  1. Perhaps I'm showing my age but to me Brian Keith will always be Uncle Bill from "Family Affair."
  2. I like the show for what it is and take it with a grain of salt. Are the brothers more actors than a realtor and a contractor? Probably, but it's entertainment so that's what I take from it.
  3. I finally watched the finale and I actually jumped off the couch and screamed with joy when I saw Amy and Maya running toward the finish line first. Usually my favorite team comes in fourth place so this was an actual thrill for me (and, no doubt, for them.) After Maya left the stunt place still in her uniform and they lost the lead I figured they were done but kudos to Amy for getting the shipping container task on the first try. Great finish to a very enjoyable season!
  4. I agree the stadium is a piece of shit and looks only slightly better in person than it does on TV but I just can't believe it's the main reason for any team or attendance issues, especially when there's been a pretty damn good product on the field for the past several years.
  5. A few months ago I came across an episode of 'Family Ties' and while most of the political talk is dated the overall show still looked and seemed fresh, which made me happy. Sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog.
  6. I've wondered the same thing. Good luck getting an accurate appraisal if that's the case.
  7. Their mother is absolutely adorable! What I didn't understand, though, is why a guest house is needed on the grounds of a 5,000sf main house where you'd think there'd be room for everyone inside. Did I miss an explanation of that?
  8. I fear you're correct and as a central Florida resident I'll keep saying (and believing) that the stadium is not the issue.
  9. In the past two days the Rays traded both Matt Joyce and Wil Myers. I don't think I like this dismantling of the team.
  10. My favorite outfit when I was in seventh grade (1977) included rainbow suspenders with rainbow colored toe socks. Oy. I cringe just thinking about it. My mother frequently wore jumpsuits with a head scarf, a la "Rhoda," to work.
  11. Hmm, maybe the "ahr" instead of "oor" is just a NYC/Long Island thing then.
  12. Even though I saw the ending coming from a mile away I still bawled like a baby. Damn you, NCIS, for making me cry at least twice this season.
  13. I am no fan of these two but after seeing Misti's dental practice website I must commend her for providing free treatment to those in need.
  14. Don't hit me but I say "Are" for Oregon. It's definitely a northeastern thing with a letter O and R combination such as where I live now, Florida, as I pronounce it Flahrida while those not from the northeast say it like Floor-ida.
  15. I didn't like "Family" for the sole reason that the brother irked the ever living hell out of me. Now "James At 15" was another story because I thought Lance Kerwin was cute!
  16. So did I and for that reason I was happy when Jim used one but not so much when Amy did.
  17. That house is just... fugly. I don't even like what they're doing to it.
  18. I love the brothers but I can't get into their At Home show as it's almost too much of them, and apparently I prefer it when there are other people involved as well.
  19. I loved that show! Anyone else from that era remember 'Bridget Loves Bernie' starring Meredith Baxter and her future husband David Birney?
  20. Forgive my ignorance but isn't 'Stanislaw' the proper Polish pronunciation of Stanislaus?
  21. I'm not a Phillies fan yet I'm sad to see Rollins go. How weird is he going to look in Dodger blue? Cha Cha DiGregorio, now that's great!! I need to find a picture of this guy since I have a soft spot for the Dutch, as well as for eye candy.
  22. I want the Cubs to do well because I love Joe Maddon but this just smells like desperation to me, like the Cubs need a big name pitcher and they're willing to spend whatever it takes to possibly get the only one available?
  23. Seriously. I think I've said it before but my mother couldn't push me out of the house fast enough when I left for college. Then again she had an actual career and wasn't in desperate need of a faux weepy storyline.
  24. I like reading other opinions because, to me, Eileen comes across very natural and comfortable and I thought she was being playful with her husband, not bitchy. But hey, time will tell!
  25. Is the opinion on Jon Lester that he's good enough to warrant the money the Cubs are allegedly throwing at him?
