Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat

We see what you did there. -
I don't think either Chad or JJ, or anyone in Abby's family or circle of friends (as small as that circle should be) owe Cat or her brother any sympathy or even understanding at this point, except in the most elemental of ways. Forced to behave as she was, and as much as she acknowledges the pain she caused, that pain is real and raw and if it had involved the kids, it would have been so much worse. The people she hurt, unwillingly as it was, are entitled to their feelings and are entitled not to care about hers, especially at this point. The ruse was just revealed. I do wish that Show would find other words to use than "bitch", though. I'm not much of a fan of Rafe, never have been, but I hope that he takes Paulina to court and I hope she loses. Paulina was downright rude and condescending to him and I'm tired of everyone in town treating her entitlement like it's some sort of charming quirk. She's a pain in the ass. I really liked Gabi and Jada's conversation in the kitchen about Jada's promotion. I expected Gabi to be rude and harsh with Jada and it was such a pleasant surprise to see her so loving and understanding. I'm like this Gabi recast more and more and today I loved her. Getting her away from Stefan is the best thing that's happened for the character. Getting rid of Stefan entirely is good all on it's own.

My my my, what an episode. I knew that today beginning with a big bang and Nick immediately jumping up and running out of the room either meant Phyllis's crash, or letting us know that Nick had one too many bean burritos for breakfast. Then, Our Hero rips off his coat like he's either Superman or has another nits infestation. Speaking of a nits infestation, there's Victor, once again, proving how accurate this description is, by telling everyone what a wonderful day he wants Abby and Devon to have while at the same time, setting up Abby's uncle and Abby's cousin for public humiliation and disappointment. Not there's any sadness in seeing Kyle once again swallow his lips as he takes it on the chin so deservedly from his mother. There were a lot of comments from the guests about how horrible Diane is but for me, her rotten kid and Victor aka Jabba the Hut are Olympic gold medal winners in the asswipe category. Another Tucker mention makes me hope, for no good reason, that he might reappear. It'd be pretty sweet if he swept in and stole Chancellor away from Victor, though I don't see how it would help Lily and William Le Merde Abbott, who I really want to win. Unfortunately, I'm thinking that with Jill invoking her poor health, she really is selling to Victor and not planning a doublecross. I hope I'm wrong. I also hope JG isn't killing Jill off as part of this storyline. So Jordan is back??? Damn. We get to hear more breathless soliloquies and Colleen Zenk standing around with her mouth open. Somebody fill it with brussel sprouts. He's usually "flood pants Billy". At least he didn't wear his boat shoes and captain's hat. Oh yeah. Nikki can shut her pie hole and though I rarely say it, Jack can as well. Also Traci and Ashley, STFU. -

That was mostly a stomach-churning episode, wasn't it? If any proof was needed that Nikki is a total twit, her breathless kowtowing to that mutated science experiment she calls a husband, all because he rebuilt Barbie's Malibu Mausoleum for her proves it. I've seen cozier funeral homes and what's with those striped drapes? It looks like a stage background for a 4th of July celebration. It wasn't enough to humiliate Nikki with her groveling to her husband, Cthulu. Everyone who came in his proximity had to do the same. He cleared Devon's family get-together as if he'd forgotten to take his Gax-X capsule this morning. I'm hoping that Jill is just shining Victor on, doing some sort of setup to make Billy and Lily really put aside their differences to show her and each other that they can really work together to save the company. I can't bear thinking that she's actually, really, selling Chancellor to Victor so that loon of a wife of his can add it to her charm bracelet. Show has managed one thing I never thought possible. I'm on Billy's side. Damn does it hurt to say that! -

It's started happening to me, too. A certain nickname I use for Master William Abbott Le Merde now, automatically turns from the B word description I've used into "Billy". It's like having an onsite word roomba divebombing posts. -
Oh no!! I hope the damage to the car is minimal.

