  1. This. I really thought that comment was pretty bad. I'm fairly militant myself but damn - that comment was such an emotionally unprofessional thing to say. And stupid. RNM has always struggled in the ratings - she should have been trying to build a bigger tent for everyone rather than whatever she was doing.
  2. Let me be clear - I'm not advocating on behalf of HH - I'm advocating on behalf of my own black womanness because I'm sick and tired of seeing this. Also - black women typically have to play both sides of things just to keep a job. HH probably never saw her character as being important to RNM - maybe she never read the books or saw the OG show so she doesn't realize how SHAFTED she was, or maybe she was mostly fine with that and just glad to have a job. Either way - that's not the reason most BW and allies are angry about the treatment of Maria.
  3. Hahahahha!!! I totally get the reference because I was SO GLAD the show ended there with the HEA for Lyta/Seg. Ha!! And yep - we were right about her. Fans KNOW when stuff is shady - especially if we've lived it before. I was wondering what drove me back to this board this week to just vent about Maria's treatment. Now I know... the universe wanted me to be there for this epic and wonderful moment of karma and sweet justice.
  4. It is!! And that writer from the show says there are folks lined up to drag her. I suspect this weekend is gonna be WILD.
  5. Yoooo this guy is going complete scorched earth, lol!
  6. HOLY Shikes that is damning. I mean - wow. I read through that thread - he is calling her out completely. He calls her White women Woke and says it's all about her centering white characters and then having the PoC dancing around in the background as props. Whew. I knew going in to S2 that it was gonna be a mess and I bolted before my eyes bled - but no idea it was going to be THIS Bad and that she was just going to continue her reign of racist terror in S3. One chuckle I have gotten out of this is that Michael Vlamis is going to have to grow up really fast - no more gravy train with Carina where you get over and the expense of the cast - except Alex. And can I just say - this Alex is NOT Roswell Alex. He's nothing like Alex in the books or the OG show. He has NEVER felt like Alex to me, and Liz, Maria and Alex have never felt like real friends - the "friendship" only comes up when it's time to bash Maria over the head with it. Whew. I feel like dancing a jig.
  7. With the whole HR thing and tension with JM and with how Liz was written WAY OOC this season from what I've heard - I think that it's highly possible Carina was retaliating and JM filed another complaint - retaliation is a huge no-no and in this climate you just can't get away with that anymore. With the whole ITV thing blowing up, I think WB just said, screw it - she's out. I'm just so happy about this I cannot even right now. I don't want to begrudge Malex fans - but tilting ROSWELL which is supposed to be about a guy who loved a girl so much that he risked EVERYTHING to save her to be pretty much about anything but to the point where the ROSWELL ethos is just lost and characters just don't make sense - no - that's not Roswell and I'm SO glad she's gone. SO GLAD. I haven't been this happy since they killed Katrina on Sleepy Hollow and even though that still led to the exit of NB and her blacklisting, I don't think that will happen here. They'll either climb out of this hole in S3 and it will get another season, or they won't and that's a wrap and the OG show will still be supreme as it has far more episodes. *grins evilly*
  8. I'm here!!! I am SO glad to hear the news - but not sure things will change for the better with Maria. So I'll give it a shot but I don't know that they can fix it? But I'm glad she's gone. She should've listened to the black and PoC folks she had - black women on twitter couldn't have been the ONLY ones questioning her treatment of Maria. Hell - next season Maria could be gone, so ... But I do think S3 will be the final season, unless something drastic happens. Going to a virtual paint and sip party now - be back later.
  9. Holy crap - I literally had to double check and verify that was really him! OMG. What a voice!! I'm actually flabbergasted.
  10. Charmed clearly does - it does this kind of stuff SO much better than this show. I haven't watched this show since the spoilers came out for the threesome episode - but I do wish someone on youtube somewhere took all of the Jason Behr scenes and put them together so I could watch that. He's just SO good.
