Oh, Lord. I forgot about the move to Wednesdays even though @Quilt Fairy kindly reminded us in the Top Chef Media thread. Smh. This will take some getting used to. Looks like they were good to give us a repeat this time--- last year they only aired the episodes once. I hope that continues; the other reality shows on Bravo: Housewives, etc. get repeated. I practically cried when Padma announced she was leaving, lol. Oh, the devastation! I had no idea who could possibly replace her--- Kristen is AMAZING!!! She has her own style, her own point of view, her culinary skills make her more than qualified, her experience as a contestant is a unique twist; she's bright, intelligent & charming --- and she's PRETTY!!! 😍 I simply enjoy looking at her. The moment when she asked the folks without James Beard's or Michelin star associations to raise their hands & she ~basically said: 'Yeah, me neither & I still won'--- I hollered! Kudos to the editors. They tricked me for sure. There was the one female pitmaster, all bubbly & sweet who was up for the stuffed pasta challenge. I thought for sure she was gonna be first out. But she won her segment of the challenge! Lobster & corn stuffed in silken, see-through pasta sounded classically delicious. I hope she continues to quieten her inner critic. Soo much yummy sounding food tonight! I'm excited about the new season! I think it's the change to Wednesdays. Folks need time to adjust.

Lucky you! I always wanted to go but never made it. A birthday trip with a tiara was my dream, lol. Wendy is a legend. Her celebrity gossip was Top Notch. I think it is unfair that folks are saying her illnesses are karma--- millions of people watched her everyday, including me. If this is karma--- would not the viewers share in it?

Yeah. I agree. I think it was a flaw in the script to not go into more detail about the Swans' lives: Babe's accident & affairs; Slim's marriages; Lee's relationship with her sister, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis; CZ's nude painting--- Diego Rivera & Frieda Kahlo! I think the script focused too heavily on Truman in his declining years--- alcoholic with writer's block, no real answer as to why he betrayed the Swans.

I watched a YouTube review of this documentary (Kempire) & a commenter suggested manager Will was making arrangements with paparazzi for a fee. The idea is that Will would produce Wendy at certain places at certain times; the paparazzi would be there to get pictures & videos of her--- let's be honest, not looking well; sell them for megabucks; pay Will a fee & he gave a portion of that money to Wendy. That was the cash she was living on outside of what was approved by her financial guardian. It's speculation, but it makes sense.

When Wendy was in New York drinking, she was not eating regularly. There was a moment where the niece was told there was no food in the refrigerator & she got emotional. The son talked about how thin she looked & said when he had her in Miami for a length of time, he fed her a vegan diet & zero alcohol & she gained 20 pounds. (I have never heard of anyone gaining weight from a vegan diet.) Outside of the show, the childhood best friend said Wendy had no access to money outside of the guardian. Wendy would ask for breakfast to be delivered at 7am, but the guardian would not respond until noon. The best friend said she was regularly having food delivered to Wendy in NYC from Los Angeles. In my non-professional opinion, Wendy's thinness is due to malnourishment--- due to alcoholism, exacerbated by the way her body processes alcohol with her thyroid condition, & made worse by the guardian. This may be why her body is lean, but her face is bloated. Basically, she's drinking & not eating.
