  1. Can I please bitch about Christmas movies on both Hallmark channels starting 24/7 this coming Friday and lasting until December 31st?!?!? I thoroughly enjoy watching Hallmark Movies & Mysteries because I love Columbo, Matlock, Diagnosis Murder & Monk. They're apparently all gone for the next 2 fricking months!! Just today I ordered the "complete" Columbo series ($64 on Amazon), I've already got complete Monk. Is it just me or does anyone else agree this is absolutely ridiculous? Can't it wait until Thanksgiving Day to start?!? ETA: I'm sorry for disrupting your conversation about weight/clothes. I must say I'm disturbed that my 11 y.o. absolutely gorgeous Granddaughter is 4'10" and now weighs 110 lbs. I am NOT happy, but would never EVER say anything to her. Apparently this is against Grandmother Rules. I just make damn sure whenever she comes over that I have NO junk in my house.
  2. Love this one! Great song, too!
  3. Couldn't agree more, Walnutqueen! What I've been doing for many months now while watching damn near any show on ID is watching the first 5 minutes to learn the victim's name, then googling (sp?) to read about the outcome. Then I promptly delete the stupid show from my DVR. Saves countless hours of my time & I'm not pissed off at having lost those precious minutes! No muss, no fuss. Must admit I'll forever be spoiled by the half-hour format of Forensic Files and one of the best narrators that ever lived...Peter Thomas. On a positive note, there are 2 upcoming shows on A&E that I will be watching from start to finish: August 15th @ 9:00: the premiere of Leah Remini's 2nd season of her expose' on Scientology (which IS true crime, in my opinion), followed @ 10:00 by The Murder of Laci Peterson, where I believe someone will be interviewing her fucking scumbag husband who murdered her from San Quentin Death Row. Both shows must-see-TV for sure!
  4. Love this one, too, from Bush's Grillin' Beans!
  5. Love this one for Swiffer w/little girl chasing the frog!
  6. News today, posted by CNN: Barbara Sinatra, philanthropist and wife of the legendary singer Frank Sinatra, died on Tuesday at 90 years old. John Thoresen, director of the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center, told CNN Sinatra died of natural causes. She was surrounded by family and friends at her home in Rancho Mirage, California. The former model and Las Vegas showgirl married Sinatra in 1976 and was the last of his four wives. The couple were married for 22 years when the singer died of a heart attack in 1998. There's was the longest lasting of the singer's marriages. Barbara Sinatra, philanthropist and wife of the legendary singer Frank Sinatra, died on Tuesday at 90 years old. 7. Sad...just read that actor John Heard died yesterday @ 72 y.o. No COD yet. Loved him in The Sopranos and - of course - Home Alone. RIP John.
  8. You got it! All I could think was that I knew his name started with a "G". Shame on me, but there's just so damn many serial killers it's hard to recall.
  9. Trivia quiz for all you true crime lovers -- I've been watching "Cash Cab" every night on the Game Show Network, and one of the questions posed to the riders last night is this (they didn't know the answers & needed a street shout-out): "Named for an American film icon, what serial murderer of the 1970s was also known as the Killer Clown?" Damn if I couldn't recall his name, but I could picture him. Alright everyone - be honest - did you know it?
  10. Love this latest Geico ad - cracks me up every time.
  11. A Retiree's Last Trip To Costco Yesterday I was at Costco, buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Owen, the Wonder Dog and was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant? So because I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete, (certified), so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I had stopped to pee on a fire hydrant and a car hit me. Well, I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Costco won't let me shop there anymore. Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say.
  12. Off topic kinda sorta (but it IS true crime) -- Did you guys hear that the jurors are deadlocked in the Cosby trial? They've been deliberating for 30 hours. I'm feeling another OJ verdict comin' on. Unbelievable.
  13. Absolutely, WQ! That was one horrific program ("Hear No Evil") last night. Now I forget what state(s) it happened in, but no death penalty for that sick SOB? Did I miss something? Only solace is - as you said - someone, somewhere is raping his ass all the livelong day & night demanding he tells them to describe the pain. shudder
  14. LOVE that one, too, Chicricket!
  15. Thanks, QuinninND - my sentiments exactly.
  16. I plan to watch Bill Cosby-American on I.D. tonight. Comcast description: "The rise of TV legend Bill Cosby, who played doting father ...on the series "The Cosby Show", and the allegations that precipitated his fall from grace." Now this is a very sad story -- I really loved that show, and Bill Cosby. What an effing shame. I was heartbroken when the first allegations hit the news, but I figured they might be true. Men and their dicks...so sad some can't be tamed. After the show I'd love to hear what you guys & gals think.
