  1. The problem here is that this is a tv show. Less of a burden on Dean would be great if he was real, but since he's not it translates to Dean wondering around the bunker with no role in it whatsoever. If they wanted to push Sam into taking more responsibility, they didn't totally have to take this role away from Dean. There was room for both. Its not like Sam has never stepped up or lead before. He has when necessary but its never been something Sam has ever really show an interest in until one moment when Sam decided he needed to lead. It wasn't just stepping up, it was taking over. His big speech was follow me, not us, and when he made it he had no idea Dean was staying home. As for the leadership position, it was taken from Dean, because Sam stepped in and took over when Dean was gone, and when Dean came back, he was never asked or shown not wanting it. If he did how it would be just presented as Dean not trusting or babying Sam. Not taking the leadership role was never a choice or an option for Dean. Dabb treats it as an either or he said that Sam was the natural born leader and it was Dean that prevented him from taking it or saying that they needed to get Dean off screen to let other characters breath. He's never said anything about Dean or even acknowledged Dean was a leader. Yes, Dean comes across as the leader when the AU people aren't on screen and IMO, is that is just Jensen's dominate screen presence. (This is what Dabb's breathing room comment was about). I bet if asked the writers would never say "yeah, I meant Dean to come across as the leader here." The writers don't see him that way. This current crew especially see Dean as comic relief, inferior to Sam in every way, and a bully and a killer. They don't highlight his strengths. Sam, at this point was the researcher, lore expert, weapons expert, he was given the majority of scenes with the guest stars, came up with most of the plans and got the majority of big kills. He didn't need to be the best leader in the history of leaders too. He's starting to turn into a massive Mary Sue because under Dabb he can do no wrong. Dabb certainly didn't need to make it so over the top that Sam is just the most amazing thing that they all just want to call him chief and obey his every order because he's just that awesome. I bet there will be a very special episode in the future were we see Sam get in trouble and all his flunkies will come to his rescue because he's inspired that much loyalty. (not a spoiler, just speculation). There is an imbalance in the way they show Sam's strenghts and Deans. Asa Fox is a good example. it was nice that Dean was verbally acknowledged, but Sam's fan boy just had to get up from the table and run to see his hero and talk about his accomplishments, whereas Dean got, didn't you die four times. IMO, there is a clear slant towards Sam. If they were going to take the leadership role away from Dean, they should have given him something else in return they didn't. He just wonders around the bunker.
  2. I can’t link on my phone but the episode description for ep11 is out. Michael Dean is a bait and switch with no follow up. The description spoils it. Dean gets to spend the episode with the ice queen and Donna “bonding” while Nick gets lots of choice and surprise surprise Sam makes an unimaginable choice. My guess is he says yes to Michael.
  3. We already know there was a massive re-write done on this episode. I'd be curious to see the original, same with Alpha and Omega.
  4. Whether he was dispatched or retreated doesn't matter, it still doesn't change the fact that she took him out without breaking a sweat, a nail, or getting a hair out of place. He was taken down so easily. These two things are contradictory if Micheal thinks in Eons than 2-3 months (or however much time passed) shouldn't have mattered to Michael. If he truly does think in eons that amount of time shoudn't have irritated him. Its just extremely bad writing. I don't think we'll see much. I think its been pretty much spoiled in the promo. Under Dabb what you see is what you get. I don't see this. Michael seems like he has no clue what he's doing. With how little damage Michael has done so far, and how easily I'm sure he'll be dispatched/retreats once again, they need to do something to establish Michael as a credible threat. Right now, his monsters need to be able to do considerable damage. Anything less it just shows that Michael's monsters are as big a joke as he is. But that reflects poorly on Chief. So it seems Dabb set this storyline up to really fail because theyre is no way to really get it off the ground becasue Dabb won't commit.
  5. I don't disagree but they haven't really established Michael as any kind of threat. His arrogance falls flat. He was easily dispatched by a teenager with a pointy stick, his hunter traps caught one and a half hunters (Maggie survived, of course), I can't think of anyone his monsters killed, and we know he's literally caught in less than five minutes after taking over Dean again. We know that Michael will be gone by the end of this episode so it doesn't seem like it takes much to get him to leave again. Because we (general we) know that Sam's record must remain impeccable, I don't see Michaels's monster's causing much, if any damage before Chief's army takes them out. He's not Uber powerful. He should be because Jensen is trying to play him that way, but he's has zero support form the writing staff. So its not coming across as overconfidence so much as stupidity.
  6. If Michael doesn't immediately eliminate threats that makes him an idiot. He has access to all Dean's memories and knows what that Jack is Mary Sue snowflake is loyal and would never change sides, no matter what. Plus, he has no powers. Getting caught to easy, once again and I'm sure the supreme leader's army will easily take out Michael's monsters, its making Michael and his army pretty pathetic.
  7. Yup. I still suspect this is going to be some kind of It's a Wonderful Life ep for Sam. We already know he gets the confrontation with John.
  8. I want to know why Michael just doesn't snap the cuffs off. We've seen that they are useless against arch angel. Or maybe they're only useless on Dabb's pet arch angels and we know Michael isn't one of those.
