  1. Agreed. Dessert is what you get after you eat all your vegetables. Or in this case, what you get for being a good person. I like the idea of the afterlife being dessert. :)
  2. When Ted Danson turned around behind the bar and flung the towel over his shoulder like Sam Malone, I was elated. Now I really want to watch Cheers. This was another great episode. Three in a row that have brought tears to my eyes.
  3. I could tell she'd lost, but she's one of those people that carries a lot of weight in her face/neck. She's going to have to lose a lot to lose that waddle under her chin, and I think she's always going to look heavy until that's gone. I kept waiting for Tim to became rude or abusive, but he wasn't, he was nice and supportive. And Alicia went to her mom and had a grown-up conversation with her about her childhood issues instead of whining and making excuses for herself. They all seemed like nice people, and I hope things work out well for them. On question - in the rented house in TX, there was a child's drawing stuck to one of the cabinets that looked like it said, "I love you Mom and Dad." They don't have kids, do they?
  4. Is anyone else watching The Resident, AKA Logan Huntsberger, MD? I quite like it so far, though it reminds me a bit of House.
  5. They did this on the movie Napoleon Dynamite; Pedro had a pinata of Summer Wheatley, his opponent for student council president. But then he also had one of himself at his birthday party, and he explained it was a Mexican tradition. I am willing to concede, though, that it's not necessarily an actual Mexican tradition just because they said it is on Napoleon Dynamite. ☺️
  6. Ugh, they were so gold and shiny and awful, I wouldn't pay $15 for both.
  7. I can't really hate Alicia or Tim. They both seemed nice. A pretty non- eventful episode.
  8. Garrison's homecoming was sweet. He missed his mama. <3 I kind of love Christine. She seems like fun. And I like her relationship with her kids. I cracked up when Gwendolyn was wearing the wedding dress and she said she was going to go get pregnant.
  9. Just when I thought I couldn't dislike Kody any more, he said "irregardless." Christine's wedding dress was ugly. It deserved to be cut up.
  10. Just now watching. Did she ask the guy to be her daughter's Godfather?! WTF! I can't believe she asked him if he could blame her for not telling him about the kid. Um, yeah. You have a kid. If he doesn't like kids, then he's not the guy for you. Simple.
  11. Sure, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the fact that they made the donation with the stipulation that it was anonymous. Maybe I'm not being clear; I am not sure of the ethics of trying to location someone who made a donation with the understanding that it's anonymous. The assumption is that the person doesn't want to be involved, it seems unfair to try to track them down.
  12. I don't know how I feel about them chasing down a sperm donor. I mean, the guy was ok with being found and that's great, but aren't these things done with the understanding that they're anonymous? I would be none too impressed if a kid came chasing me down 40 years later from my "anonymous" donation.
  13. I loved this week's episode. I was so happy with the brothers hugging at the end. And Cameron's picture in his military uniform in front of a TARDIS was just everything. :) I live in Middletown, Ohio, so I was excited about the one filmed in Middletown a couple of weeks ago. I don't know the gentleman on the show (David?) but I do have friends who do.
  14. Oh my goodness! So many things I loved about this episode. -Michael still wearing a bowtie with his sweats when he got "fat." -All the various bad place scenarios, especially the bees, the giant pig, and the clam chowder fountain (I'm with Eleanor on this) -Chidi immediately telling Eleanor he loved her too. I loved that.
  15. I thought Amy's outfit this week looked like the drape they put over you when you get your hair cut.
  16. I find something about Chantel've face really off-putting.
  17. SSI is need-based disability income. You don't have to be disabled from birth, you just have to be determined disabled and you have to have not paid enough into Social Security to qualify for SSD. SSD is disability income based on the amount of money you paid into Social Security. So, if he never worked or didn't work very much or worked but was paid under the table, he may not have earned enough to be eligible for SSD, but he is still disabled, so he can get SSI.
  18. You're correct. Joey wouldn't necessarily lose his SSI, but his receipt will be affected by Laura's income. If he is receiving SSD, that is based on what he earned when he was working, and it wouldn't be affected by Laura's income.
  19. Amen! Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone?
  20. I could tell Tony was black when they were talking to him on the phone. There was so much lying, I'm skeptical that they will work out, but I really want them to. They both seem nice.
  21. I can't believe he called the police on Princess! He's just a terrible person.
  22. I am just watching now. I wish Dr. Paradise was my therapist. I like his cute little face. He barely hit the ground off the golf cart. Re: doctor shopping - here in Ohio, people on Medicaid (I'm assuming that's the situation here) who are suspected of doctor shopping are placed on a program where they have to choose one doctor, one pharmacy, and one hospital. Those are the only facilities that are covered by Medicaid, and most doctors won't see you without some kind of insurance. It helps some, although addicts are crafty.
  23. It was fried rice, though. You know frying removes all the carbs.
  24. "Now is really not the best time for me to leave my family." Yeah, what are they going to do without him?
  25. So, the yellow things on his legs were sores? I thought maybe they were some kind of fungus. My 15-year-old son and I spent the entired episode yelling, "ma legs!" Save us two seats on the bus to hell. What she needs is some sort of a gag keep him quiet.
