  1. Per Lesley-Ann Brandt's Twitter, in case anyone was wondering, in her scene with Dr. Linda, the "Lilim" Maze was speaking was actually Afrikaans.
  2. Very enjoyable first episode, right from the open with Lucifer's month of nights rendition of "Creep." It was great to get a musical number from Tom Ellis right at the beginning. The characters are SO much better written than in the disaster that was Season 3. I'm glad Maze's apology to Trixie was so quickly and willingly accepted. Loved the twist at the end! Chloe's arc may actually be interesting this season! Thanks to the Mods for individual episode threads, so those of us who would prefer not to binge won't be spoiled!
  3. As my Mom used to say, "That's why they make both chocolate and vanilla ice cream!" 😅
  4. Men's Health has an article up about how Tom Ellis got himself ripped for Season 4 of Lucifer. https://www.menshealth.com/entertainment/a27363357/tom-ellis-lucifer-workout-photos/ Has it gotten very warm in here all of a sudden?

  6. For me, creamed spinach = Boston Market. It's my go-to side along with their mashed potatoes.
  7. Sean Brock has been backing away from Husk and his other Charleston and Nashville restaurants for a while. Now he's out completely to concentrate on an Appalachian concept in East Nashville. https://nashville.eater.com/2019/5/2/18527149/chef-sean-brock-departs-husk-east-nashville
  8. Chalk up "Death" as another FJ instaget for me because of The West Wing. In my head, I heard Lord John Marbury quoting the biblical verse from Revelation to Jed Bartlet as he prepares to save the world from nuclear war between India and Pakistan. For "Lithium" I thank Nirvana. 😉
  9. Netflix released a recap trailer hosted by the Devil.
  10. Five Thirty Eight has a piece up about James and his strategies. Not surprisingly, it's heavy on statistics. I'm posting my favorite chart, which shows the board locations of DDs from 2001 through the end of last season. The Man Who Solved ‘Jeopardy!’
  11. The Jeopardy! website now has an official James Holzhauer tracker showing various statistics about his run updated daily. https://www.jeopardy.com/contestant-zone/james-holzhauer-tracker
  12. Everything We Know About Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 https://www.tvguide.com/news/agents-of-shield-season-6-spoilers-everything-to-know/ Article includes a trailer and Season 6 cast portraits.
  13. Because there are things the writers don't want the viewing audience to know yet?
  14. The Atlantic is speculating that James is earning more than Alex per episode right now. 😅 Also wondering if the prize budget can outlast James. Edited to add: My goodness, the length of the URL is insane! https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2019/04/james-holzhauer-vs-jeopardys-prize-budget-game-show/587668/?utm_term=2019-04-20T14%3A49%3A32&utm_content=edit-promo&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=the-atlantic&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR31zwW26FEJX6u7O9VmtvW4e6hW1jWUiJ8ZO1Wt2Ez7R4Et6ciopUH1Fks&fbclid=IwAR3T8sQpIhRdodk3OEGlTflPCwPpeO1xJeP9jJ0c5q86nsYyGj4UnLwGnzs&fbclid=IwAR0qlkU9SvNDRIm-dWar-rGfNpaxjm5fds_tcbHb06usuGbsRwpZWTXtG0c
  15. Interesting idea. I wonder why nothing happened when Everett cast to break the mirror and disable the seam. Julia got into Brakebills 39 times prior to timeline 40. She was the variable in the 40th timeline. But you're certainly correct that, at least for timeline 40, it was a decision made for her over which she had no agency. JMO, but I think the jury's still out on which choice Penny made for Julia. We didn't see Penny's conversation with The Binder and I don't think anything that was said between Penny and Julia in the Brakebills library completely rules out the goddess possibility. Their conversation seemed to indicate that he'd chosen for her to be human but I think it may have been a misdirect. Perhaps we're seeing the beginnings of her "long and arduous journey to goddesshood." We have no idea what that would look like. It could have taken her back to square one where she seemed to have no magical ability. Also, I won't fault Julia for coming down so hard on Penny because she must be suffering PTSD, but whichever choice he made, poor Penny had to made a split-second decision on the human/goddess issue. Julia has known for quite some time that she has the ability to choose which way she wants to go and seemingly was unable to make that decision even when pressed by OLU/Persephone, instead inactively deciding to remain in the physically invulnerable but unable to do magic condition she was in.
  16. FJ was an instaget for me as a superhero geek. FJ clue specifically said Justice League meaning DC. (Rules out Fantastic Four, which is Marvel.) A quick mental run through of DC characters brought me to Aquaman and Sea King.
  17. From The Hollywood Reporter: 'The Magicians' Creators Explain That Game-Changing Season 4 Finale Death https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/magicians-season-4-finale-death-explained-jason-ralph-exits-1202736?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral
  18. I was holding it together OK until Eliot threw the peach into the fire. Then I just lost it.
  19. New statement from Alex Trebek on his condition. "Alex Trebek says his cancer treatment is going well and that he plans to return to Jeopardy" https://twitter.com/i/events/1118652322974846977
  20. Oh to have enough money to have a "year of wow." James' wife has a fabulous idea there!
  21. I'm very surprised at this also, especially when you consider that those of us in the television audience have had the benefit of watching James for seven games now and have gotten familiar with his M.O. Are contestants who are scheduled to be challengers in shortly upcoming games allowed to watch games occurring prior to theirs? If not, big kudos to those who've been adapting that quickly to the game strategy James has been using.