  17. Love this new one for Milk Bones. (sorry - couldn't figure out how to imbed the video) https://www.ispot.tv/ad/wIfy/milk-bone-what-dogs-see
  18. jjj - I absolutely agree w/your post and about all the plot holes. However, it was just a TV show & we're forced to suspend belief at times. No matter, I think the writers did some great stuff in every season (not necessarily every episode). Who did you like better: Natalie or Sharona? BTW, I thought Sharona & Randy hooking up & him becoming a police chief wasn't very believable, either. ha!
  19. Did anyone watch "Monk-The End, Parts 1 & 2" yesterday? I did and cried like a baby. What a great series! Here's an article about it: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-monk-idUSTRE5B60YM20091207 Only one thing bothered me about the show and that was Randy Newman singing the theme song from Season 2 to the end. I just can't stand his voice, but the song itself (music) is great. However, I actually loved his "We're gonna miss you" song he wrote for the ending, coinciding with the montage of clips from the show throughout its 8-yr. run. Very well-done.
  20. One of my favorites was on this afternoon - "Mr. Monk and the Foreign Man" about the lady from Nigeria who was in San Francisco for a 2-week training seminar & became the victim of a hit & run. Her husband came over to grieve her death by sitting on the corner she stepped off before entering the street where she was killed. He burned incense and also played a type of flute, which "incensed" Monk when the smell wafted to his apartment. When Monk goes down to tell the guy to go someplace else, he explains to Monk what happened to his wife, and they obviously have a huge thing in common - the loss of their wives. Very touching - and at times funny - episode. Loved that black actor - he was phenomenal. I have Comcast and I'm now getting FOUR episodes each afternoon Mon. - Fri. Unfortunately, this Thursday they'll air "The End" - parts 1 and 2. Then they start off with Season 1, ep. 1. I absolutely LOVE Monk! As for Natalie or Sharona - I prefer Natalie. I never grew tired of hearing about Trudy, but must admit 12 years is far too long to grieve so terribly...but I rationalized that here's Monk - a celebrated detective who always gets the bad guy - and he couldn't even solve his own wife's murder. There was at least one episode where he seriously fell in "like" with a woman - the dancer from Russia who allegedly killed a cab driver. That was a great one, too!
  21. I first saw this commercial a few days ago, and immediately loved the catchy song playing in background -- had no idea who was singing it. Was shocked when I googled "Just another day" and found out it's Lady Gaga! Then I went on iTunes & bought it! Great song! Apparently it's been out for awhile, but they don't play in on the Sirius stations I listen to (50s on 5; 60s on 6 & the Sinatra station). Hey...cut me some slack -- I'm 66 y.o. :) Anyhow, kudos to Lady Gaga for this one.
  22. I did watch it, and I call bullshit on "new" evidence. I was MOST surprised by the end, where it stated that should Peterson's appeal be denied, he is scheduled for execution in 2021. HUH? I'll call bullshit on this, too, although I didn't go on San Quentin website to confirm. Anyone confirm this?
  23. Hockeymom - This post of yours is so terrific it deserves to "go green!" (x 2!). Beautifully said. Thank you!
  24. Absolutely agree w/you about editing, Awfarmington, and that thought occurred to me, too. The dynamics of the whole situation with TV personalities on a reality show -- I'm not sure we'll ever really know what goes on behind closed doors w/o the cameras rolling. I do hope both Amy and Matt find happiness because I believe they're both good people. Must say I was disturbed that Matt's gal friend showed up @ the reveal party...and that she was even invited. I agreed w/Amy's opinion that this was not the time to be "introducing" even a possible significant other to the family. I think Amy should get the hell outta dodge. This close proximity - for both of them - just isn't healthy. It's obvious Matt ain't going (moving away) anywhere. Take the money (and I've gotta believe it'd be a sizeable sum) & run, Amy.
