  1. This is her best look of the season, IMO. I believe that is actually a life-sized official Barbie design. Edited to add: I stand corrected. It's Chanel.
  2. Taylor Zakhar Perez https://m.imdb.com/name/nm3253943/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_0_nm_7_q_Taylor%20Z
  3. I have E! on for interviews and I also have a livestream open from AP News which has no commentary at all, just all the arrivals at the camera area. All you hear is the photographers shouting at them! I've got to say, it can't be a pleasant feeling. While I think Barbie will take Production Design and/or Costuming (I think Poor Things gets one and Barbie gets the other,) it could upset in Adapted Screenplay, giving an Oscar to Greta Gerwig. Each of them gave a wonderful performance from opposite ends of the acting spectrum I don't think it's possible to say that one of them was better than the other. That leaves the narrative as the tie breaker, (Emma already has one and Lily would be the first indigenous winner in the category) which is why I think Lily Gladstone wins the award.
  4. I'm watching both the red carpet and the show. I'll pop in here periodically. Many of the categories are fairly well locked down, but what upset victory would you like to see tonight? For me it's Original Screenplay. Anatomy of A Fall is the expected winner with the upset pick being The Holdovers. I'm actually hoping for Past Lives to sneak in for a win. Unlikely, but I don't think impossible. 🀞
  5. We wouldn't need "they's," as "their" already exists. It would work perfectly in the sentence you provided.
  6. RE: New emojis. I check my notifications here daily. I never received a notification. I also went into my notification history just now, which goes back to February 7th. Nothing. Perhaps those of you who received a notification had already been following the Announcements thread in the Site Business forum? I see that 31 forum members are listed as following. I just followed to make it 32. Anyway, I wish I would have been able to vote as I would have voted for the other option in both categories. At least the other Grateful emoji has a smile on it's face. I don't like the new one at all.
  7. Perhaps this may provide an alternative? It may be split screen. I honestly don't know , but it will be a way to follow the ceremony live.
  8. Sounds very feasible. These on-stage film reunions of actors seem to have grown in popularity over the past few years, across several award shows. When I saw Pacino's name on the announced presenters list, I considered him a strong possibility to present the Best Picture Oscar, not to mention that Pacino and Pfeiffer co-starred in two films together.
  9. Thanks for that. So we have all 20 slots filled and then some! It's a great line-up. I see from your link that Spielberg is presenting. Does he present Best Picture or would he like to hand Christopher Nolan his Best Director Oscar? I guess we'll find out Sunday night!
  10. From Season 1, Episode 9, "The Short List." Josh Lyman: [after a press conference that claimed 1 out of 3 White House staffers takes drugs] Five White House staffers in the room... I would like to say to the 1.6 of you who are stoned right now that it's time to share.
  11. Perhaps Emma Stone should change her stance about not appearing on Celebrity Jeopardy! I'm sure many here have heard that Ms. Stone takes the online Jeopardy! test annually. "I apply every June," Stone said. "I don't want to go on 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' I want to earn my stripes." Seems to me that Ike earned his stripes tonight! From USA Today (Jan. 12, 2024): Emma Stone applies to be on regular 'Jeopardy!' every year: 'I want to earn my stripes'
  12. Me three! I was rooting for Ray but it's kind of exciting that the Celebrity Jeopardy! champ advanced in the TOC! Kudos to Ike. The only thing I hate is that people who may be able to beat Yogesh are dropping like flies. Anything could happen, but the odds aren't looking too good.
  13. Via The Hollywood Reporter 2/25/2024: Film Independent Spirit Awards: Full List of Winners
  14. I can't believe it's already been FIFTEEN years ago since they did that! I love the idea of bringing that presentation format back for the acting awards. So, according to that article from THR, the following Oscar winning actors have already been confirmed as presenters: All four of last year's winners: Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis. Also confirmed: Past Best Actor winners Nicolas Cage, Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino; past Best Actress winner Jessica Lange (also has a Supporting Actress win; I doubt they'd have her present in the lesser category, JMO); past Best Supporting Actor winners Mahershala Ali and Sam Rockwell; past Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong’o. Assuming that this year's nominees Robert DeNiro and Jodie Foster should be in the house as nominees in this year's Supporting Acting categories, but each is a past winner (Jodie x2!) in the Best Actor/Best Actress category, they will probably take part in the five-hander presentations. So, that would give us a full five presenters in the Best Actor category, three presenters in the Best Actress category, three for Supporting Actor and two in Supporting Actress. That leaves seven presenter slots open (2 Best Actress, 2 Supporting Actor and 3 Supporting Actress.) More big names to come! Any guesses? If any one of these actors present Best Picture, it throws off the numbers. I wonder who'll present the big award. πŸ€” Best Actress nominee Annette Bening's husband will most likely be in house with her. Does the Academy give past Best Director winner Warren Beatty a chance at redemption for the Moonlight/LaLaLand Best Picture debacle? I've always felt bad for him. He realized something was wrong and was trying to indicate that to Faye Dunaway who didn't get it. I'd actually like to see Beatty have another shot at it. There'd definitely be room for some good comedy lines there! Yes, I have too much time on my hands today. πŸ˜„
  15. No. Hulu + LiveTV is necessary. The ceremony will stream live on ABC.com, but you have to authenticate through one's cable or satellite provider.
  16. No one I was pulling for won this week. πŸ˜• I did like Luigi the best of Thursday's champions, so while I'm very happy for him, I think that Juveria may have been the only champ who can beat Yogesh. Keeping him from winning the whole tournament is definitely a thing in my mind! I'm really πŸ˜” that Cris and Hannah were knocked out in the first round. I'm hoping mightily that Ray and Ben win their matches next week. 🀞
  17. The writers have mistakenly allowed it to become a minor part of the show. The recently deceased, but not quite gone yet, subjects of Nell's obituaries were basically the COTW. To me, their interactions with Nell were the most interesting part of the show. It's very disappointing.
  18. Week 25: 1/5. (T) I'll bring pretzel rods.
  19. Oscar voting has now closed. I always enjoy reading the anonymous Oscar ballots. Here's the first one published by The Hollywood Reporter. Brutally Honest Oscar Ballot #1
  20. Again, the plot line involving Lexi, which then involved everyone, was ridiculous and insulting to anyone's intelligence. Her father didn't want her to do either of the two things that would actually improve the lives of the employees, so instead she'll implement the one that will make everyone's life a living hell. This show is getting one more week from me to improve or I think I'm out. There had to have been dozens of ways to bring Nell and TJ together. That was an amusing story. Wendie Malick is always. welcome on my screen. And once again, the best plot line comes from one of Nell's obituary subjects and wasn't given enough time in the episode.
  21. Jake didn't have the controversial mustache. That was Brian Henegar. He'll be playing on Friday. πŸ‘¨
  22. While not as glaring an upset as Jared beating Cris Panullo, David's victory over Hannah Wilson has to be considered an upset too. I remember she won eight games during her original run, which is none too shabby. I was rooting for her or Yungshang. I liked him too. I have no recollection of David at all. I am not looking forward to Yogesh tonight. πŸ˜’ I'm hoping he's a one and done. 🀞
  23. πŸ‘‹ I'm watching the Red Carpet on the People YT feed right now. I'll be switching over to Netflix at 7 to see what their coverage is like. Evidently, Netflix is also live streaming their Red Carpet coverage on their YouTube channel.
