  1. Cumberbatch to shuffle off from Hamlet – without signing autographs. (You can hardly blame either Benedict--Hamlet is well-known to be a particularly exhausting role--or the theater, which can't want to deal with a mob situation at the stage door.)
  2. As I heard it, the creator picked GIF-pronounced-JIF BECAUSE it sounds like the peanut butter--because "Choosy moms choose Jiff."
  3. This, definitely--and because of Mycroft's position, Sherlock was also protecting the entire UK government. Magnussen was building himself total control of all the significant people in positions of political power--we were shown this via Lady Smallwood and that throwaway comment about the Prime MInister--and by inference over non-governmental people of power. So far as I can see, the only way the series can continue is if the whole thing gets swept under the cover of "Official Secrets" and no one ever hears about it.
  4. From Playlist: The full docudrama "Van Gogh: Painted with Words" starring Benedict can be streamed (for free!) on Vimeo. (Note: The article is from yesterday, but the video has been up for 8 months. I don't know for how much of that time it's been free.)
  5. Hahahahahahahahahaha! (Both for the Comic Con video and the TEASER!) And re: the teaser from RadioTimes: Sherlock Christmas special trailer pays tribute to classic Jeremy Brett series with shot-for-shot recreation of opening scenes. I've seen all the episodes of the Granada series several times, but not recently, so I didn't immediately catch this.
  6. Well, if the special is going to be Dec. 2015, the new series wouldn't be less than a year later, so that's not really a surprise.
  7. Only the singers famous enough to sell out stadiums (and so already earning a lot) get endorsement deals. Doesn't really help working musicians.
  8. Mostly tours and merch. Singles not so much, unless they're Taylor Swift. The amount streaming services pay--or rather, don't pay--artists is unsustainable, they can't live on fractions of a cent.
  9. Benedict and Sophie were out and about last night, at the Serpentine Summer Ball. (Sophie looks lovely, and not at all like she had a baby less than a month ago!)
  10. Mazel tov! That's happy news! (Quite a week they had.)
  11. Heh! (Cole Porter got there first (1949), when asked who wrote "Some Enchanted Evening": "If you can imagine it taking two men to write one song." :) )
  12. It is my understanding (and this is from reading and conversations, I'm not a dancer) that nowadays most "street" dancers have actually had considerable studio training, just in street styles. So it seems that the show waited until the "dichotomy" became a distinction without a difference, and then decided they were different things.
  13. I wish they had dropped the whole idiotic idea of dividing all of dance into two "categories". Especially since so-called "street" is taught in dance schools just the same as so-called "stage".
  14. Jason Castro and his wife had a new baby girl last night, Hazel Lucia.
  15. Benedict has narrated a planetarium show about Solar Superstorms.
  16. I thought the whole point of having all these different dance styles on one show was to argue that no style of dance is better than another, a good dancer is a good dancer is a good dancer--so what the hell is this business of dividing the styles and having them compete?!? Boo.
  17. Martin as mime?: Martin Freeman in a Hush-Hush Whodunnit.
  18. Not a surprising result considering they chopped off the intelligence head by omitting singer/songwriter and alternative.
  19. If you mean Andy Grammer, he's got a major hit with "Honey, I'm Good," he shared the stage generously--and he told Billboard, before the finale, that Nick was going to win. I doubt Nick found anything to object to in any of that.
  20. That was good. (Which I was not thinking it would be.)
  21. {TB EXCLUSIVE} BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH SET TO PLAY THOMAS EDISON FOR WEINSTEIN COMPANY’S “THE CURRENT WAR”. Sounds like a fascinating project, and like a role that has a chance for another Oscar nomination.
