Even though kurt did have that forgiving scene, he has made jabs about the cheating before (I clearly recall that one in Tested). I never felt like Kurt got over it, which is his perogative, but if can't talk about it properly with Blaine, he shouldn't have been engaged to him. It was crappy for Blaine not to confess to the cheating, and I'm not really defending it. My only point was that Dave managed to handle what happened well. I don't want to say better than Kurt, but if they're going to be a couple, they need to talk about their issues, and Dave at least was able to do that.

So, I've watched it now. Buying Samchel is hard for me. I don't see what it is about Rachel that appeals to Sam, and it was really noticeable in the teachers lounge scene. I don't think he can handle her when she gets into that over-the-top dramatic place. I hate that the Glee Club is really about Rachel, and no one seems to seriously object. Those new kids aren't getting the benefit, and it's unfortunate. I still don't understand half of what Clint says. I would've liked the Bieste stuff a lot more if I bought him being transgender, and if they hadn't already mishandled Unique for her run on the show (also they did a terrible job at making it look like Bieste had any kind of surgery. Was Dot wearing a binder?) When watching the Blaine and Karofsky scene, I thought something I would've never anticipated: they make a better couple than Klaine, even when they're breaking up. Whereas I think Kurt tends to hold onto the ways Blaine has wronged him, and doesn't ever talk about it, Dave is able to get Blaine to come clean and get a conversation going. Furthermore, he seems able to let go of the hurt (even if it's unrealistic.). Even though I think this was a waste of the character, I'm glad they didn't end up making him a bad guy, and they let him do something.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I've watched all the performances online. I'm so disappointed by Time After Time. I would've loved it as a group number. Also, the more Chord sings, the more I hate it. I still don't buy them together, no matter what glee does. Same Love was exactly as cringe-worthy as I imagined. Nooooo. Will can do goofy rapping (thong song) but don't let him serious rap. I Know Where I've Been sounded great, but while watching it, I felt nothing. I guess because I couldn't help but think about how hypocritical Glee is. All About That Bass, a song I generally hate, I liked here. Rachel dancing to it was cute, and Madison is really cute in regular clothes. The Klaine duet was fun, when I watching the stuff in the crowd.

Also, I find the argument about Glee being a campy show not a strong excuse. There was a huge difference between the way Santana was crying in Silly Love Songs, which was for comedic effect, and when she was crying at the locker when she was admitting she was in love with Brittany. There's also Rachel's overdramatic singing crying and her actual crying. When Blaine is supposed to be legitimately crying, it does tend to come off as the comedic crying, which is flawed, and as we have other people on the show do real crying (also something Kurt does all the time), I don't think there's evidence to support that.

I don't think I started questioning Darren's acting choices until Guilty Pleasures when I genuinely thought that Blaine was 100% over Kurt after his Sam serenade. I was at least somewhat following the character at that point (as much as you can follow anyone on Glee), but that made the engagement even more of a WTF? to me. It made it seem like Blaine didn't want to propose out of love, but because he just didn't want to be single anymore, although if he could've dated Sam he would've taken that opportunity. It was very confusing. In retrospect, I do tend to really notice that Darren constantly looks like he's acting, whereas other people do seem a lot more natural on screen (even in the over the top stuff. Lea gets to be over the top a lot, but I don't end up thinking "this is Lea acting" so much as "this is Rachel doing whatever"). However, I understand we're watching Glee and not Breaking Bad, so I can usually overlook bad acting, so long as I understand what the characters are supposed to be saying (and this is why I'm sometimes harsher on Chris than Darren, even though Chris is a better actor generally. Basically whenever Chris is doing a Klaine scene, I have no flipping clue what he's supposed to be thinking and I feel like fans twist it into whatever they want it to be. At least with Darren, the weird Sam stuff in season 4 aside, I know what Blaine is SUPPOSED to be thinking or acting or how it's supposed to come off. Also, I hold Chris to a higher standard because I think can do better). I ultimately agree that what hurt Blaine the most was the writing. As has been covered, he really has nothing going for him story-wise or character-wise other than his relationship with Kurt. And I really can't care about a relationship or a character where someone has no purpose other than to be the love interest (and I guess for Blaine to sing a lot). And his personally did seem to shift drastically in season 4, and at first I thought it could be in an interesting way, but ultimately, it went nowhere.

Let's try to market this: media, articles and interviews
phoenixrising replied to caracas1914's topic in Glee [V]
I mean, Emma's quote was basically the point of the show. The "winner" was a shameless ship moment? I mean, my Santana loving heart is glad something she said made it in, but for something with her, I would've probably just chosen something from when she came out to her grandmother. I think the Sam one about the cream rising to the top one was the most random (it was a cute moment between them, but not a particularly quotable one). Also, as far as Brittany quotes go, how did "Dolphins are just gay sharks" NOT win that. -
There's no reason to, but Glee doesn't seem to make logical decisions anymore. If my options are new kids, Samchel, Klaine, or Rachel not earning her wins, I'll take the new kids.

