  1. (Above post abbreviated by me to save space! Andyourlittledog2 - OMG you have REALLY got a way with words! Succinct, to-the-point, and elegantly stated, I might add! I DVR'd this show but after (recovering from) reading your post I ran to my DVR & deleted it. I don't need to know anything else! TOO effin funny!!!!! Actually, I meant to say "eloquently" stated, but "elegantly" works just as well - ha! I've been up since 5 - I'm tired today.
  2. Tattle - I watched the first 15 minutes or so...until the scene where that nutcase got pissed off at the adorable kitty & was taking it into the bathroom. Soon as he shut the door I changed the channel. Also, horrible as it is to say, I didn't feel a whole lotta sympathy for the 17 y.o. girl who stayed w/him after he slugged her the first time. A man hitting a woman is just beyond my comprehension...no matter what the circumstances. I forget the "I hate you, Amy" episode -- what was that one about?
  3. What shocked me the most about this one is - why didn't he get the death penalty? San Quentin death row would be a great place for this SOB, ya think? Whole frickin' family?!? I don't understand. I know it takes years & years to kill 'em, but living with that thought for all those years, I think, is a good thing.
  4. Hi, Akraven. Don't worry - you're not the last to know about Cause of Death being recycled from Forensic Files. People are finding out eventually! ha! Actually, I hadn't seen the story featured in Unraveled, so it was entertaining (if you can call it that). At least to me it wasn't another re-hash. If you're hoping we don't get a load of retitled reruns on ID you're gonna be really disappointed! It's what they do! Cannot wait to see what they're (ID) gonna do w/a murder that happened here in Michigan a few years ago. The asshole who contracted to get his wife killed was just convicted before Christmas, and he'll be sentenced this Thursday (mandatory LWOP). Unfortunately we have no DP in Michigan, which is a real shame cuz this POS is a perfect candidate. Anyhow, remember the name Robert Bashara, formerly of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan (VERY high-rent district!), and I'm sure you'll be seeing the whole sordid mess shortly on an ID program. My guess would be "My Dirty Little Secret." It was already featured on Dateline awhile ago. Anyhow, Google his name & you can read all about it. I followed the trial every day & I'm REAL excited to watch his sentencing live this Thursday! YAY! Sometimes justice DOES prevail!
  5. Applecrisp - yep, I watched Unraveled and I'm w/you - I'll watch it again. Talk about a PSYCHO! And thanks for the good re-cap, cuz so many of these shows are similar or have been told a half dozen times before in different formats, but this story was new to me. I almost turned it off at the part where her husband learned she had the bone-lengthening surgery & stayed w/her after that, but I stuck w/it. I figured then he'd have an early demise somewhere down the road, but ya never know (shaking my head)!
  6. ROFLMAO! Too, too funny! Thanks, CarpeDiem54!
  7. My money's on Enrique (sp?). What say you, Walnutqueen and Suz at Large?
  8. I watched last week's A Crime To Remember, too. That was horrific, but I agree it was - thankfully - a restrained production. Makes me wonder how any parent can live thru the loss of a child. Wonder how that nun who let him go from school lived the rest of her life. Had to feel sorry for that woman.
  9. Thanks, again, Suz. Now I get it! Anyhow, I can't watch Deadly Women because of Candace DeLong. There's just something about her voice I can't stand -- nor the wigs she wears (they look like wigs, anyhow). Plus, too many of the shows have murdered children situations, which I can't EVER watch. I know a lot of people on this site like Deadly Women & that's great. It's just not for me. Couldn't agree w/you more about "good ole" Forensic Files and Cold Case Files. GREAT shows!
  10. Applecrisp - Sorry, I never watched Wife Swap, so can't help you there. As for the Wives w/Knives ep I was referring to - this woman had a horrid relationship w/a guy - he beat the shit outta her on a regular basis, then she finally got out of it. Years later she met a REAL nice man & they got married. She started having flashbacks of all her beatings years before (I think she was bipolar, too, and a former drunk). One day she was baking a cake, everything's great - her sweet husband says he's going out to the garage to work on his motorcycle, and she says fine. THEN, a few minutes later she gets a bad thought in her head (WHACKO!), grabs a big butcher knife, goes out to the garage, and stabs her husband in the back while's he's bent over working on his bike. I think she got him twice real good. He recovered, refused to press charges against her, and TOOK HER BACK. Wow....just wow.
  11. Suz - I'm new at this & all, and for the life of me I can't figure out what "TH" means. Anyhow, how 'bout Wives With Knives last night? OMG -- and her husband STAYED with her after that?!? WTF?!!! Talk about sleeping with one eye open. Sheesh!
  12. Just finished watching the new episodes of Murder Book and A Crime to Remember. OMG - BOTH were fantastic! I won't discuss now for those of you who live in different times zones, but I highly recommend both shows. The Murder Book episode took place in my home state of Michigan, but I don't remember the murders -- it happened on the other side of the state from where I live.
  13. I was a little disappointed in When Murder Comes To Town last night. I thought it was too hard to follow who's who...but then again, I'm still exhausted from Christmas & my brain might not be working 100% yet. Must say I love the narrator, but his voice is SO soothing it puts me to sleep!
  14. Me, too, Fraoch. I think it's one of the best shows on TV - loved it from the very first episode. It actually reminds me a little of Mad Men - the sets are amazingly well done and I even like the Allstate commercials. They need to make more episodes per season!
  15. Oh...one more thing. I've had Forensic Files on the last couple hours while I'm cleaning & I heard a familiar phrase the narrator often uses in the opening: "Was it an unfortunate accident...or something more sinister?" EVERY time I hear that, whether I'm alone or not, I yell out, "SOMETHING MORE SINISTER!" ha! I'm nuts.
