  1. I agree. You're eye is just drawn to him because he's always "on." Another good example comes from Danneel's first ep last season. Its the scene where they're all choked, and in the commentary, Danneel says something like, you're acting funny. Jensen says, yeah we were almost just strangled. (paraphrasing). It's the little things. That scene where he removes Michael's cloths was the best scene of the night. Such great non-verbal acting.
  2. That's another thing Chief should have done was warn Dean so it wasn't' such a shock. The scene could have shown more support for Dean by having Sam or Jody do some of the dirty work. Or just have Sam yell "Shut the hell up" There are a lot of different ways it could have gone. This is why I don't find Sam is a good leader. He doesn't seem to want to make the tough decisions. Its' easy to tell people who worship and adore you to go hunt some vampires but when he cant' tell an untrained person they can't go on the hunt. He still makes Dean be the bad guy.
  3. I saw the scene the same way you did. But now I need to go back and rewatch it. ETA- On rewatch it does seem like she meant the monsters. Because its Jody who mentions she came back, and she says for them. That doesnt' make sense if she meant Jody and Sam. If TMNS is so awesome that she can take out arch angels, monsters and hunters, why could she untie herself from the ropes? Why didn't Sam offer her protection? Why didn't Sam stomp his foot and tell boo?
  4. I can't think of a time the show outright said Sam had a flaw. Because his flaws are usually a result of others not accepting his actions, not the actions themselves. I thought maybe with the whole Ruby/demon blood thing but that was swept under the rug with the whole "its your fault Dean." Sam joining BMoL's was him realizing he should have lead all along. Going into the cage maybe. But we had a very special episode dedicated to telling us how awesome, and brave and special Sam was so of course he should into the cage. The show certainly didn't frame it as wrong. Then they threw Cas under the bus. Sacrifice was another example. it was all Dean's fault. How dare Dean not trust Sam and have other people in his life. * Even when Azazel, said it, it was linked to Dean. I'm doing a s3 re watch and in Malleus Malificarum (sp? I have no idea) They have this conversation and Sam says that he is acting like Dean. *I realize not everyone sees these events this way, I'm simply stating the way I saw them.
  5. I actually thought Dean made that look good. LOL. I think the bigger/scarier things, are the monsters who can't be killed in regular ways. The thing that will take the bigger toll, I'd say something happens to Sam/Jack and/or Cas. That's usually how these things play out. Dean will have to repress his trauma to be there for everyone else. I'm thinking its Jack's illness. I'm dreading episode 7 because of this. That's the ep Jack has fainting spells.
  6. Yup. When Dean got in TMNS's face, Sam and Jody stood there and watched but she didn't say anything to them either. If KaiaSue actually did dare say anything to the great Chief, I bet dialogue would have been written to counteract it. I think the only reason the Michael storyline was allowed to see the light of day was that Dabb and co. saw it as an opportunity to write Dean as the asshat/selfish/weak/bully they see him as. If it wasn't Dabb wouldn't have made that breathing room comment. IMO, the Dean I'm seeing these last few eps reminds me a lot of Dean from The End. That cold, callous, uncaring version. Seeing how his so-called family seems to feel the same way about him, its not surprising he ended up there. He has no support system.
  7. Even if he wanted to toy with her, there is no reason why Michael wouldn't have used his powers to get the spear once KaiaSue dropped it. There was no reason to continue hand to hand combat because Michael had won at that point. It was all about Beren's showing off his character. Even more ridiculous was the the slow mo somersault out the window to grab the spear. It's frustrating because Jensen, was planting the seeds of a big bad that felt like a big bag. Michael was powerful, threatening and intimidating. All that was undone in 30 seconds because Berens can't handle the fact that his Sue's weren't picked up.
  8. That was the best scene of the ep and some great non-verbal acting from Jensen. I was trying to be cautiously optimistic that leaving Dean was part of a larger plan, since Michael did tell Dean that he owned him and that the scar might have been some way to possess Dean again without him needing to say yes, or he never really left but had given Dean back control and was lying dormant. I remember watching the gold panel from VanCon someone asked if Dean was back. When I saw it, my reaction is that he's ticked off or he's knows something he can't tell. Its about the 3:15. He clearly doens't want to talk about it. But the events of episode 3 don't really lend themselves to Michael still having a hold on Dean. I tend to think Dabb's spoiler article was accurate based on this.
  9. I know you were talking about this year. I was just using that as an example that it wasn't a done deal that the contracts were signed in december or January. We have no idea when they were signed. The thing is that episodes are written so far in advance. I remember Jensen talking about what a script has to go through to get approved and it sounds like a long process. So when they found out Wayward Sue's was not going forward, episode 3 should have been broken and mostly written. Which is why I think they wrote two potential scripts. Because the Sue's were the priority I think they discussed the possibility of how to incorporate it on the off chance it wasn't picked up. No matter what, I stand by my point. It was a crappy thing to do to Jensen. I don't think he had read the 3rd script by comic con since he doesn't read ahead. Or knowing Beren's and Dabb's preferences, it wouldnt' surprise me to find out that they had planned this all along as a crossover to help Wayward if the ratings were struggling. I don't either. I find they're not as dramatic as he makes them out to be. It was described as an original cast member leaving a long running series, and revealing it would ruin a storyline. They ruled out anything on Fox. I would guess its either NCIS or Grey's. The guy that plays Ducky would qualify. So it might be him, but I don't see them keeping that a secret or announcing it ruining a potential storyline as he's got one foot out the door anyway. Unless its Mark Harmon but NCIS without GIbbs is like the X-Files without Mulder and Scully. I don't watch Grey's so I have no idea whose orginal or what storylines leaving would effect. I get why Jensen stays. He has the closet thing you can get to job stability in Hollywood. For him I'm sure the pros far outweight the cons, so I don't blame him for staying, but it sucks as a Dean fan that the show refuses to write for him.
