  1. What?! I don't see it.. Has he been acting inappropriately with his children? If so, I missed that scene. I also don't think Kyle was "checking in on them", it seemed like an advertisement to me. Don't they have some show together- The Agency or such? Or did that get cancelled.
  2. Well, no one will read this, as it's an off-season, but I'm so excited I had to share. I met Alaska! Ms. AS2 queen herself! She was AMAZING, and extremely nice and complimentary. I was a blabbering idiot, because Alaska (as ya'll know) has always been my fave. Then promptly ruined my phone and lost selfies. Blergh. ETA: I ruined my phone and lost the selfies w/ Alaska. Alaska didn't ruin my phone- ha.
  3. I think Erika is gorgeous! Can see why she's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love her look. (That's all the in-depth commentary that this episode deserved.) Enjoyed seeing Camille for whatever reason.
  4. Ariana didn't annoy me for once! And I found FI to be incredibly crass discussing his lack of sex life with Ari in front of her brother and on camera. Try a haircut Tom! Maybe you'll get laid then. Hearing about how he has to masturbate was the height of reality TV. Ugh. And I accidentally quoted this post because yes, Kristin is in great shape for her lifestyle.
  5. Ariana's blogs are always horrible and condescending. Liked her in the last episode though.
  6. I, like GiGi, have Hashimoto's. Luckily, my thyroid tumor was benign, but I still have to get monthly blood tests and ultrasounds to monitor my tumor's growth. And everyone with this disease experiences different symptoms. (As with most diseases.) I've lost a lot of weight- and I didn't have much to lose to begin with. It sucks for a multitude of reasons- the most being the energy loss and gastrointestinal problems that make you not hungry/not want to eat. "There is nothing remotely attractive about a woman that looks like a Happy Meal would kill her," Please. Some of us are just happy to be alive. My partner has found me attractive at both my pre-sick and sick weights. Shockingly, he cares more if I'm healthy than what my body looks like. Why insult one group of body-types to glorify another? I will never understand this. If I get banned for this, so be it, but I find it ridiculous that any feminist could get behind this broad sentiment. It's just another way to pit women against each other- too fat, too thin, not a real woman, looks like a little boy, hard to be a 10 when you're flat-chested. The problem as I see it, is not women's bodies-the problem lies when we insult women's bodies based on our own preferences. It gives the impression that a woman's body is public domain and it's purpose is to be attractive to men. I reject this notion and sorry, but I'll call it out every time I see it. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but this ever- increasing rhetoric that thin women aren't "real" women and "look like little boys" and "aren't remotely attractive" is just as harmful as saying "fat women aren't remotely attractive". Each side of the aisle can say what they want, but this "real woman" is tired of hearing what "real men" want naked women to look like. Some men drool over VS models, some men drool over "amateur porn*"- that's all fine and well, but why insult the "opposite" body-type in the process?
  7. I'll chime in. My completely unknowing opinion is that Shannon and David got into a fight while drinking. The fight continued back at home. Likely some verbal abuse and a possible act of physical abuse (i.e. David threw something that hit Shannon, or David pushed Shannon into a wall, etc.) then David stormed off, and locked Shannon out of the room he was in. Shannon was pissed and upset and tried to drunkenly pound against the door. Most likely hysterically begging him to apologize. Someone (Shannon?) called the police. One of them had to get arrested. David plead...guilty(?) which is pretty astounding for someone so rich. Now none of that could be true, this is just an example of marital violence. There are so many different forms of dating/ marital violence, it's a total we'll never know situation. Honestly, I believe it's all in the past, and I don't really care if Shannon lies about it. A lot of domestic violence plays out much differently than a television show depicts. The common idea seems to be a man yelling that his wife hasn't cooked him dinner and her running away from him cowering. None of the survivors I've known have lived that story, except maybe J Lo's character in whatever movie that was. Uh, reunion- was boring and Andy did look offended. I wouldn't be shocked if Vicki was homophobic. I'm probably not allowed to speculate on that. Feel free to ignore this very off-topic post.
  8. My partner loves this show. I think its entertaining/funny sometimes, but I don't buy Gretchen and Jimmy as a couple at all. To have them get married would be completely unrealistic IMO. Also, does Gretchen have a job? Jimmy is such a snob I can't see him enjoying Gretchen's petty stupid hobbies. I don't see the chemistry, I dislike both characters. I don't buy the relationship, except that no one else will date them. If Gretchen takes J back after this, she's a sap. The theme song says it all. Loved seeing Paul finally stand up for himself, though. And loved that Edgar was going well.
  9. You guys are right. Kelly really is stupid. Comparing her husband to Hitler because he read her emails. Ugh. Yes that really grasps the magnitude of the latter situation.
  10. Apropos of nothing, I thought that Phaedra looked great in the last episode. Even good enough to procure the ultimate goal- no not a law degree, not any business success, not raising two great children,- but a huzzbin.
