  1. I could very well be misremembering, but I thought Shep did use the word "love" to Taylor when the group was on St. Simon's Island. Shep was drunk and spouting off to Craig (and Whitney, I think) while Taylor and Austen were in the kitchen (with Olivia? Naomie? not sure on the third person) playing a drinking game based on Shep's ravings. When Shep came into the kitchen, I could swear he drunk whispered in Taylor's ear that he loved her more than he'd ever loved anyone. I'm not racing to go listen to that episode again because I honestly don't care all that much. 😄

I absolutely have respect for Cleveland and for their great fans. I've always enjoyed watching your team over the years. I've never once thought the (historical) Indians/(current) Guardians were ever intimidated by the Yankees. Intimidated? That's the Twins. The Yankees have been living rent-free in their heads for two decades. 😄 As mentioned, I would have preferred having the Yankees play the Rays in the LDS. The Guardians are young and they're coming in hot. The Yankees were playing a different kind of baseball down the stretch as they had already clinched and it was all about the Judge HR chase. And now they'll have had close to a week's lay off since they last played. I think the Guardians could be dangerous.

What an amazing game! Congratulations to the Cleveland Guardians and their fans!

😱 Not what I wanted to hear. I'm hoping Aaron Boone has a better plan to handle the situation than Joe Torre did 15 years ago! As I said, I'd much rather the Yankees play at the Trop than at Progressive Field. I consider that park and those great fans a big advantage for the Guardians. I know that the Yankees would have Game 5 at YS, but winner-take-all games have a life of their own, regardless of where they're played.

In 1997 and 2007, Cleveland sent the Yankees home to play golf. That's certainly NOT one-sided for the Bombers. That Cleveland couldn't capitalize on those series victories to win a championship doesn't somehow make those losses any more palatable to Yankees' fans!
  6. I do believe that Shep still has feelings for Taylor, perhaps even loves her. (Or as much as can pass for love in Shep's mind.) Taylor came right at him early and often. She'd obviously rehearsed in her head exactly the things she'd been feeling and wanted to say to him and Shep took it from her! He didn't really try to defend himself. We've seen Craig and Austen come at Shep in past reunions and Shep can get downright nasty. That didn't happen here. Shep would have been content to continue for years with Taylor as his girlfriend. I think he was very comfortable in their relationship as it was for him. I don't think he was looking for a new partner in life, he just didn't want to give up meaningless sex with random women on the side. And I don't think he ever will. Maybe there's a woman out there who'd put up with those parameters, but I don't think Shep's a big enough catch to justify a relationship like that. And his stock is dropping as he ages.

Yankees' fan watching Guardians/Rays and basically just rooting for Game 3. Whatever happens, happens but I think I'd rather have the Yankees play the Rays in the LDS; more a "devil you know" thing. I'd rather the Yankees' away game(s) be at Yankee Stadium Southeast than at Progressive Field. The Cleveland fans have always been the 10th man and also too many bad memories from "The Jake": Sandy Alomar, Jr., the Knoblauch brain fart and "The Midges of October."

  9. Week 4: 2/5. I broke the pattern @saber5055. 🙃 Seems our table will have quite a crowd this week.
  10. I always call out my responses while watching, even if I'm the only person in the room. When I heard that clue, I couldn't get "migration" out of my mouth; I was shocked speechless by my timing! 😄 It truly is a fantastic book; non-fiction that reads like a novel.
  11. FJ was an instaget for me. I did see Green Book the movie, but I'd first learned of The Green Book itself, from reading the brilliant book, The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. It tells the story of the Great Migration of more than six million African Americans to escape from the Jim Crow South to cities in the Northeast, Midwest and West in the early to mid twentieth century. I highly recommend it.
  12. Oh wow, what a nice surprise. Thank you. I love unicorns! 🦄 @saber5055, as a lover of patterns, you'll be pleased to hear that as of tonight I'm right on target to continue the countdown. Incorrect answers for Monday and Tuesday, but I did get tonight's FJ correct, so I'm sitting at 1/3. I'm certainly going to attempt to break the pattern Thursday and Friday, but I wouldn't be surprised to find myself at the T41 at week's end.
  13. Thank goodness I'm not alone watching from the shallow end of the pool. 😄 I thought Cris was adorable from his first appearance. I'm so impressed by the breadth of his knowledge. I hope he goes on a good, long run. My TSs were Henry Ford, eyeball, cornea, Viola Davis, and Seize the Day.
  14. Unfortunately, we don't have individual topics for this show or I'd put this in "The Cast in Other Roles." Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who shines as Richie in The Bear, has a supporting role in the Star Wars series, Andor on Disney +.
  15. My FJ mental gymnastics went like this: Landlocked Asian countries--Nepal, no--Bhutan, no--Mongolia, no--Laos, no--OH God it's going to be one of the Stans--no, no, no, names are too long--Tajikistan, no--Time's up dammit!
  16. Yes, they are.

I wonder if after the strikeout, they did the calculations if Judge were to have gotten 2 more hits tonight, 4 hits tomorrow and Arraez were to go say, 0 for 6 from here out if Judge would even have been able to catch him for the Batting Title. He may have eliminated himself with the strikeout.

Arraez: .315 Judge: .311 The Triple Crown is still in play. I'm betting Judge would want the opportunity to see if he can go on a hitting tear in these final two games to see if he can catch Arraez. No pressure to hit a HR now, just to get some hits.

Interesting if there were to be a Subway Series.
  20. Sadly, the final chapter of the story; Sacheen Littlefeather has died, just two weeks after participating in an Academy event celebrating Native Americans. 😥 From ABC News: Sacheen Littlefeather, actress and activist who declined an Oscar for Marlon Brando, dies at 75

The Orioles are hoping to entice quality free agent pitchers to sign with them. It was one reason they expanded left field.
  22. After reading @shapeshifter's post above about Mayim, I'm glad I dipped out early as those would definitely have bothered me. I'd have been yelling at the screen.
  23. Oh my gosh, I lasted about 20 minutes before I threw in the towel on this episode. To paraphrase Walk the Moon's song, one of the clue responses, Shut Up and Play the Game! The good news was that Mayim didn't annoy me at all. 😄 She could hardly get a word in with these chatterboxes.

I am SO over the hunt for #62. I'm content with Judge and Maris being co-holders of the AL record. What had me excited was that at the end of this amazing offensive season Judge has had, it seemed as if a Triple Crown might be within reach to put a cherry on top of it. The pressure to hit #62 has caused too many strikeouts during this series against the Orioles and his average is slipping. He's 3 points behind Arraez now. 😥 Today's weather at Yankee Stadium is not conducive to hitting home runs. If #62 is going to happen, it'll be much more likely in Texas. ⚾
  25. In the "Magazines" category, I definitely honed in on the wrong part of the clue. Instead of paying attention to the 400, my brain locked on ballroom and I said Architectural Digest. 🤦‍♀️