  10. Not necessarily. I remember at one of the comic cons Jared mentioned that he hadn't signed his contract yet. That means he signed it after filming started. So either they knew way before everyone that wayward wasn't getting picked up, outright lied to Jensen, or wrote two versions of episode 3. One if WS got picked up and one if it didn't. Either way its kind of a crappy thing to do to your lead actor when Dabb knew he was disappointed with how short Demon Dean was and Jensen asking if he'll have time to develop the character. They could have given a couple of episodes to Kaia to wrap up that story without giving her the Michael arc. Again Jensen's a lead. She's had two episodes. Jensen should have taken priority over Beren's Sue. I have a feeling coddling of Manbaby is going to get worse.
  11. Thinking about the end scene, I don't think it would bother too much if it wasn't the norm rather than the exception. Usually when Dean opens up and pours his heart you rarely does the show write supportive dialogue. Dean's hell confession, the Love Hurts confession*, confessing he felt guilty about John's death. Sam usually sits there in Silence. *Love Hurts- This is one can fall either way depending on how you view it. Sam gave some platitudes but in the end, he never really contradicts Dean's believes that he's not strong enough. Making me wonder if he agrees.
  12. I would like something like this. But I think Berens is too in love with his Mary Sues.
  13. Its a small consolation but Dean teasing Sam about his beard got quote of the week over Beren's little Sue. Looks like that oxygen sucker got in the way again
  14. I think Berens has more disdain for Dean/Jensen than Dabb does. Dabb ignores Dean but Berens seems to go out of his way to denigrate him.
  15. I've been dreading the concept. I hope they changed their minds. Even worse. Singer is directing
  16. There was one time I thought were were seeing Michael. Its the scene where Dean is walking ahead of Sam and Jody in the forest and we get a close shot. Dean looks is looking around but his he looks shifty and then when Sam and Jody catch up it looks like his face changes. Let me see if I can find the gif ETA: Found it. I know its probably just Dean looking around but the movements seem a little stiff
  17. There are two reasons, I could accept Michael leaving Dean. First is that we find out Dean was too annoying. Michael was tired of fighting him every step of the way. It would suck that it all happened off screen but I could accept it because it would show Dean is stronger than he thinks, or Michael left Dean as insurance. Finding out he was was vulnerable to the spear would have shocked him. So Michael somehow used Dean as a Horcrux. Left a part of himself. So if he dies so does Dean. That's a story I wouldnt' mind seeing.
  18. why would he send his werewolfs when he could have showed up an vaporized her with the snap of his fingers. And as a bonus, take out Sam, Dean and Jody as well. Why would he leave his perfect vessel who is supposed to make him stronger? Neither thing really makes a lot of sense story wise.
  19. I feel like this should be the tag line of the show. I wouldn't mind something like The Manchurian Candidate, where Michael can remotely activate Dean and make him do his bidding, sort of like Naomi did with Cas. But that would be more interesting than Ninja Sue
  20. In the promo for he next episode we see this hatchet man say "We all do bad things sometimes." Then it cuts Dean to see and we see the chain saw go flying at his head. So it seems there is a strong possibility that we are for a continuation of the "Dean is a bad person" theme. Although, I admit Dean holding a lollipop is somehow oddly enduring.
  21. I could be mis- remembering but he called Dean because he lost too much blood and he needed him to get his supply from his truck. He seemed shocked that Dean wanted to stay and help him take out his nest. Benny didnt' ask. Then in Citizen Fang Benny had himself settled. Sam sending Martin after him messed that up and cost Benny his support system. The fact that he called Dean for help never came across as using Dean. He wouldn't have needed help if it wasn't for Sam. Dean cut him off. One of the times I will freely acknowledge Dean was the dick, not Benny. My unpopular opinion is that Benny only came between Sam and Dean because Sam put him there.
  22. Talk is cheap if its not backed up. Dean, in this episode was shown to be a bully to Jack. Jack left crying when Dean told him to stay back. Dean pulled a gun on a scared, traumatized teenager for no other reason than to get her in the car (this was Beren's words after that ep aired He said he did it becaue he would never shoot). So that's either extremely lazy writing or Berens really sees Dean this way. Neither is acceptable. Then Dean puched her and tied her up, and wanted to torture her and then threatened her. All the while Sam and Jody kept looking at Dean like he was some kind of diseased killer No one refuted that. That would have been a good time to remind Dean off all the good he's done. This isn't the first time he wrote Dean that way. If he didn't' feel that way, he wouldn't' write him that way.
  23. I'll move my response as well to be on the safe side
  24. I firmly believe that Buck/Ross Lemming write in a vaccum. I think they're going to say that Michael meet with the werewolf boss, then baited the trap for Sam, Bobby and Mary. While waiting for them he went to retreive the spear. He was injured and weak and knew he needed to regroup so he chose that moment to leave Dean and is why Dean collaspsed, and he was planing to come back. But for reasons....Michael won't be able to possessed Dean again even if he said yes.