. . .Is it awful that I kind of want this now?
-
Unless they do an acoustic version, how could they make it different?
-
I'd honestly rather see the new characters stories at this point. They obviously don't know what to do with the originals anymore, and if they ruin the new kids, I won't care. For me, they have nothing to lose. I just wish we had done it sooner this season.
-
1. I love how all the new kids have last names except Roderick. 2. All I wanted for the finale was all the originals back. Literally, they could do anything and I would've been mildly satisfied. 3. This season is fanfiction. My finale is 101 (because they can't top that Will moment). And everyone was back, and I could more easily imagine my own endings for people.

I know it will eventually suck, because I've watched AHS, and seasons 3 and 4 were complete train wrecks. While them doing anthologies is better, they get bored too quickly and focus on the next great thing. This is a pattern of Ryan and Brad's, and I see no indication of that changing. I don't think Lea will be bad, nor am I upset that she's working with them again. I just would've liked to see her do something different.
-
Oh no. . .why are they making Matt Morrison rap? I am cringing. However, Alex on "I Know Where I've Been" is fantastic and I kind of shamefully am loving "All About That Bass".
-
On AHS, they've had random singing. There's a good chance they'll randomly fit in at least a song for Lea. I could see Lea getting typecast as the diva, since it's something thematically Ryan seems to really like (that was a plot several times on AHS). I'm not a hardcore Lea fan, but I am disappointed that she's not moving to work on something that's got a better chance of being significantly good.

Is anyone else distracted by Bieste's facial hair?
-
Or he completely lacks a filter. But not in a cute, endearing way (which I'm sure is what Glee wants us to think). In a gross way.
-
What show were these people watching? I wasn't really in fandom at this time, but did people say stuff like that about Puck/Lauren when they were a thing?
-
There are many theories, but I'm mostly asking myself this, and I've watched every ridiculous episode of this series.
-
I think I really stopped liking Kurt for the most part in season 5. There were other moments I found him infuriating before (the main one that will always come to mind is when he was so dismissive of Quinn in On My Way), but by the time he said yes to Blaine's marriage proposal, even though no rational human being would agree to marriage (or propose) after being back together for 10 minutes. At that point, his purpose on this show became mainly about being half of a ship, and because I don't find that relationship engaging, I don't find him engaging anymore (Chris has done good performances so don't come at me Chris fans, but he can't overcome the writing and what it does to him). I'm mildly hopeful that he'll get to do something else. But that hope is very mild.

On a different topic. I only watched this episode once (while intoxicated--Glee is better when you're drinking), but did Sam say something weird about boobs in his conversation to Mercedes? Between "Are you still a virgin?", and the comment about Rachel's butt when he was turning her down in HLP1, and whatever I think I heard him say, I'm really confused about what the appeal of Sam is. I think Glee thinks these comments are funny, but they're just gross and inappropriate. Even though they're small moments, it's a pattern and it's really making me hate him.
-
This. All of this. I also think Glee doesn't understand the difference between "flawed" and "awful human being". I'd say every character has crossed the line at some point or other. Except, maybe Marley, but other than nice, I'm not sure what she was.
-
Unpopular opinion. While I don't totally disagree with the points made here, I actually am sympathetic to Rachel right now. I guess I'm not interpreting it the same way. I think she KNOWS she messed up, and I do think she's regretting her moronic choices. Perhaps this is just me finding it so obvious she screwed up that I'm looking beyond the word choice, but whatever, if this is how I have to enjoy the show, so be it. That, and right now, her character is pretty much the only one who has anything outside of relationship drama going on with her. Even though I've said elsewhere I am mainly watching for Brittana right now, I do think it's crappy that this show has nothing else to do beside irrelevant things or relationship drama (which is honestly irrelevant too).
-
Da Fuck? They really couldn't just pull the random cheerios trick again? The band? Bring back Jake, Marley, Ryder, Unique (whatever, Melissa is definitely onto better things)? Even for them, this is lazy.
-
As I'm pretty much only here for the Brittana at this point, I loved it. They were awesome, and the Brittany who will stand up for Santana is what I'm here for. Quirky, but not dumb. And the stuff with Santana and her grandmother hurt my heart a lot. I do feel for Rachel, even though I'm thinking she realized how dumb the TV idea was. But the show even doing it was hella dumb. Samchel is not what I'm here for. At least this episode was giving me a they're-here-for-now vibes, not endgame, which better be the case because...no. At least Mercedes has an off-screen boyfriend. I hope he's less gross than Sam.

On pure speculation, I'd guess he'll have a career, but nothing that'll be huge in the industry. I feel that way about pretty much everyone in glee though (of the kid actors, anyway).
