  1. I'd think that if Claire started cooking her Turkey around the same time that Phil started cooking his; everyone else would have just assumed they were smelling Phil's turkey. Likewise, they brought their own (partially cooked) turkey with them to Jay's and quickly stuck it in the oven, and would have chalked up the turkey smell to that.
  2. I agree with comments upthread that a funny ending would have been to reveal that Luke had been up to something legitimately worrisome while his parents were focusing on the two girls. While I was watching I kept expecting the ending tag to be Luke and his friends smashing light bulbs over their heads or something. .
  3. That was the best part, "What are you doing driving your cars on the street outside my school? Can't you see I'm chasing a snowflake!?"
  4. We played "pinball" when I was in school too, of course I was pretty decent at it in the sense that I was reasonably agile and had a decent throwing arm. Honestly, I've never understood the way Dodgeball is shown on TV ... I was definitely one of the "loser" kids at middle school age, but I don't recall ever experiencing it as this viscous blood sport where packs of popular kids are out for blood and the "weak" kids are legitimately getting hurt and bruised. Maybe we used softer balls or something? Barry was portrayed as legitimately being very good at hockey last season, but that's about it.
  5. What makes her obvious as the future Joker? I haven't really noticed anything. She's doesn't really seem to try to be funny, she's not a genius with chemicals, she doesn't seem to be the type to go out and get her own hands dirty.
  6. Montoya: "We're arresting these cops for the murder of Oswald Cobblepot!" Penguin: "Hi, I'm Oswald Cobblepot!" Everyone at the Station: "You're the goddamn worst, Montoya."
  7. I felt like the Dunphy storyline was missing an explanation from Phil that his family had been forced to spend a week in a crappy motel room when he was a teen and they'd had a great time, so he was trying to recreate that here. Didn't Jay grow up much poorer than his kids and grandkids? I agree. Sleep with your backs to each other and don't hog the covers, it's got to be a lot better than sleeping in a bathtub a 4th night. Speaking of, they should have forced Phil to sleep a week in the bathtub.
  8. I think that Mitchell said he was going over the fence because it was closer to where he parked.
  9. Captain 'murika says that refusing to talk things out or compromise is true patriotism. Never consider that the other side might have valid ideas and points. Like I said, he represented the absolute worst of American ideals in this story. He's the Fox news of super heroes. But that was a case of existing laws being misused by the executive branch, the Supreme Court ruled internment of loyal citizens without cause was illegal and the orders were rescinded.
  10. The resolution to the story was the kids realizing that Phil booked them in the hotel because he apparently thought being stuck in a small, crappy hotel room would be fun family bonding time, not because they couldn't have got better rooms or stayed with Jay and Gloria. I wouldn't put it past him to have also lied to everyone about how long the mold removal was going to take. Biggest laugh I've got from this show in a while was when Manny came home from his date and tossed his keys on the table, only for them to slide off.
  11. Edit: I really shouldn't be getting so in to this here as it's getting off topic, apologies. Suffice to say that I feel that Cap and IM were both written horribly out of character in the Civil War storyline in the comics (IMO Stark was more 'right' in his initial position but the writing had him adopting despicable tactics in order to facilitate the story), and I really hope that they do a much better job with it in the MCU.
  12. I've always thought that the implication was that a number of Jedi survived the purge, and that Vader spent the early years of the Empire hunting them down and killing them. If this show is going to have Vader constantly hunting these Jedi and them narrowly escaping, with the implication that it's just a matter of time before Vader wins, it could be pretty cool. It doesn't seem like that's going to be the plan though.
  13. But Cap was fighting for the absolute worst of American "ideals" in Civil War,fighting against basic tenents of Demorcary because he believes that he and his super powered friends are special and should be held above the law and will of the American people. I mean, he was basically an amalgam of Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis to Stark's Lincoln/Sherman in the Civil War narrative.
  14. All in all, it'd probably be better if the stuff about writing Iron Man out of the script completely due to RDJ's desire for a larger role had gone down. Civil War already screwed up Stark's character in comics, now they're going to ruin the awesome movie version too ... Great.
  15. I didn't have a problem with Andy prior to this, but his whole thing about how kissing him would have "ruined" her or (or whatever it was), that was just weird and made him look like a jackass.
  16. If she's not doing anything other than pot, maybe he knows but just doesn't care? He's not a Narcotics officer.
  17. So, Jim signed for custody of Cat ... Does that make Selena Kyle the (temporary) 'young ward' of James Gordon?
  18. One thing that bugs a little was Gordon and Bullock saying that they killed an "innocent" man. The guy had emptied a clip at him and was about to stab Gordon with a chef's knife. Sure, he was probably reacting like that because he realized he was being framed and would have been murdered in lockup, but it wasn't an unjustified shooting.
  19. Barbara here reminded me of Kate Kane from the comics, the obvious wealth, the way she looked a carried herself, the relationship with Montoya. Also, Montoya was the worst, "I got a tip from an possibly insane, self serving source implicating a fellow cop who I barely know and have done nothing to investigate it, what should I do first? I KNOW, I'LL GO TELL HIS FIANCE!"
  20. It being ugly is the real crime, say what you will about Bruce, he's got style.
  21. I think the last line was actually, "I just won Instagram, bitch." It made me laugh.
  22. I feel like there was a missing step in the Ravenswood story, IIRC the jars protected the spirits from preacher guy, so once they got rid of him they'd have been able to open the jars and free the ghosts. Why would Mrs. D need to have seen Melissa burying not!Ali? Is that one of the events and I forgot about it? I'd think that the scenario works if you assume that Alison and her accomplice were about to bury Bethany in the grave but saw/heard Melissa coming and hid before she could see them.
  23. I'm looking forward to the Christmas special, it looks like some of the probably not in continuity Christmas specials they did on Warehouse 13 and Eureka, which were usually a lot of fun.
  24. As I recall they said in a previous episode that there'd been thousands on dollars worth of property damage, they'd managed to ruin some of the heavy equipment. According to the internet that'd be a class D felony in Missouri (IIRC that's where East Riverside is supposed to be) which is 1 to 4 years in prison. I'd guess that they'd plea her down to a misdemeanor charge and maybe get her down to probation. Of course they also said the DA was out for a high profile conviction of a State Senator's daughter, but I'm not sure the someone like that would be satisfied with letting Bay escape serving any time in jail.
  25. Bay confesses to protect Daphne? All to keep Daphne from spending 3 months in jail for a crime she committed? What in the actual hell, show? As far as I know, there's no law against Felons going to medical school, keeping them out for their criminal record is up to the school. And Daphne's family has the money and political connections that could get her in. I think it's going to make Daphne, Regina, John, and Kathryn all look really bad if they let Bay go through with it. I know that the SaB Universe legal system only superficially resembles our own, but, given the amount of property damage Daphne and Nacho committed Bay would certainly be in danger of a felony conviction herself. Also, this whole story is going to blow up anyway if Nacho is ever caught.
