Thanks for the reminder about the Aussie Open! I've been so slammed at work the past couple of weeks that I seem to have forgotten the outside world exists. Even though I don't get to watch much of it because of the time difference the Australian Open is my favorite of the grand slams. Why? Not sure other than it seems to have a much more laid back vibe than the other three and it's always a nice way to start the year.

I'm still in shock over the $1,800 a month college allowance. I know times have changed (I graduated from college in 1987) but my monthly allowance was exactly zero and in my first job after graduating I took home only $900 a month yet still managed to pay my share of the rent, groceries, utilities, etc.

The Stanley Cup will be here in Orlando later this month when the Solar Bears host the ECHL All Star Game and as a season ticket holder I'll get a chance to "meet" the cup and have my picture taken with it!!! You and me both. I'm an Olympics junkie but these days wish the games would revert back to simpler times where the emphasis was on the competition and the athletes, not the flashy shows and opening numbers.

I just saw part of the Millionaire Matchmaker episode featuring Jill's daughter Ally and holy shit, Jill came across as so desperate for attention and camera time that you'd think she was the one trying to get set up on a date. I was actually embarrassed for her and I can't stand the woman.
