Was the hair dept. on strike and finally crossed the picket lines because Sami, Nicole, Abby--all had very nice and more flattering do's today. Edited to add: Apparently the wardrobe dept. hates Jennifer as much as we do because what in the world was that outfit she had on? The bell-bottoms on her pants have migrated up her legs and her top looked like the fabric came from pediatric scrubs. It was a home-made nightmare and more so in comparison to Sami, Nicole, and Abby's more high end dresses.

Makes you wonder if EJ and Sami will be gone by the time the affair finally comes out. At the rate they are going, Abby will have some downfall for something 2 years from now and they'll just throw in the bit about her sleeping with EJ to wrap everything up. I guess Will shooting EJ instead of Lucas will be made public some day after he's off the show too. Are there any other long forgotten secrets that the show would like to drudge up even though the characters are no longer on screen???

I hope we get Noel as a bigger character role this season. I'd like to know if he only dated Jenna to keep an eye on her for Allie. Has he been on Allie's "payroll" all along--first dating Mona for intel, then Jenna, then some other job for Allie that she had to bring Shauna to town to take over dating Jenna???

Sadly with the amount of air time KM has been given this year we should all have alcohol poisoning by now.

If we were all gathered at the Brady Pub watching the show, what reoccurring phrases or instances (things specific to Salem and the Salemites but not necessarily the real world) could be grounds for a drink? Add to the list as you think of things or watch the show and feel free to post if you think a particular episode would have us all drunk by the end of the hour. I'll start off the list with two items/examples: Take a drink every time Theresa tells Brady they just need "to take the edge off." (It happened in yesterday's show but I've noticed she says that a lot) Take a drink every time someone has a private conversation rather loudly in public.

Ken Corday is the son of Ted and Betty Corday who started Days. So I guess the question is....Is Ken burnt out and needs to pass the torch onto someone else? Is he simply keeping it going for the sake of his parents's legacy? He's been in the business a long time so if he hates his job that much it's kind of pathetic.

That would actually explain a lot of the inconsistent writing and storylines that turn up on screen. How sad though, they could have a great show if the right people were in place. Many of the actors/actresses are very good when given something to work with.

That whole scene of Sami pleading with Abby to be the wedding planner was so contrived. If Sami doesn't know and that wasn't part of her plan then the writing on this show is going down hill faster than I thought. Not even going to touch on how ridiculous it was that they wouldn't hire a professional one or that Abby would know what the hell she was even doing, especially on such short notice. I mean seriously, Abby is Jen's PR assistant at the hospital--how does that possibly make her qualified to be a wedding planner as Sami tried to convince her? Now Sami has had enough wedding that I might get someone trying to enlist her help with wedding details but Abby can't even coordinate her own birth control.

So that would have been about the same time or right after they filmed all the EJabby sex....hmmm. Guess JS saw his daytime future with KM and didn't like it any better than most of the viewers.

I too think they work better than any current couples do, but I can’t say it’s because I missed their more unsavory scenes. I saw the car rape when it aired; I didn’t find it particularly shocking. Perhaps because in comparison to so many of the other rapes in Salem it was implied more than it was detailed; it was coerced rather than violent. In the end it felt more like a hokey plot twist to get Sami pregnant with twins by two different men, another poor (and ill thought out) writing decision on the part of the writers in a long line of ones to come. So it should be a testament to the chemistry between JS and AS that the couple has a strong fan following and are still one of the more intriguing characters on the show despite all the bad writing they’ve endured. While I agree that no one character can make or break a show, I also agree that AS and JS’s simultaneous departures could cause the show to take a hit for two factors that should concern TPTB but I suspect only one of them does. First, daytime ratings have been struggling for years and soaps have died off left and right. Second, because of this it’s imperative that the writers spin some more interesting/engaging stories and create more pairing between actors that actually have chemistry together. That’s not happening. and that could be a big problem next time they are up for renewal. Speaking personally, right now EJ/Sami are largely why I tune in because no one else is all that interesting. Kayla is rarely seen and without Steve anyway; Belle/Shawn/Philip are out of town; Bo is gone and Hope’s pairing with Aiden is a dud; Theresa and Brady started out with potential but the writers don’t seem to have much vision with them. The fact that they tried to force KM as a lead actress onto the viewers worse than EJ forced himself onto Sami either displays the stupidity of TPTB or the desperateness of them. Did they really think Abby would fly as a fan favorite? Even if she hadn’t come between EJ and Sami, annoying a certain percentage of the viewers, she’s been on the show for years and hadn’t shined in any other SL they’d given her. All of the fan favorites that I can recall were favorites pretty much off the bat, their potential evident in their early months on the show.

The new motto in Salem apparently is When the Going Gets Tough, the Men Cheat! When it all blows up in their faces, I wonder if Rafe and EJ will go out for a beer together. Probably not though.

After watching today’s episode all I’m left with is… Why do so many grown adults with their own beds have sex on the couch? Why do the women leave their bra on? Does Rafe really think that sexing up Kate is going to make him get over his pity party and solve any of his problems? Hello dumbass you just created more. While Jordan mostly bores me I feel bad for a girl whose boyfriend (who has told you he loves you and kept you from leaving town at least twice now) cheats on you with a much older woman with blue hair. If EJ wants his secret affair with Abby to stay a secret, why do they argue about it in public? And finally, if Sami isn’t messing with Abby’s head than the writers are blowing a huge opportunity and pissing off the viewers with these fake outs.

Did Abby seriously tell Ben she was a “low maintenance girl?” Really?!. He’d better go talk to EJ...fast! Run Ben, run!

I liked Eve during her original run—she was a great tormentor to Kimberly Brady. But I fail to see her place in Salem now, and I can’t get on board with the recast. And since the writers are terrible with staying true to character history, I almost expect them to butcher this one too. Agree they have blown so much potential and possibility with EJ’s flip-flopping. Showing him struggle to some degree gives him a nice degree of grayness but the writers haven’t executed it well the majority of the time. I’ll miss JS but I can’t blame him, as an actor, for wanting to get out. One of the biggest current problems with this show is that the writers don’t seem to understand the characters that they write for.

Can’t stand Kristin. Can’t stand Nicole anymore. Can Kristin kidnap her, never bring her back, and then disappear herself? Please! Yuk, another woman falls into Dirty Dan’s bed. How original! Oh lord no, please don’t tell me they are going to go there again?!?! If Rafe is going to cheat, why can’t it be with Hope??!! Based off these spoilers, this show just keeps getting worse and worse. I finally quite throwing up on my TV when the Ejabby sex fest ended and how I see I’m going to need Rolaids again between Kate and Rafe sex and Daniel and Eve sex along with the skankiness that comes with Kristin.

I also like EJ. Agree that he is charismatic, amusing, and the sexiest “bad man” in a long time on this show. (For long time viewers who might remember him, I also loved Orpheus back in the ‘80’s and rooted for him against Mr. Smell the Farts.) I don’t think the show will be as interesting when EJ is gone. There just aren’t many other characters that have the complexities and potential that EJ’s character has. I hated the whole affair crap with Abby but at this point I’ll chalk it up to bad writing by writers that can’t write for most of the show’s characters. I watched when Sami was with Lucas and at one time I thought they had chemistry together, but I think she has more with EJ. At this point I prefer Sami and Lucus as good friends. I’m sure there is someone out there that Lucas could have outstanding chemistry with (not Sheryl though) where he could be a part of a more front and center couple.