  11. OMG this sums up EVERYTHING I have been feeling and saying with regards to Maria and is why I will NEVER come back to this racist (yes RACIST) show. God I'm so angry. I'm so SICK of this mess happening to the black women characters over and over again. I'm so over it. This snippet from one of the comments sums up my thoughts perfectly and why I can no longer watch this show: Perfectly said.
  12. I wish you good luck - I really do! I've decided to just watch once the series ends if I ever watch again. It makes me sad because - it's Roswell - but I just can't do this to myself.
  13. I can't stand Carina. I actively HATE her now. Her writing was RACIAL VIOLENCE to black women who have suffered seeing black women characters erased in narratives for so long. She created a triangle where no matter what, one under represented group was going to suffer. And worse, she's turned Maria into a plot device with no interior life or love just like Bonnie Bennett. I'm so mad this fake woke bish proved me right. I wanted to be wrong. I HATE that she's tainted Roswell with her BS. Eff her. I don't wanna ruin it - but it's Hacy (Harry and Macy). I recommend only watching the last 3 episodes of S1 and then watching S2. The show switched showrunners between season and the tone shifts (imo for the better).
  14. If you're looking for that kind of chemistry - I just watched both seasons of Charmed and I won't say which couple has it (it happens in S2 though), but I am HOOKED forever and I finally have a ship that rivals M/L. Finally. So excited for their S3, but I am done with RNM - haven't watched since the spoilers about the threesome and it looks like I was absolutely right to bolt from this fake woke trainwreck.
  15. Leo and Piper had twist upon twist and angst loaded upon more angst nearly the entire series. I remember several starts and stops before they got together - and their angst felt uber painful to watch at the time. Maybe it's because I got to binge this that I just enjoyed the angst with Harry and MACY (Maggie is the youngest sister who is an empath), instead of grated against it. For once it felt like the show was going to follow through and all the hallmarks of an endgame couple have been in the writing for them - just like I thought it was for Leo/Piper. I do agree that there was a LOT of Harry this season though, but I enjoyed the way they did the arcs. The back half of the season centered the sisters a lot more and put them together more too.
  16. I feel it's safe to say the show is pretty gung-ho on Harry/Macy - this is just another twist in their story. To be fair, Leo/Piper had constant twists and turns in the OG show, so I expected something like this with Harry/Macy - it's the only pairing on this show that has caught on like fire and TPTB know it. So they are gonna milk the chemistry-filled angst to the max. Based on the fact that this show went up in ratings and is beating out other shows with better timeslots, I think the big difference in S2 was Hacy. The show is gonna lean into that like the OG show leaned into Piper/Leo. I'm super excited about this show. I tried to watch in S1, but missed the first few episodes, and just couldn't get into it. I started binging S2 and couldn't stop... then I made myself stop halfway through and then went back and watched S1 - I much prefer S2, and really appreciate the world-building. They are creating their own mythology, honoring elements of Charmed, but giving things a different spin. The whitelighter mythology I really enjoyed - it makes SO much sense that in order to create a super good person who just obeys out of a human there would be "leftovers" of the "ego-driven" and bad parts. Also - Macy's wardrobe is SO much better in S2. S1 tried to make her "quirky" in her clothes and I will never forgive those cropped culottes in S1E3 that made her look like she was wearing hobbit clothes. Bring on S3!
  17. Normally I'd be screaming this with you, but 1) one of the writers on the show said they began dropping hints about Macy/Harry in S1ep6 - the episode where he went on the faux-date with her and 2) the actor playing Galvin was filming Jumanji 2. Pretty sure the reason he disappeared for so many episodes was because of said filming. It could be that they always planned on Hacy, but it could also be they pivoted when they realized Ser'Darius was too wrapped up in filming for them to do a pairing with Galvin and Macy justice. That and Madeleine and Rupert have searing chemistry. I wonder if they were chemistry tested when they were cast? Just in case, or on purpose. I mean - you could see little sparks in S1, but the intensity of it was just incredible in S2. Also - why is his age an issue? Leo was the same age difference with Piper and I never heard that as a reason why they shouldn't be together - in fact, folks loved that ship. Leo was born in 1924 and Harry was born in 1920. The 20 year difference in the show really doesn't matter much when you consider that Leo would have been 75 when he met Piper (he joined the show in 1999). So Harry was 98. But technically we don't know when Harry was made a Whitelighter - he died in his 30s, so technically that's what he is in terms of life years. The one thing that could be icky is whether Harry wiped Macy's memories and/or made her closed off. Macy herself said her parents made her closed off - not Harry. Harry only removed the memory of her using magic and of her mom. That could be icky, but I think the show meant to hand-wave that away - either that or the show plans to use that later on?
