  1. Same! My husband told me I had my own Chicken of the Sea: Jessica Simpson moment 😂😂😂
  2. This is when the US and other governments should step in and create some expatriate flights. Especially if non Indian citizens aren’t able to access any kind of care. A very scary situation. Does the US have any military bases in India?
  3. Was Amira coming over to the States on the K1 visa or was it another visa (I think I read spoilers Andrew didn’t sponsor her visa)... I feel like either way, if agents watch this show they might flag her next visa (but is this level of immigration fraud really all that interesting?) . . I wonder if that will impact her ability to be on the show. Or maybe, she’ll just film in the States on a tourist visa. IDK... I feel like it’ll be more difficult for her to stay on... how is Jesse (of Darcy fame) able to stay on?
  4. The K1 visa is not an immigration visa. It's actually a non-immigrant visa. So, processing shouldn't take as long. There is also something called the K3 the visa (which is for spouses of US Citizens). The K1 and K3 are quicker to process because a lot of the immigration paper work (adjustment of status) is done *after* the foreign fiance/spouse arrives. I believe not many K3s are being processed these days though... so most spouses go through the CR1/IR1 process. One of the benefits of the CR1/IR1 visa is you're able to work as soon as you arrive in the States. You need to wait for work authorization when you go through the K1 visa. . . My US visa just expired and I've been considering applying for a new B1/B2 visa before we submit the I-130. I was always under the impression it was okay to travel to the States after starting the immigration process but you'd just be subject to a little more scrutiny. Will have to re-consider...
  5. Exactly, I am saying it is NOT an advantage. 😅
  6. The assumed home advantage is that they're familiar with the spices and flavor profiles of the food they're supposed to be inspired by and will have an easier time creating dishes. Both of the African American/ black chefs in the bottom did grow up with the food so, we aren't talking about a Marcus Samuelsson situation.
  7. I've been wanting to see more on this issue, too! And wondering how Jihoon is able to fight this battle from Korea. It seems like the woman who started the GoFundMe might have been stealing money? But, I don't think that is possible as the money was supposed to go directly to the lawyer. It's all a mess, and one of the reasons I would never want to get into an international custody battle . . . it seems really expensive and if JiHoon relinquished his rights when he allowed Deavan to leave Korea without him 😔
  8. I want to add out of the 3 bottom chefs 2 were of African/ African diaspora background and didn’t do their home cooking justice. Why talk down to chefs about not knowing how to deal with African flavors and spices? I always feel like chefs with the “home advantage” can be caught on the back foot because they are so emotionally invested in their dishes. I knew Brittany was going home because I was sure they wouldn’t send a black chef home for taking about their struggle finding their voice in the kitchen while having to cook colonial food (but maybe I’m just cynical about the pandering in this episode).
  9. Haven’t read the comments yet. But, as someone from Africa I was so annoyed they billed this challenge as “Pan African” when they really meant “African diaspora in the Americas”. They only had an appearance from one restaurant that was “West African” and then the other restaurants were based in the Americas. Maybe a small thing to be annoyed over, but I was really hoping to see African food highlighted.
  10. When you file for the K1 visa or CR1/IR1 visa (spousal)- they ask for proof of a legitimate relationship. One of the suggestions is photos of the couple together (some with with family). Brandon must have thought having a vacation with both sets of families would strengthen their case. I believe Russia is a high fraud country so, maybe he didn't want to hit any roadblocks and paid for the vacation... Or maybe Brandon's mom wanted in on fun vacation to Europe and he didn't know how to say no . . . I think Jovi and Yara only applied for the visa after Yara fell pregnant, so maybe they thought the pregnancy was proof enough. Jovi also doesn't seem like the type who would allow parents to crash his drinkathon vacations around the world...
  11. We saw Amira walking in the streets to get some dinner or lunch at one time. IMO, I don't think your partner should be your language teacher. Instead Julia should get online and find a language exchange partner. She can teach someone Russian and they can help her out with her English (this is something a lot of my friends in bilingual relationships do).
