alicia Brown, will be returning in a February episode. Elisabeth Röhm's serial killer character, Dr. Madison Gray, will also be returning before the end of the season--it sounds to me like they return in the same ep, but it's also not necessarily clear that they do. http://www.tvguide.com/news/hawaii-five-0-season-7-spoilers-mcgarrett-serial-killer-claire-forlani/
  18. @MulletorHater: I think/hope this is the right thread to respond to this. Anyway... Trump apparently doesn't plan to do much, if any, redecorating of the WH. He says he "might touch it up a little, but that it's a special place & you don't wanna do too much touching." http://people.com/home/donald-trumps-plans-for-white-house/
  19. Tiffany's old enough to not HAVE to move to the White House; she's 23. Plus she's not even Melania's daughter, she's Marla's.
  20. The same thing happened where I live. A man who had Cancer was running to keep his longtime "At Large" seat on our City Council. He died Friday & was re-elected to office in Tuesday's election. Now the local branch of his party has to caucus & pick someone to replace him, at least for now. I'm still not sure if the replacement takes the office until the next regularly scheduled election where the term is up, or if it's just until a special election can be held to get a permanent replacement.
  21. We've never been told how old Doris is supposed to be. Though I don't think early 60's is entirely unbelievable for a CIA operative--especially since Doris seems to keep herself in good shape, which I think would be important in a job like that. In real life, Christine Lahti--who plays Doris--is 66. In the show, the tombstone of Steve's dad, John McGarrett (which has been seen in the show more than once), shows the life dates of March 15, 1942-September 20, 2010 (the show's premiere date; the character was murdered in the Pilot). So he was 68 when he died. I think Doris was probably younger than John. I just don't know how much younger.
  22. I think Lou & Frank have already had at least 1 scene together--but there's always room for more scenes together. I wasn't sure, when I originally posted, how many eps JB had been in, so I put what I remembered: Eps 210 & 420--the S2 ep involved Frank helping the team get a kidnapped Steve out of North Korea & Wo Fat's clutches, & the S4 ep involved Frank helping Steve & Catherine get back the real remains of Steve's SEAL team member & then-BFF, Freddie Hart, who was killed during an op involving the Hesse brothers in North Korea. So... I just went & Googled the Frank Bama character & the show. It turns out Frank was also in Ep 518. That's the ep where Danny & Chin were both jailed--Danny in Colombia & Chin in Hawaii--for their involvement with (& killing of) Marco Reyes, the guy Danny's idiot brother, Matt, was laundering money for, stole money from, & was eventually killed by. I forgot the team enlisted Frank's help to get Danny out of the Colombian prison (as I remember, Chin was released from jail in Hawaii after Gabriel killed IA Investigator Coughlin, who had it in for Chin as far back as when he was suspected of stealing from the HPD Asset Forfeiture Locker; since Gabriel killed Coughlin, there was no case against Chin & he had to be released from custody). Now that I remember Frank was in that ep, which was after Grover joined Five-0, I seem to remember Grover snarking the chopper Frank had acquired since S4--when the chopper in S2 got destroyed by some weird buzzards. The S5 chopper, as I remember, was perhaps newer but no less dilapidated than the chopper used in S2 to rescue Steve. If Grover didn't snark Frank's chopper, there was something else that was snarked between them. I also read something on Social Media about Terry O'Quinn also being on set recently. But I don't know if he's in the same ep as Jimmy Buffett. As pretty much all of us know though, Terry's character, Joe White, is the guy who introduced Frank to the team/enlisted his help in rescuing Steve in the first place.
  23. MSNBC just gave NV to Hillary--6 Electoral College whatevers.
  24. MSNBC hasn't called Pennsylvania for ANYONE yet. They did say he's apparently leading there right now though.
  25. Alaska still hasn't been called--or closed voting. It's probably not important, but it's also still available.
