I live in California, so that cutting board would be hard to use. But I love my Iowa board. It is a very useful shape. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. I think they have all states.

That little girl in pink looks like her body is wearing a head that is too large. Is it the perspective, or does she really have a really large head? I personally know a woman who is of short stature and has a larger-than-normal head, and she looks out of proportion just like this. Unfortunately it is the first thing you notice about her.

O.K. I finally did it and "cut the cord" with my cable company. I switched my telephone land line to Ooma - which is a VOIP that is inexpensive and very good quality-and had a small antenna put on my roof. I can pull in 39 stations where I live with HD quality. I signed up for HULU live so I can get all my sports stations. Hulu live also records programs. I have Amazon Prime and NetFlix. I also bought the brand new Amazon Fire Cube, which is simply amazing. Tell it to turn on the TV and open a program by name, and it will find it. It also works as a regular Amazon Echo, so I can tell it to play a certain radio station, or a genre of music. Or just ask any questions. It works as an alarm clock and timer, also. Then I broke down and added the brand new Amazon Recast which provides a great program guide for antenna programs. It also records off the air. It also automatically switches between tv inputs for antenna and the other apps. I figure my savings from the cable company will pay for my new equipment in about 4 months. Our local cable company has the best internet, but that is all I'm paying for from them now. I'm loving not having to use several remotes to operate my TV. My voice, and occasionally the small FireCube remote, are all I need. By the way, the Ooma phone system has the best call blocking I have ever had. I'm set for Saturday.

I have boxes of pictures (snap shots) and several photo albums dating from the 1920's from both of my parent's families. They seemed to have been very prolific with the camera. My parents are in their 90's and I feel so fortunate to have SO MANY pictures from their childhoods. The front steps of my mother's house was the most popular background in her family. I have another whole huge box of pictures of me from the time I was born (early 50's). I understand that most families did not take this many pictures, but my family sure did. Until my brother was born. There are not many pictures of him at all. I guess it pays to be the first-born.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp

I just Googled "nose ring and fertility", and apparently it is a thing with some people. Piercing the left nostril is supposed to ease cramps and childbirth pain. Is this common in their circle? -
I read a book about how to fold and store clothes. I fold everything, even underwear. My drawers and closet are picture-perfect neat, and have been ever since I started folding. Now, I really wish the rest of my house was this neat. I inherited some furniture, so I have much too much, and I like books and collections, and there are at least a million cat toys. My house is at least clean, if not actually neat.....sort of the lived-in look. But my drawers and closet stay very neat and tidy with very little effort, thanks to folding.

I think Jill is watching his classes because she is accountability partner. She's just keeping an eye on him.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

"Lead butt' reminds me of my great-aunt's mother-in-law. She was ancient when I was young, and had been married, I don't know, maybe 5 times. She told me she left her last husband because he had "tiredness of the butt". I haven't thought about her for a long time. She was really a kick. -
I recently read an interesting biography/autobiography written by George Burns and his daughter. She was going to write a book about her parents and found an autobiography that her father had stated but never finished or published. It was a very good read. Apparently Gracie was an extremely talented person. "Because I Love Her, That's Why!" is the title.

I agree with @Happyfatchick about Tricare. It is well deserved by our folks in Service. My elderly parents are on Tricare thanks to my father's Navy service in WWII, Korea, and years in the Navy Reserves. They have complete coverage for any medical bills, and they can apparently see any doctor and hospital they wish. My brother is handling their bills at this point, but I don't think there has been any problem with paperwork. It also includes their prescription coverage. Of course, they are both in their 90's now, and I think it acts as a Medicare supplement , but I'm not sure about that. I just know so far we haven't had to worry about meds or doctor bills.

So, I came home from my (cold) trip to Iowa, and I did indeed open the Instant Pot box. I read all the directions carefully, and today I made mac and cheese with gluten-free pasta. It was so simple! Then I made corned beef and cabbage. I was so surprised that the cabbage was not greasy like it is when I cook it on the stove top. I think I'm going to like this Insta Pot thing. It really is easy cooking and easy cleanup. After I finish the corned beef and vegetables, I may try a small roast. I also made (for the first time) baked oatmeal in my countertop oven. That came out very good, too. Today's cooking efforts should last me a week!

It makes me happy to hear you say that you have had such a good car experience. I'm sure mine was just a lemon but it has "soured" me on Toyota forever.
-
I made the huge mistake of buying a first-year Toyota Highlander. Worst car I ever had. Nothing but problems, including having the air conditioner back up and flood the inside of the car. I ended up having to add Freeon every 6 months because there was a leak under the dash that no one could find. Started driving Hondas in 1981, and still do, except for the one Toyota. I started with the 1981 Civic hatchback, moved to the accord wagon (I wish they still made that model), and I'm driving my second CRV now. Never a mechanical problem ever. They just keep going. I also found out how well they are built when I was hit from the side. Crumple zones worked perfectly.

RE: browsers I really like Opera much better than Chrome. It is very stable, uncluttered, and easy to use. It has an ad blocker that is easy to switch off and on when you need to. It also has a VPN which you can turn on. So far, I have never had any trouble. I access Ancestry frequently with no problem. Just my $0.02.

OH, boy!! I will try this as soon as I get home. Thank you @MargeGunderson.

Thanks @lookyloo and @MargeGunderson. I don't usually do any social media, but I will check out your suggestions. As soon as get back into town I will try something. I would like to try a small roast, but I have some chicken quarters in the freezer that I will try, too. I'm looking forward to this adventure. I've heard so much about the Instant Pot, I decided I needed to get in on the "action"! Can you do a corned beef brisket?
-
OK, so I bought an Instant Pot. Now what do I do with it? I don't know where to start. Are there recipes available somewhere? I would like to do a roast, or chicken, or soup, or----something. Any suggestions?

The Other Duggars: The Lost Girls and Amy

There have been comments about Jenny's stomach looking bloated in other pictures in the past. It really does look abnormal. I certainly hope someone (anyone?) is paying attention to her. -
I highly recommend the Milliard Foam Leg Elevator Pillow available on Amazon for $49.99. It proved to be a lifesaver for me when I had to stay elevated after knee surgery. It has a channel to support your leg, is actually very comfortable, and made lying around with my foot up much easier. It comes with a removable, washable cover. For me, it really was worth every penny. It made following the Dr.'s orders much easier! Good luck, and lots of hugs!!!!!!

Kraft makes it. I use it instead of breadcrumbs when I make meatloaf. The house brand at both markets that I shop at is also in a green-labeled container. It is next to the prepared Ragu-type sauce. I much prefer fresh grated from the deli, but this works well as a filler in gluten-free recipes. Thanks, @AussiesRule. You beat me to it. -

I took it to mean a can, or "jar" of the grated stuff in the green container. -

I was the Activities Director at a nursing home for one summer while the actual Activities Director was on vacation. I actually loved the job, but it was a lot of hard work. There were specific programs to run, such as arts and crafts, current events discussions, music and singing time, game time with board games and card games, and hosting visiting speakers or performers. I had to help transport a lot of wheelchairs and walkers to said activities, and took time to visit with family members and friends as well as the residents. It is certainly not just a "make time" job if you do it correctly. It is also a job that is greatly appreciated by the residents and other employees. The Activities Director is an important person in a nursing home/assisted living situation, and not everyone can do it well. Good for Amy if this is something that she really loves. I'm sure it is appreciated.