I'd be more than happy if he started calling him "Hey, Asshole!" But then, I'm just old-fashioned and sentimental that way. -
Friday's show was the most all-around enjoyable episode, for me, in quite some time. I thought everyone pretty much meshed and even though Kristen really had no reason to be there, I loved Marlena slapping her hand away from the flowers and having most everyone else ignore her. I love Belle so I was glad to see her back, ditto Andrew and Paul. I also loved the Maggie, Julie, Sarah and Holly scenes. There's a change in how Holly is being portrayed, I think, and I like it. She's calmer, maybe starting to mature a bit? The weakest for me were the boys playing baseball but that really was fine, too. Our underlying knowledge of what's to come, with Doug's passing and now John's certainly played into my reaction to Friday's show, I know. If Show can keep up this kind of character based storytelling, at least for those storylines, I'll be very content.

Awww, talk about Precious Moments! Vlad rebuilt Castle Transylvania and took us all on a trip down Misogyny Lane. We got to see Victor build his own Bride of Wigglestein from discounted parts and a voice box ripped out of an old Betsey Wetsey, first lured into his fetid lair by Lurch portrayed by Paul Lynde. Through mating rituals designed by the Dark Arts, several monstrous eggs were laid and the Newman Dynasty was born. The castle was redecorated by a demented Laura Ashley and the only romance ever condemned by the CDC as a public health hazard began, nurtured in a house devoted to the kind of love and family only the Newmans can manage. Anybody got a match? -

I'm leaning more and more in the direction that Tara somehow successfully mated with a marked down Precious Moments figurine and then passed off the result as Kyle's. As if. He's hardly a collectible. -

All of you most excellent preverts covered the Wagnerian Opera that was Heather's Taco Bell Drive-thru Funeral complete with white Texas Bluebells so well I've got nothing to add, except......I'd have loved to see Sharon respond, when Daniel told her not to come to funeral with "I'll stay away from the funeral when you and your troll family get your coffee somewhere else". GCAC - nothing says "fine dining" like an accompanying funeral. Rather than all those tributes to Heather, I think a little polka party with Myron Floren and Co. could have really livened things up, given Heather the sendoff she deserved, and one that Paulie Tightpockets would have wanted. You gotta give the people what they want. -

That poor bartender. That poor man was stuck, being stutterbarked at by Phyllis at her looniest and all he could do was polish a glass and hope it would be an effective weapon if she jumped over the bar in hungry velociraptor mode. I know Sharon's the one having the delusions but Phyllis is nothing but delusional, ever. Also, I hate MS's newest acting tic, you know, the almost-crying taut voice she now uses to end every scene, as if she's Scarlett O'Hara declaring she'll never be hungry again. STFU, please. Pity Party Central didn't end with her, though. Billy is back to being full Biscuit with his constant whine of "nobody respects me" b.s. No shit, Sherlock, nobody respects you because you've screwed up your life to this point, so why would anyone believe anything different? Also, you've been handed every job, every position on a silver platter, from either your brother or your mom. Those two roam the streets of Genoa City, free and clear, and it's Connor and Ashley who end up in institutions?? I can't get into this Nate's long lost brother storyline at all. I did a lot of ff'ding with those scenes. It's hard to care about previously unheard of characters. -

I'm pretty sure I've never said a good thing about Billy Nostrildumbass Billy Abbott since Jason Thompson took over the role. In fact, I'm positive. So butter my biscuit and call me late for supper, but I'm going to say something nice now. Against my will, try as I might to resist, but he was GOOD today in his scenes with Sally. Good like I've never seen him be on Y&R, funny and charming and lowkey all the way. Nobody is more shocked than I am. On all of my previous attempts to try and like General Hospital, at which I failed each time, Jason Thompson's character, Patrick Drake, was one I was always happy to see. But I didn't think he fit the role of Billy Abbott from Day 1, not at all. But today, with Sally, he was fine. More than fine. I can't believe it. Now the rest of the show was dreck, especially stutterbarking Phyllis stuck on repeat, as usual. -
None taken. What I mean is that while I don't like the character, I do enjoy their machinations. For instance, I like who the character Maggie is and I enjoy watching her storylines and interactions. I don't like who Vivian is or what she does to people, but she sure is fun to watch and root against. Now a character like Ava, I just don't like or enjoy watching.

Making her a widow would be a good start.
