  1. Interesting idea about the 4 gods who died recently, especially as we now know they were all librarians originally. This seems like a very sensible impression. I just wish we knew how/where the scene at the elevator with Penny 40 fits into the Season 4 time line. That seems to be the big question. I'm still tending toward Marina 23. We still have no idea what happened to her since Kady did her magic with all the negativity from the Bad News Bear.
  2. The Hollywood Reporter has a video up with additional information about the casting of Diana for Season 4 and also mentions that Gillian Anderson has been cast to play Margaret Thatcher in S4 and Emerald Fennell, who played Lady Lovelace in Victoria, will play Camilla Parker-Bowles. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/video/crown-netflix-drama-finds-princess-diana-video-1200673?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral
  3. It seems like tonight's season finale will be the episode where Dr. Gates discovers that DNA match. Here's the synopsis for tonight's episode:
  4. I love trivia and have a pretty wide range of trivial knowledge. That said, I am a dunce when it comes to chemistry. Seriously, I know maybe 2 or 3 chemical abbreviations off the top of my head. However, today I was taking a Sporcle quiz which included this question: "SCIENCE: The chemical formula NaCl represents which edible compound?" I had no trouble providing the correct answer! 😄 Thank you C.J. (and Aaron.) Being a TWW nerd sometimes has its benefits. For the very few who won't recognize the reference: https://youtu.be/KOdrbf5sX_M?t=99
  5. I live in South Carolina, birthplace of Stephen Colbert, who, as we know, uses a French pronunciation of his last name (Kohl-behr.) In 2013, his sister Elizabeth was the Democratic nominee in a special election for the SC First Congressional District. She, and I'm guessing the rest of the Colbert family, uses the British pronunciation (Kohl-burt.) Elizabeth, is that you? 😉 The former Declan MacManus would definitely ask for a BMS.
  6. Alpine, NJ is one of, if not THE community with the highest property values in the US. For most of the homes in Alpine, you'd have to add another zero to the $400,000 you listed and then keep escalating. I'm not saying that Randall and Beth's house will sell for $4 million, but $1.5-$2 million is probably a good estimate. They'll definitely have $$$ from the sale to play with by downsizing. Not to mention that there's no stability in Randall's new job. His constituents have the ability to vote him out every 2-4 years, depending on the length of term for Philadelphia Council members. A Frosty was exactly what I envisioned when Deja was talking about dipping her fries. You still need something to drink in addition to a Frosty! This will be an unpopular opinion but I think that the camera's focus on Beth's rings may very well be the ultimate TIU misdirect. From the way Randall and Beth greeted each other I got the distinct impression that they were no longer together as a couple. We may have seen rings on her left hand but their body language and verbal intonations indicated just the opposite to me. I think Beth is married to someone else. Kate mentioned to Rebecca afterwards that she specifically did NOT tap Jack's foot because she wanted to make sure that a nurse would respond quickly to Jack's alarms sounding if she was not there to tap him. She was running a test of her own and from the camera shots, it didn't look as if a nurse was coming. Kate probably should have alerted Rebecca to the idea that she was going to do that the next time Jack "forgot" to breathe though. I LOVED Deja's speech to Randall. OTOH, St. Jack's to the nurse was just another in the long line of special snowflake persuasion speeches that annoy the hell out of me. 🙄 I SO wish the nurse would have told Jack that he was welcome to sit in the waiting room until 6 a.m.!
  7. What a waste of Preet Bharara! If I were sitting next to Preet, I'd be asking one legal question after another. Maher's got this brilliant, highly experienced former US Attorney and he barely lets him speak? Why bother to have guests at all if you're just going to push your own agenda, Bill? Jeez, Preet didn't even get to discuss his new book, which I'd think was the reason he agreed to appear in the first place. The Pete Buttigieg interview wasn't much better. I thought Bill was downright condescending. I'm sick of the negative attitudes toward Millennials (and I'm a Baby Boomer), not just from Maher, but from many other sources too. From what I've seen so far, I like what Mayor Pete has to say, but we didn't really get much that was new from him because, as it often is, it's all about Bill. 🙄 I'd had high hopes for this episode. Instead it was a shitshow mainly featuring Sullivan and Cupp. And to top it off, I think I laughed only once and that was during New Rules. If the panel's not going to be interesting, I'm hoping at least for funny.
