  1. 😆 Some of the articles I've read indicate that she'll be hosting until the end of the season. 😥
  2. And Ken doing the Mork ear twiddle in response! I'm going to miss him SO much when the other host returns. 😥
  3. Also, The Oscars' YouTube account has a video up for the Class Photo of ALL the nominees, above and below the line. I haven't watched it yet as it's 25+ minutes of introductions, but just in case people are interested, here it is. 95th Oscars' Nominees Luncheon: Class Photo
  4. The new AMPAS President, Janet Yang, briefly addressed "The Slap" at Monday's luncheon for Oscar nominees, among other topics. There are several good photos from the Nominees' Luncheon within the article. Oscars' Response to Smith Slap Inadequate, Academy Head Says
  5. Week 22: 2/5.
  6. Brendan Fraser comments on the Golden Globes. From Variety: Brendan Fraser Disses Golden Globes as ‘Hood Ornaments’ That ‘Mean Nothing to Me’
  7. HBO Max also has the 2021 documentary Julia available. I've watched it and would recommend. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt13782428/
  8. Well, the camera people from CBS may not have zoomed in on Madonna, but an L.A. Times photographer had no such qualms. Also, if you didn't get to see Shania Twain's "top hat," Variety's got you covered.
  9. What a great acceptance speech by Lizzo!
  10. I'd be surprised if something of that nature isn't already in the works. Along those lines, the first episode of "Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World" premiered on PBS last week. I thought the kickoff was well done. Series info and Episode 1 at this link. https://www.pbs.org/show/fight-power-how-hip-hop-changed-world/
  11. I'm trying to figure out why they're even in the room. I've missed a few minutes here and there as I was cooking in the kitchen. Did J-Lo present an award maybe?
  12. If I passed that woman on the street, I wouldn't recognize her as Madonna.
  13. That was one of the better In Memoriam segments I've ever seen on an awards show. Nicely done.
  14. I honestly don't miss Joan Rivers on the Red Carpet at all. I always found her Carpet interviews cringe-worthy and often completely out-of-touch. I do, however, desperately miss Fashion Police which was the perfect forum for her snarky and often hilariously inappropriate commentary.
  15. Week 21: 2/5. (No asterisks.)
  16. I've had several instances of this error in various forums. The one I remember well because it kept happening until I used "Mark read" to get it to stop was the Young Sheldon forum.
  17. Up front, let me say that I've never been a big fan of Jim Carrey's comedy, and I pretty much avoided films in which he appeared, but also during the stretch of films you've mentioned, I did see him in a seemingly forgotten movie drama called "The Majestic." I was blown away by how good he was in that and surprised that he got no awards consideration for his performance.
  18. You're correct that autism is a term that should only be used when an actual diagnosis is in place. It certainly shouldn't be popping up here on the forums about any contestants. 😥 Neurodivergent IS being used much more frequently, with more positivity surrounding the term than "on the spectrum", which tends to ping negatively, and decidedly not just in clinical settings.
  19. If I may just say a few words about terminology: Autism is a very specific diagnosis and the use of the word should be avoided. Additionally, there is a movement away from "on the spectrum" to neurodivergent/neurodiversity.
  20. Actually two related bugs. On my home page, some shows are highlighted as having new posts, yet when you get to the main show page, there is no new content. Also, if there is any new content, when you enter that page and get to the bottom, you may see the option for "Next unread topic." Often, when you click on that, it takes you to a new page that says there is no new activity. Edited to add the error code.
  21. She's living in Mandyville with Chuck Cunningham. 😉
  22. I have no doubt that Saigon would not only have been accepted, but also think that it was the preferred response based on Ken's ever-so-slight hesitation when Jake said Ho Chi Minh City. The wording of the clue had me immediately blurting out "Saigon." Those of us who are old enough to remember the images of people hanging off the choppers leaving the rooftop of the American Embassy trying to escape, know that it was Saigon that fell, not HCMC. I don't have a major issue with HCMC being accepted as a response as that is the name most people would recognize for that city, as it has been its name for almost 50 years.
  23. In my opinion, it's particularly galling that this controversy is occurring in THIS category where it's been TWENTY-ONE YEARS since Halle Berry won the Best Actress Oscar and she's STILL the only Black woman ever to have done so. Meanwhile, two Black actresses, each of whom was considered a top tier contender for a Best Actress nomination this year for their outstanding lead performances, are sitting on the bench, with the top prize once again out of reach. Riseborough's surprising nomination may or may not have come at the "expense" of a nomination for either Danielle Deadwyler or Viola Davis, but this still is not a good look for the Academy.