  11. Ben's too old to even use the excuse or have the lovely distinction of being part of the special snowflake generation. That generation is mine dammit! Not Ben's! No! Mine! Mine! Mine! Ben is apparently 35 (born 1980) according to this random website: http://www.famousbirthdays.com/people/benjamin-robinson.htmlhttp://www.famousbirthdays.com/people/benjamin-robinson.html I do think most of his dramatics are real, but played up for TV's sake. Somehow TV has decided that chefs are freaking angry tantrum throwers- thanks Gordon Ramsey. He's a wealthy white male from a privileged background, so I'm not shocked that he has a hard time when things don't go his way. I haven't seen his latest tantrum, but I've seen a lot of his tantrums, and I don't find them threatening. I know he can make snarky comments, but if I worked with him I don't think I would be afraid of him-more like entertained. Though who knows? Maybe the other employees are scared of/intimidated by him. I remember Sierra falling apart over something he said or didn't say to her, but can't remember any specifics.
  12. Yes! I may be getting repetitive- delete me if I am, but I have "lied" about physical abuse before (years ago) from omission to outright coverup. Sorry, but no one's business. I'm not telling the town gossip that is friends to no one but herself. Or in some cases I didn't want you to worry about me and thought I was protecting you. Being the victim in a DV case can't be compared to being complicit in a fake cancer scheme IMO. Vicki makes herself look like an idiot calling Shannon a liar and it makes me sick. Not for Shannon specifically, but for survivors of domestic/sexual assault. These women and men are victims who often- if not always- lose some sense of control in their own lives in the most personal of ways. If they want to control their own narratives- then so what? How does that influence Vicki's life? A decent person would understand this, IMO. I don't give a crap if Shannon is on reality TV. I don't give a crap if she answered questions on several occasions and then didn't want to talk about it anymore. That's her right in this case. If sexual assault perpetrators are getting away with thinly veiled excuses why are we holding the victims to a higher standard? If my boss calls out and tells me she's sick, and then another coworker tells me she can't come in because her husband tried to kill himself last night, does that make my boss a liar? Even if she tells the entire office and answers questions about it before I come in? Bigger question- who cares? Have empathy you idiot (meaning Vicki). Vicki is lower than dirt right now. A true narcissist. Something is seriously wrong with her. I can't even believe this shit. ETA: And yes Shannon and co. did lose some points for other behavior, but on this one I give her her complete rights to control her own narrative. There's a public report on my incident, people can look it up if they know the defendant's name. That doesn't mean that if I don't disclose the report to everyone that I know- that I'm (gasp) lying. Sorry for the rant. It's been ten plus years and I don't talk about it, because I see what happens when women do talk about it. I bet Shannon regrets those interviews now (which I haven't read). I would. Tired of seeing women dragged through the mud (not here- referring to the show) for how they choose to handle their personal histories with any type of violence. And for the record, I have known of at least four friends or family members that have been the victim of isolated "incidents" - all were women at the hands of men. All of them went on for at least a few years posting happy marriage pics on Facebook etc. Are they liars? I don't care- no one knows what goes on in a relationship beyond the two involved.
  13. I love you, but IMO David is solely responsible for what some people may now believe about him. Yes, I think Shannon did what many women did/do in these situations and minimized the incident in interviews. For some reason- in general this doesn't sit well with other women. You're generally called a liar. It's a confusing situation, and you want to protect the person you love or how people perceive you or what they know about your private life. You're generally confused about yourself, and your self-esteem has taken a huge hit. It's such a gray area, but I give Shannon a pass for pretty much any behavior or response she chooses regarding the DV incident, because I have yet to meet the woman or man who responds perfectly after the storm.
  14. For some reason the quote did not copy. However, I don't think Shannon is being a drama queen in saying how hurtful the accusation was. I was in a very similar situation to Shannon- minus the children and a few decades- and to have that brought up as gossip fodder and fuel to hurt me would bother the shit out of me. It feels like a double betrayal. I don't think a woman should ever use another woman's history of abuse as an insult or an intended slight. I think Kelly's a POS for saying what she did, and V is a POS for gossiping about it. Yes Shannon has talked about it in the media, but under her own guidelines and under her control. This is important for victims to feel some control regarding their histories with trauma. IMO. (And for the record, I was not the one to call the police- which seems like something that keeps getting brought up about Shannon, so I just wanted to clarify that.) I had zero control over anything in my situation. And for the record, the DV incident was by far the easiest part to get over. What was much harder, was how I was treated by the police and how I was treated by society (I told one friend because I needed a different address to stay at for the night- after that, I went off the grid completely for a few years.) Not one of my "best friends for life" stood by me. The way that women treat each other can be really shitty. The way the police and DOJ treat the victim can be even more shitty because they're supposed to serve and protect (and at the time I was young enough to still believe that). The treatment by law enforcement was horrific and caused horrible PTSD- which is very common for abused women. A fight with one person is easy to get over, but knowing that even the police were treating me like shit and not protecting me was eye-opening to the ways of the world. I don't think most non-victims can possibly understand how your life changes dramatically in all aspects. The people you think will stand up for you- don't. It's not like in the movies where your girlfriends all want to protect you and the police give a damn.
  15. Oh that makes me feel old! I liked the reunion format, and everyone looked on point. Adore seems off still, but I have no idea whats going on with that.