  8. I laughed out loud at the portrait of Laura Bush hanging in Emmit's office while Zelda was snooping. Nice touch! 😲
  9. This show just amazes me EVERY SINGLE WEEK! I loved that there was music throughout the episode not just one big musical number. And would someone please explain to me how Hale Appleman hasn't yet earned himself a nice, juicy film role? The cast does have a hiatus each year! He's just riveting each time he's on screen. Don't get me wrong; the whole cast is wonderful but if Eliot or the Monster appears in a scene, he commands your attention. Only three more episodes for this season. 😢
  10. As it was their first child, that beautiful infant is supposed to be Tess but she looked JUST like Annie!
  11. Spoiler! A little over a minute of tomorrow night's musical number!
  12. Pamplona was my guess too! Now I don't feel quite as stupid. 😊 For some reason, I fixated on Europe and never turned my thoughts to Asia.
  13. I thought Cassandra too. Could Marina be the person Penny40 greeted at the elevator? That cliffhanger is also still open.
  14. Please tell me I'm not the only person who replayed the "You let go of Falcor!" moment about 5 times in a row. 😄
  15. It was like an hour long (stretched to 90 minutes with all the pledge breaks) trailer for a film that doesn't exist. I kept wondering when the actual episode was going to begin. 😒
  16. Comments on Season 3 from ASP and cast members during the MMM panel at Paleyfest. https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/marvelous-mrs-maisel-creator-season-3-1203165019/
  17. I agree and think it will be Coleman and Hughes until the time of Albert's death. The final sentence of the article indicates at least another season.
  18. Self-absorption, thy name is Pearson. Wow, it's one thing to get into it with your family, but Kevin and/or Randall also went at the doctor, a couple of nurses, Madison (poor Madison, I really felt bad for her), and the poor woman who dared to sit down in a PUBLIC waiting area and eat a bag of pretzels. Why was no one allowed in to see Kate? Last week, both Kevin and Randall were in the room together with her. Now not even her mother is allowed in? For 26 hours? Run Zoe, run. This is the family you'd be dealing with, while living with an alcoholic. He says he's sorry for lying to you while he's got vodka in his water bottle? Get out while you can, Zoe. Right at the opening, the first words out of my mouth were, "Now Beth is there in CA too? Who the hell is with the kids?" I did like that Beth was looking out for Rebecca though. Of course the baby's name is Jack. That baby could have come out with green skin, pointed ears and a tail and he was going to be named Jack. I don't care what Rebecca said about having to see him first to decide his name, or that young Kate gave weird names to her stuffed animals per Randall. What an awful episode.
  19. First, thanks to @MrAtoz for the official Jeopardy! explanation. That said, I still think that in this particular instance, her response should still be ruled incorrect because her addition of the article meant that her answer did not fit the category. While I don't recall the exact name of the category (Size it?) each of the correct responses had to do with adjectives indicating size. Adding the word "The" before the word "Titanic" makes it a noun; definitively the name of the doomed ship. Without the article, it could still mean the ship's name but also allows it to be interpreted as the adjective meaning gigantic and as such, fitting a category about size. Additionally, there was a 1996 documentary titled, The Titanic.
  20. Padma has been named a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. https://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/news-centre/news/2019/-on-the-eve-of-international-womens-day--undp-appoints--new-good.html From the article: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) today appointed Emmy-nominated television personality, award-winning author and internationally acclaimed food expert Padma Lakshmi as its newest Goodwill Ambassador. In this new role, Lakshmi will mobilize support for the Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on fighting inequality, discrimination and empowering the disenfranchised. “As we celebrate International Women’s Day tomorrow, let’s remember that women and girls face some of the worst discrimination and hardships in the world,” Lakshmi said at a press conference held at UNDP headquarters in New York. “My main mission as UNDP Goodwill Ambassador will be to shine a spotlight on the fact that inequality can affect people in rich and poor countries alike.”
  21. Isn't Sophie's position as Mistress of the Robes dependent upon which political party is leading Parliament at the time? The Queen's Court changes if a new PM is named. I'm wondering if the Queen's offer of an apartment for Sophie and her child will supercede the political aspect.