  12. https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/covid-19-delays-in-extensionchange-of-status-filings https://www.cato.org/blog/6-million-foreign-visitors-students-guest-workers-were-stranded-us-beyond-air-departure-dates People are able to file for an extension, but if they do not file for the extension before their visa expires the extension won't be granted. The US isn't making anyone leave the country. But, if you don't leave before your visa expires or file for an extension, you are out of status. It's a fairly simple concept. It looks like U.S immigration doesn't look at the reasons behind overstay once it happens. Edit to add: I read it wrong... US immigration will consider late applications: "USCIS reminds petitioners and applicants that it can consider delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic when deciding whether to excuse delays in filing documents based on extraordinary circumstances. Under current regulations and as noted on our Special Situations page, if a petitioner or applicant files an extension of stay or change of status request (on Forms I-129 or I-539) after the authorized period of admission expires, USCIS, in its discretion, may excuse the failure to file on time if it was due to extraordinary circumstances beyond their control, such as those that may be caused by COVID-19. The length of delay must be commensurate with the circumstances. The petitioner or applicant must submit credible evidence to support their request, which USCIS will evaluate on a case-by-case basis. These special situations have been used at various times in the past, including for natural disasters and similar crises."
  13. They wondered, spoke to a lawyer and the lawyer advised against delaying the marriage. She advised Natalie either leaves before her 90 days were up OR she gets married. And they did speak about COVID and how the government had not released any information or guidance about extensions at the time of the conversation so they shouldn't risk it. Mike and Natalie had 90 days to marry. The visa isn't about deciding to get married or not but rather to get married and adjust your status. Natalie was able to leave the States and (supposedly) had a ticket to France. Nothing was stopping her from leaving the country or from getting married (they had a marriage license). Why would the US government forgive her overstay or extend her visa? What reason would Mike and Natalie give- cold feet? As the lawyer stated, that's a relationship issue not a legal issue.
  14. His season was hilarious and full of drama... but, I remember Tayshia being really annoyed after Fantasy Suites... so wonder if she sussed/ or was told something then? She really took on a motherly role when it came to the break up. Either way, I hope he feels loved and comfortable with his identity.
  15. I believe when Uncle Beau broke the news of the split ( a few weeks ago) he said there was no baby... but I could be wrong.
  16. Oh! Haha 😆. I thought we were on the couples page right now! I’m annoyed their storyline dominated the season and the Tell All. And we still don’t have any real answers. Both of them keep talking in circles and repeating the same lines. Are they returning for “Happily Ever After?” Or will this couple finally leave our screens?
  17. That could be it... for some reason I thought the properties were a lot closer together. And, I can totally imagine Natalie waking up her neighbors in the middle of the night by going to their homes. Their storyline is so strange and convoluted.
  18. Nathalie mentioned she went to both Tamara and Uncle Beau to check if they knew where Mike was... so I don't think he was with Beau.
  19. I wrote a similar theory in one of the episode threads and I totally agree! People would’ve loved the drama of a foreign fiancée actually going home for once . . . I think this story shows us you shouldn’t mess with visas to make some money. I’ll be interested to see if Natalie ends up getting deported or if she’ll be able to stay in the States. . .. side question: Have any divorcees from 90 days been deported or are they all still able to stay here?
  20. I'm from South Africa, and I didn't understand the concept of "biscuits and gravy" until I went to a great little diner in the States BEST. BREAKFAST. OF . MY . LIFE! I for sure thought biscuits would be just like scones but they are and they aren't... I don't know. Every time I visit the States I gain 10 pounds in a munt... the food is just something else.
  21. Paging Sharp Entertainment! Maybe we can get a crossover special. . . https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9435325/British-woman-26-wed-killer-penpal-meet-time-bars-jail.html
  22. My two favorite shows meet! (we need Sharp Entertainment to film this) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9435325/British-woman-26-wed-killer-penpal-meet-time-bars-jail.html
  23. I'm wondering if he doesn't drive because he doesn't want a car. Maintaining one in NOLA might be pricey. And I think he was doing a lot of travel when he was dating Yara. So, maybe it didn't make sense to buy a car he only drove once or twice a year . . .
  24. I'm thinking the hotel/flight/drive back was all a storyline because Mike and Natalie were always going to get married (because unless Natalie was okay with being out of status THEY DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE). How was Natalie going to survive in Europe with no job and no money and no credit card after flying to France? She didn't have the funds for ONE NIGHT in the States. How was she going to fund multiple days trying to get back to the Ukraine with the borders closed? If their storyline was just that... a story where they didn't get married and Natalie flew back home after the 90 Days, COVID really messed up their plans. 90 Days is a TV show with crazy storylines but watching it gives me so much anxiety sometimes because it involves people playing around with the law and their legal status in the States.