  16. Something is way off about Michael Dodd clearly, but for his wife to put his personal medical history on blast? Maybe he should sue her. Honestly though, I'd like to see the receipts on this NPD diagnosis. Kelly's word is worthless to me. Sometimes an asshole is just as asshole. No need for embellishment or labels. Kelly in her own regard is way off. If my spouse shared my medical history on TV it'd be grounds for divorce. Yet Kelly seems so proud of the NPD thing. Perpetual victim, indeed.
  17. YAS GOD! All is right with the world of Ru. FINALLY!! I feel like I've been waiting for this since S5... I never got Katya before this season. I have to say I "get" her now. And I adore her. Though I usually hate her runway (ducks rotten tomatoes). Hated Alaska's blue look btw. Detox got MUCH better and matured. Roxxxy- in over her head.
  18. I apologize if this was meant for me, since I think I'm the only one that didn't think Alaska was smug. I think I'm the only Alaska apologist on the board. I didn't mean to "call anyone out". I don't care if other people have opinions that are different than mine. I didn't see any smugness at the time, but I didn't hate on anyone that did. I'm not going to apologize for having an alternate opinion, but I will always apologize if my tone comes across rudely.
  19. Hate. Alaska's reaction vid to losing Season 5, her behavior tonight, knowing she'll be ripped to shreds. The Roxxxy save. I can't anymore. I'm having an Alaska bratty meltdown at home- and I know it doesn't make me look good. Dammit.
  20. I definitely think that Ru has the power to veto the queens nominations. I'm sure the lipsynch "winner" is based on who the queen would have sent home for example, and I'm sure if Ru wants a different outcome he makes it happen. I can't see him letting go control so easily. On regular seasons this is a person who makes it a point to say they've consulted with the judges but the final choice is theirs. No way Ru would really give up control. If Ru was dead-set on Tatiana being the winner then Tatiana would be there regardless of what Alaska wanted/thought no doubt in my mind. This is completely the opposite of what I expected to happen based on how Alaska seemed to recognize the Rolaskax downfall of her season. And how she's cozy with Willam now. WTF? Blergh.
  21. WTF Alaska? I feel like this is a test that she keeps failing. I do think Ru chooses the "winner" based on who they would've sent home. Roxxy doesn't even seem like she wants to be there. Urgh.
  22. That damn Rolaskatox alliance that everyone seems to be in on. If everyone is afraid to send Roxy home then whatever. Keep some weak sauce in the competition. Ugh. We're going to have to start adding Alyssa, Katya, Tati and everyone else that has saved Roxy's wonderful ass. Let me come back when I find a moniker that includes all of those names... Roxy was completely dreadful. I understand that she had the hardest job, but it doesn't matter- 3rd time in the bottom three! Come on. Though I think Roxy's runway is the best left, and her personality is cute, and she knows her strengths...she should've gone home for sure. That lipsynch was epic. Nothing to say about PhiPhi *Rolaskatatiyalyssasox- best I can do. I suck.
  23. AS1 was basically a vehicle/ make up to give Chad Michaels his due. AS2... well what can I say that hasn't been said before? I think we needed Alyssa to go to give some interest to the Ruvenge angle. I have to admit, I wasn't that interested in seeing Coco or Ginger come back. At least Alyssa has some star power and her Alyssa'a Secret fan base.
  24. Very true. It seemed out of character for Shelby to run off into the woods after seeing the woman get up and walk away. It seems out of character for anyone Shelby-ish (opposed to Angela Bassett's character) to be on the phone with their husband- hit someone, and not scream, "Oh my God I just hit someone!" But everyone does act differently and unexpectedly in emergencies/ shocking situations. If I were in that situation, I'd be scared out of my mind and be calling the police ASAP. Daytime is one thing, but nighttime + woods + previous scary incidents that caused me to flee my home in the middle of the night= aw hell no! Or at least I'm grabbing my cellphone! Plus, we had to advance the plot somehow.
  25. I found the episode to be predictable from A to Z . Well obviously! They did pull out the oldest cliche in the book with the whole "sinking their savings into a strange house they stumble upon while walking in the woods." But even the whole cop gets into painkillers and someone who deserves it is shot, badge is lost. When was the last time we saw a cop on TV that didn't have a drinking or substance abuse problem? (Law and Order doesn't count.) Even the dialogue of "We were the couple that everyone wanted to be, they argued in their car..." blah, blah. CA yoga teacher with gluten allergy and hubby with no substance that has a job that takes him away for long periods of time. Law enforcement that ignores the problem. Anyways, you all know what I mean. That being said I enjoyed watching it. I would watch Angela Basset read a phone book at this point. I wanted more between Angela and Sara Paulsen(son?) The stick thing I saw recently in another show (not Blair Witch)- same thing all strung up around the house (I won't spoil it, but there was some mythology behind it in the show that was kind of interesting.) I think that kind of lessened the impact for me. Loved the format. Miss "There's nothing wrong with getting the hell out of the way", fight or flight response runs into the dark woods after a creepy figure, and says nothing to her husband on her phone? Leaves her phone in the car? ARGH! It wouldn't be horror if the characters didn't run towards danger at all costs I suppose. But at least tell your husband there's been an accident!