  16. Okay - just watched the "trifecta" walnutqueen mentioned above & they were pretty good! Motives & Murders (murder of 16 y.o. Suzette Pritchard) kept my attention but was pissed it wasn't solved for almost 12 years. I wondered why even in the 80s they couldn't have gotten prints off that ham 'n cheese sandwich fresh from the microwave sitting on the counter. Was a little disappointed in Murder Book, as again, story retold from another show, but I'll never forget it. That "lady" (I use the term loosely), Frankie Cochran, whose boyfriend bludgeoned her repeatedly with a claw hammer in the horse stables & she survived? Must admit she looked a lot better in this re-do. I LOVED A Crime To Remember! It's incredible how at the very end they show the victim's/murderer's photos...actor/then the actual photo from way back when. Was that guy a weirdo or what?!?! And his mommy covering for him (as so often seems to happen in these stories...unbelievable!). Anyhow, what did you guys think of these? Glad everyone survived Christmas! (or did they? haha!)
  17. AKraven - oh yeah -- and yesterday that goddamn irritating son-in-law of mine made me think seriously about sticking a fork in MY eye while listening to him go on & on & on about shit he knows NOTHING about but thinks he does because he's an expert at everything - just ask him. OMG! Thank GAWD Christmas is over...I'm exhausted & just wanna watch my "murder shows" (as my Granddaughters call them) that I've DVR'd all weekend! BTW, AKraven - I like your avatar -- it reminds me of one of my favorite movies of all time - The Birds. One year we went to California to visit my brother in San Francisco, & took a trip north to Bodega Bay. We actually had lunch in the restaurant featured in the movie, and saw the schoolhouse, too. It was VERY fun!
  18. Hi, ridethemaverick! Occasionally, ID does come up w/a couple new ones that are great & I agree w/you. The only thing is if you've ever been a fan of Forensic Files, you'll recognize the exact stories they're showing now (as new) in Cause of Death. They just gave it another show title, however, the STORY title is the same as it was for Forensic Files. The 3 they had on last night are all 5-10 years old. No matter -- they were good ones & I watched them again.
  19. Wendy - thank you so much for fixing that! I think I'm starting to get the hang of it...we'll see. It sure is great to meet all my new pals who share the same interests, and who, for the most part, agree with ME on these shows. It's great fun reading their posts, I'll tell ya! Thanks, again, Wendy.
  20. Romyn - I'm so sorry - I missed your post the other day! Thanks so much for that info -- very interesting. Wow -- Rebecca's a adult?!? That is amazing. Very screwed up families (not that mine is perfect, but so far none of us have killed anyone! But on the other hand, the holidays are upon us. haha!). Oops~I bolded my ENTIRE last post! I'm new at this, you guys...bear with me! ETA: Fixed bold issues!
  21. Walnutqueen - Oh yeah!! ANIMALS, too! OMG - so many times on these shows whenever there's a dog involved (my screen name, BTW, is my dog, Maizie), I'll yell at the TV -- "No! No! Don't kill the dog, too!!!!" So VERY disturbing. Animals & children - those that have no voice. Horrid! Can't get commercials off fast enough asking for $ for abused animals - I've never watched a single one. I hate those re-enactment type shows & the screaming/crying, too. Is that necessary? Really?!? So glad you don't have nightmares, either! haha! It really is surprising we don't.
  22. Applecrisp - you can whistle that again (disturbing content). I can barely watch any dealing with children (I've got gorgeous 6 & 8 y.o. Granddaughters), and anything that's TOO twisted - like last week's True Evil. I can't even recall what it was about because I changed channels about 5 min. into it. If nothing on I.D., I usually turn to Forensic Files, most of which I've seen about 10 times each. WTF -- that show was on for years so why do they keep replaying them?!? ARGHHH! They occasionally have new ones on from 2002 @ 6 or 7 p.m. which is nice. Most of the time I just turn it on to fall asleep. My friends tell me I must have horrible nightmares, but I can't TELL you the last time I did (they're usually real good!) -- and that's pretty amazing considering what I watch! haha!
  23. WQ - OMG you are too funny! Yes, he probably WOULD shit himself he'd be so happy. No, I haven't checked out the Gen'l True Crime Shows thread, but thanks so much for giving the link - I definitely will after this Christmas madness is over with.
  24. Thank you, WQ! LOVE this site & so glad I found it. My significant other doesn't "get" my ID addition (nor anything unless it's on ESPN).
  25. I just finished watching last night's "I'd Kill For You", which was a re-hash of the Buzz Clinton murder in Connecticut. Years ago I read the book by M. William Phelps "Lethal Guardian" about Kim Carpenter's sister, Beth, arranging the murder with the lawyer she was working for at the time so that the Carpenters could get custody of Kim's 3 y.o. daughter. Crazy story. Anyhow, wasn't that impressed by this portrayal of the murder in "I'd Kill For You". I usually like the show, tho. I wonder whatever happened to Kim (Carpenter) Clinton and her daughter. Anyone know? She seemed like a real loser to me. Her sister, Beth, is still in prison and recently asked for a new trial - I don't think she was successful. She deserves to spend the rest of her life there for sure. Also like Momsters - I think Roseanne looks great and I do enjoy her snarky comments. A Crime to Remember and Murder Comes To Town (GREAT narration!) my faves. This is my first post - hope I did it right! Love reading all of your opinions! I laughed until I was crying while reading everyone's suggestions for naming shows on I.D. -- that was too, too, funny!!!
