  1. David Bowie's "Space Oddity" would have fit much better than Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon," but it would have probably cost a bundle more. Maybe the Cliffhanger of Seemingly Infinite Variables was supposed to show the network execs that they could have their pick of outcomes—including romantic pairings. Or maybe the writers knew the ratings had doomed the show by the time they wrote the finale, so they decided to let everyone's ideas see the glimmer of day.
  2. He did manage to survive being thrown out of an airplane that was in mid-flight (although I can't remember his explanation to Jamie for how he got out of that situation). Well, Abigail the Zombie had the tank that not only kept Mitch alive for 10 years after a fatal attack of the razor animals, but enabled her to turn him into Duncan. So if the show comes back, maybe Logan will be Dunce.
  3. Which would amount to abandoning a tropical aboriginal tribe in Antarctica. But with Santiago Cabrera looking so adorably chill about the situation, no worries.
  4. Jaimie the Assassin is left to play kissy face with Mitch? No wonder Abigail got the baby and the hybrids were running amok. Likewise, Jackson had to waste precious time he had to shut down the beacon to snog his girlfriend and then to drag her back to safety. Again, no wonder the hybrids took over the central command. So I guess if they were going to name the baby Max, it needed to be done before they forgot about him.
  5. LOL! Although I suppose they have 3 years of space diapers.
  6. LOL. Maybe they need to enlist Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad. Valid points, but what can we expect from TPTB who do continue to renew Zoo? I was unfamiliar with Santiago Cabrera before this show, so it was worth it to get to see him. He was particularly charming in the finale.
  7. Yeah, you can only add the parent thread of SPECIALS, TV MOVIES & OTHER ONE-OFFS to your PTV customized home page. That's what I did, but then I do regularly check that page.
  8. Well, no shortage of action. Or palace intrigue or political drama. I really do hate to ask (but it seems somebody has to because her mother seems to have forgotten about her): Where in the world is Zoe Barrows? Africa, I hope, or at least not at Tanz properties. More importantly, where's Grace's dad? Huntington's Disease? Bummer. So is Sasha Roiz the secret leader of Re/Syst? Any chance of the show being renewed? If so, will they come back One Year Later with a little Grace and Harris baby? And a little Jillian and Liam baby? Ostensibly betrothed to each other? Please. No. Writers, do not go there.
  9. For those wanting to slog through Ken Burns' currently airing, 18-hour The Vietnam War at your own pace and time, see here: http://www.pbs.org/show/vietnam-war-not-edited/
  10. For those of us home this afternoon, at 5:00/4:00pm Central, the beloved "Hash" episode is airing on Antenna TV.
  11. I had decided not to watch (the Vietnam War was the backdrop that ultimately determined the fate of my high school Romeo-and-Juliet romance) but mentions here of the music caused me to at least watch the first episode, which is available free online: http://www.pbs.org/video/deja-vu-1858-1961-7tmfea/ I just watched part 2. I was wishing they'd given at least a brief account of Vietnam's centuries-long history of conflict between the north and south, and also the earliest colonialism by China and other countries. When I learned of that history in the 90s, I was amazed that McNamara's "meat grinder" ever got going. But then both educated and uneducated presidents alike seem doomed to preside over similar foolishness.
  12. Good point. Maybe Zoe is adopted or a stepdaughter?
  13. At least here in the northern reaches of Chicagoland on the over-the -air station, The CW (formerly My50 Chicago and still on channel 50), starting this Saturday, we too will have 2 consecutive episosdes of Major Crimes instead of just one each Saturday (which skipped every other episode). They will air from 9-11pm Central Time, so I will need a 20 minute nap sometime before then, unless I want to use the show as a sedative, heh. Curious. I'm going to ask now while there should be a lull for the mods between the Emmys and the new fall shows.
  14. Certainly IRL, it might not mean anything significant, but in a script, each word should count. So it could point towards Kim developing a drug problem, or it could be there just to throw us off so we don't notice something that's just barely hinted at. Or maybe Kim gets framed for dealing drugs or drugging someone.
  15. So this means that The Leftovers was eligible. Carrie C***'s acting was much better showcased in her role in The Leftovers than in Fargo, IMO.
  16. Who thought it was good advertising to have someone say they spent their college savings on a pizza franchise?
  17. Thanks to @BooBear's suggestion, I just watched the finale on the CW app. I liked the way the plot arcs were resolved. And the coda scene in Vietnam told us that the adventures would continue.
  18. I think this always happens on TV and at least does not always happen in real life: An accomplice or undercover victim will be wearing "a wire" to record the evil doer gloating about his/her exploits, and literally moments before the cops arrive to take down the evil doer, the evil doer will rip open the shirt of the poor mope* wearing the wire and come this close to killing him/her. *"poor mope" ™ Lennie Briscoe, Fin Tutuola, et al.
  19. I kept wondering why they only sent open air vehicles. How many times has this happened now? Several episodes ago I just started assuming I missed the memo stating that she has super-healing abilities. Now that you mention it, I bet Sam is Abigail's son. She probably lied to Sam though, and told him Jackso,n was his evil daddy. BTW, the actor who plays Sam/Connor is a Harvard grad. I wonder if when he was doing all those stunts he was thinking, "This is nuts. Next stop law school."
  20. No way! That plane will be flying again in no time! The elves are retooling it as we type. Wasn't there actually a bit where Jackson was mad at Abe for keeping some deep dark family secret from him?
  21. And I, who have had my DNA sought after for scientific studies of two killer diseases in the last year, was wondering why they only needed to swab cheeks while I had to fill vials with spit. But having watched way too many episodes of CSI and that ilk, I'm thinking hairbrushes for the other DNA samples. And now that you mention it… …yeah, those envelopes should have at least been only identifiable by coded numbers that Liam or Jillian would have had in a master list of candidates. But I guess we viewers should appreciate the picture IDs so we don't have to keep track of names. Yes, good point on this, although as an American, both this week and last, I found myself regretting that "President" Sasha Roiz is Canadian and so can't run for POTUS IRL. He always seemed like a lovely human being on Twitter—but I guess that comes with being a stereotypically nice Canadian?
  22. So we're still assuming the baby will be Max, right? Or are we now wondering if Sam/Connor dies, one of those names? Or Robert after the other great grandpa if the "star" of the show survives to share that news. Or Jackson if he doesn't survive and it's an homage to "uncle" Jackson. Or just Oz and he can be little Ozzie. Or Abe if he's a goner. Or various combinations of the above.
  23. I was twice your age that year. I remember visiting my folks during the last season. My dad was emphatic about not missing the opening scenes because the rest of the episode wouldn't mean as much without having seen them. He was 84. Feel better/younger now?
  24. I had to work that night and didn't bother recording it because I assumed I could catch it online somewhere —but maybe not so much.
  25. Every time someone said they just needed to get the baby to safety, I kept thinking: WTH? The magical sperm and ovum providers are at least as important. It should have been badass Jamie instead of Sam in the hybrid decoy vehicle. They lived in Africa, right? Sam/Connor's mother could easily have been a person of color. For that matter, do we know that Abigail and Jackson weren't adopted in Africa? I really don't remember a lot of the backstory or earlier season's content.
