Just caught an episode of Surviving Evil. It was interesting but kind of drags with too much horror-movie type mood music in the background. And Charisma Carpenter's voice, to me, is like nails on a chalkboard. She has just enough of what sounds, to me, like that little-girl voice that sends me up a wall. Don't know if she helped develop this show or they found her past as a survivor of violence pertinent. Luckily she's not the only voice.

Big deal. I don't think Birk said anything different than what many others have been saying. I think I read that she called Bethy a "drama queen" and that seems appropriate for this health "scare". "Whether or not Bethenny Frankel’s medical problem is a serious one is unknown. Considering her mom’s comments, it doesn’t seem as though the issue is as dire as the show is making it appear. Whatever the case, Frankel is expected to have surgery to fix the problem, which is one of the reasons behind Frankel’s request for a living will. After all, even minor surgeries have a share of risk involved." And just, please, spare me the living will crap. Drama on top of drama. Pfft.

I'm not quite ready to blame Birk for Bethy's fuckedupedness. I think there's more to the story and plenty of blame to go around. I'm going to guess that Bethenny was even more than a strong-willed child with a motor mouth. Not excusing! Just wondering. I don't think her mom came off all that badly in the radaronline thingy. Haven't we really only heard Bethy's take on it? And her mother has been hearing the same raised-by-wolves-orphan mantra that we have.

I kind of like it. Whether purposeful or not they look closer to "normal". IOW un-Duggarly. I feel bad for Derrick's botched (?) surgery. It's got to be freaking hot there. Wonder if they have ac. But I'm sure no such thing as cold water for a cool-down shower. Oh my. I think I just defended them!

Bella is gorgeous. Gigi looks better from behind, imho.

She has a sharp wit? That implies humor. Her rapier-like "wit" is closer to assaultive, imho. When I find myself in provocative situations I've found it beneficial to not take the bait. And I don't blame others for my bad behavior. I was much younger than B when I realized it was better that way. For everyone.

Re: Jill's art I didn't think we were all that cruel. And I'm not sure I understand how this is different than joking on Derrick's interpretive dance, or Bin's rapping, or Jana's DIY skills, or the other kids discordant music etc. etc. etc. Mainly what I see are posters in a quandary over what the fuck she's using for a brush! She might do a better job with the right tools. That they have for sale at the Walmart. Or is she using materials meant for the mission? I wouldn't choose to IG my first (?) attempts at drawing 'cuz that's opening a door, imho. But, I'm not a Duggar.

Thanks, @Crazycatlady ! We're in a small town that still does small-town 4th of July parades so attended that. Really fun, everything from kids on their decorated bicycles to decorated trailered pontoon boats, go-karts, horses, old cars, fire engines, Legion color guard, and more! Even a bagpiper! I did not know there were 8 day Danube cruises. @emma675 your travel thoughts mirror mine completely. I don't wanna go, it's too long etc. Then, I am so glad we went! Glad I'm not alone. And it can be challenging finding some shorter trips. Happy 4th everyone! We live in a great country, imho.

Responding to post in Steel Calzones. Here are some SkinnyGirl numbers from 2014. Looks like their premium brands are doing well. SG? Not so much.

I had assumed it was a piece of chalk or a chunky crayon but on closer inspection it looks like something that might come with Cracker Jacks. The kind of "prize" that makes you groan. If that's what they're handing out to the kids they're supposed to be serving then they should just pack up and go home. And take their Dum-Dums with them. Plenty of money for candy...

I figured it was implied in her defensive responses to criticisms of her behavior, "The ratings are up!" is what I understood to be her defense. Speculation after seeing quite major jawline diminishment over the last year. Botox? Or knife?

We recently had been wondering why we were seeing so many squirrels darting around under the house (we're in a stilt home) until husband went to prep the riding mower for sale and found peanuts stashed on its deck. Lots! Someone in the neighborhood must put them out and the squirrels were gettin' ready for winter. Or summer. It is Florida so maybe they were just saving for a rainy day.

Just saw an abridged version. Did they really have the balls to use a Jimi riff as the music? And we're supposed to believe that Joe is playing it? That promo is awful on so many levels. Seeing them together now is kind of squicky.