  18. I mostly agree - especially the parts about Madeleine - she did get short shrift in TTP, so I'm happy to see her getting her due here. She's easily - aside from the guy playing Harry - the strongest actor on the show. She is probably stronger than he is in actuality. The way I see it - the show is completely redoing the world-building and starting over with it and slowly building elements - including how they are getting their powers back, if at all, etc and how they learn to use stuff. I'm really enjoying it - for some reason I don't mind this show doing its own thing. Unlike Roswell, NM, which I hate for screwing up my favorite characters, this show has characters with different names, so they should have more freedom to switch things up and I really appreciate the slow world-building.
  19. Please no - this season is so much better to me than last season. Sorry!
  20. The way I see it, Season 2 is literally a new show. They've rebooted the whole thing - almost like nothing that came before happened really. I take it almost as if this is the start of the show. And for me - it works. But I didn't watch Supernatural, so. They've been layering in nice heartfelt moments to drive the story - along with the darker supernatural parts and I really like it. Thanks to who pointed out Poppy - I knew I'd seen her somewhere before but couldn't remember where. The one thing I really like this season is that Harry is no longer a caricature like he was for the few episodes I saw in S1 - he's not male Mary Poppins, lol. This season he seems to have far more depth and the actor is showing some serious range. Is there going to be any consequence of Maggie using that spell to influence the manager to get that job?
  21. I tried to watch S1, but found it clunky and try-hard. It's very hard to match the lightning in the bottle that was the original Charmed - mostly because that show had massively inconsistent mythology that was driven by changing sisters, etc.. I tried so hard to get into it last season and really struggled - it just dragged and felt like an inferior copy of the original - not a fresh take. And to be honest, the idea of the sisters being the guardians of the magical community just felt like yet another retread. The original series already did that. Unless the show was going to do it with a fresh take, then ... meh. So - take my opinion with the grain of salt that I barely watched more than 2 episodes all season. Until I decided to watch S2 and then watched the last episodes of S1 to "prepare". I LOVE that this show rebooted itself, keeping the elements that worked and giving itself the chance to really slowly grow and show the witches learning. I love the darker turn. I loved everything about it. And Harry/Macy - my God the chemistry was just way off the charts. What a nice surprise.
  22. She has to clean up her past. Don't worry - twitter has already copied EVERYTHING.
  23. I saw that too - it was trifling. This is the whole problem going on with the writers - even the women writers - they seem to think DP is at the same level as CP, no doubt this was what AJK pushed behind the scenes and clearly that's still going on now even if EW claims he was writing more for CP. I think I copied the tweets for posterity. I hate that we have to call people out so hard with receipts but that was just trifling on her part. And then the weak sauce of trying to claim Carlos was as much of a lead as Grant, WTF. She'd have been better off using the "they're an ensemble cast" BS the original Roswell show did when they wallpapered Shiri Appleby, who actually had top billing over everyone else, even Jason Behr. Though she did kinda try that at some point in the back and forth. Oh and that writer for ep 6.19 - she was blocking Iris fans left and right who called out the baiting she did and then she was liking posts by virulent racist SB fans who were thanking her for the SB shippiness. When IW/WA fans pointed out the racism of the SB fans she was catering to (specifically the ones whose tweets she liked), she blocked them. Thankfully fans got screenshots and it was all called out on some of the threads blasting DP, the producers, WB and others for pandering to racism within the fandom.