  9. I'd rather see him doing something live too, but I'm just happy he'd doing something outside of SPN. (if the rumors are true)
  10. I don't feel like Dabb has made the brothers more independent. Sam yes, Dean no. He's just as co-dependent and clingy as ever, maybe even more so. He still makes ever decision based on how it effect Sam. The show refuses to acknowledge Dean said yes to stop Lucifer. It was just about saving Sam (and Jack). Deans' really back to his season one self, mostly following orders from Chief and not really having a back bone. He might give a token protest but in the end he's made to cave. He took Jack out for some fun and apologized for that, that maybe he made it worse. Earlier that episode they had Sam question that decision and then they had Sam endorse it. Prior to Dabb, I feel like if Dean wanted to take Jack on hunts he would have said. We'll see about taking you out more. He didn't. He said "I'll talk to Sam about getting you out on more hunts" like Supreme Leader Chief now makes every decision and Dean needs his permission. I knew this wold happen the minute Dabb declared Sam was now the leader. Dean hasn't grown. He's regressed. He's went from being John's blunt intrument, yes man to Sam's.
  11. "May it be filled with unexpected treasures." "This is our year in so many ways!" Are they hinting at something? I posted an article about a casting rumor that Jensen will be doing voice work in an upcoming animated batman movie. Maybe that is what they are talking about.
  12. I love that movie. Topic: I agree. It's pretty bad when the general consensuses when something as simple as Sam playing with a fidgit spinner is seen more as Jared and OOC for Sam.
  13. I never mined the brothers being at odds if I felt it was organic, like their fight in Scarecrow, It had been building. Season 4 was another good example. I might be one of the few but I really enjoyed s9. Even is s4, even thought they were at odds, I still felt like they were on the same page. They were fighting for the same thing but they split on how to accomplish that, and I never doubted they loved each other. They were on different pages of the same book Now I feel the opposite. They might be on the same page but they're reading different books. Its been so long since I felt the like the brothers were actually in sync and it feels like they're on the opposite side even if they aren't at odds or at each others throats. It feels like I'm watching two guys who barely tolerate each other even if they aren't arguing. I'm not even sure these guys like each other very much. Especially, with how Jared is playing Sam these days. It seems like everything Dean says or does annoys Sam. I know that's probably confusing, it makes senss in my head, but I don't know how to explain it any other way.
  14. We know the Michael storyline was never a priority to Dabb. It was just his excuse to get Dean off screen so he had enough breathing room to make Supreme Leader Sue happen, because it wasn't going to any other way. No one will ever convince me of that was the only reason they pretended to allowed Jensen to play Michael. Yes, this season makes me bitter.
  15. I also believe Berens is taking out his frustration on his band of waywards sues not being picked up on Jensen. He can deny it all he wants but his little mouth piece spoke loud and clear.
  16. I'm not looking forward to the 300th at all. I didn't really like the 100th and I thought 200 was just stupid. For me, 300 sounds like once again Dabb is trying to do too much. To many shout out and thinking their clever and sounds like there are going to be so many guest stars that Sam and Dean will get lost. Not to mention, I'm not looking forward to what the city thinks of the boys. I have a feeling I know. I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised. I didn't like the idea behind Baby but that turned out good. Hopefully this will turn out like that, but the Dabb/Singer combo doesn't fill me with confidence. I can't even get excited about more Michael Dean becasue that looks like its like once again its over before it starts. It looks like Sam gets the confrontation with Michael. (With this show, what you see is what you get, and the promo clearly shows Sam fighting Michael). Can't have a black mark on the supreme leader of the know and (and unknown world) record, so I'm guessing his hunters will easily take out Michael's monsters. The only thing I'm looking forward too is the scene Jensen mentioned at the last con where he said that Dean is in a bad spot physically, and Jensen said he made the crew cry.
  17. That is what what he said, though. He called Dean a whiny brat and said he sounded like a princess and threw the words boo hoo at him. Bobby's speech sounded exactly like he was telling Dean to stop being upset he acted like Dean didn't have a right to feel the way he did. Those arent' the words you would use if you were trying to tell someone you understood how they felt. If that was the message Bobby was trying to get across why not say something like, "Dean, I know your mad, and you have every right to be, but you can kick Sam's ass later, but I know you and I know that if there was even a small chance to save Sam and you didn't take it, you would never be able to live with yourself. " Same message and acknowledges Dean's feelings instead of outright dismissing them.
  18. We know that the 300th contains time travel, and past guest stars. We know that both Mary and Sam interact with John. Not even a mention of Dean. And that we see how the towns people see Sam and Dean. So I wonder if this is a "this is your life Sam Winchester" episode and Dean has to perform a spell to save them or something so he goes around town getting ingredients and this is when we see how the towns people view them. I'm not looking forward to the town's peoples opinion because I have a feeling I know what they are. There was also the Jax con afternoon panel. Someone asked how their life's would have been different if John died instead of Mary. Jared said something about maybe we'll find out and Jensen's reactions could be interpreted as "shut up" That would be an interesting concept but im not sure how the towns people would fit in.
  19. Thanks. That does sound like a great ep, especially one for Dean. They had the perfect opportunity with the Michael story where Michael was constantly coming after Dean and Dean being strong enough to resist. Such a wasted opportunity to really showcase Dean's strengths.
  20. From @Aeryn13 in the social media thread. I never watched SGA. I've seen this ep mentioned before. What was it about?
