I think if the woman wanted social distancing she’d also be wearing a mask. -

Larry and Jeff definitely think older women will give them worms. What was the thing about brine? What does brine smell like? I thought it was just salt water? -
How did this get renewed? HOW???!!!

I am tired of the way this show treats the fat characters. Now that the writing is so much weaker it’s really noticeable and disappointing and cheap.

I thought the routine of chasing the deer and aiming his rifle at it but then never pulling the trigger was either Dexter testing himself daily (are you still a killer?) OR he was “edging” but instead of withholding a sexual orgasm he withholds killing which he seems to find orgasmic.
-
I hold Dexter partly responsible for the death of the cgi deer. Deb’s presence really annoys me already and I’m deeply bummed about Harrison being in the show at all and I’m already pretty sure I can guess what’s going to happen with him.

This is the thing. Remembering past seasons yes Jeff has always been a lost soul and a cheater but things are really dark now. The dynamic of shrieking harpy wife and the husband being all don’t upset Susie always felt retro to me but now it’s really off tone. Larry used to at least judge Jeff before now nothing he has zero opinion. -

*WILD APPLAUSE* Yes to everything you said so perfectly. Each season he gets meaner and less likable. The misogyny is really obscuring any potential for humor. Also, I’m not buying most of the premises. No way would he give in to blackmail in the previous ep and no way would the power dynamic at Netflix be as portrayed here. If he’s desperate enough to borrow a dog in order to woo that actor, then why start telling the dog to shut up in front of the dog lover. He knows that is a huge mistake. He just keeps being horrible to people like he either can’t help himself or hen feels bizarrely entitled to and it’s always a shock to him when they bite back. -

Frankly even if the dental hygienist is lying to get more money out of Jeff, I don’t care. That’s his lying, cheating, overpaid, married man tax. -
I find that Sonya acts more like Ambrose’s nurse/caretaker/mom than his girlfriend.

Her autopsy report states that she was 65” and 115 lbs at time if death
-
Apparently she was 5’3” and 115 lbs at time of death. Certainly not anorexic so maybe fluid buildup? Idk

It annoyed me how security cameras were supposedly “everywhere” except when it was inconvenient for some other plot points. I couldn’t even believe the librarian didn’t have both an outside and inside camera given all that was going in in her life, or frankly “just because”. Who carved the chicken? Wasn’t the wolfsbane salve all over the carving knife? About the wolfsbane salve. First of all I found it ridiculous that Joe photographed everything in her garden in order to look up. I know they’re supposed to be all suspicious of each other but I found that to be too much? Also, pretty sure to make a jar of potent salve that size it would take a shit ton of the starring raw ingredient, not the small amount she was growing. Then you’d have to wait until it’s ready to harvest and then you have to use distillery methods with appropriate equipment or make a tincture which would take months. So how the hell did she make a big potent jar so inconspicuously and quickly?! I know she can presumably whip up two dozen amazing thematically correct cupcakes in five minutes but come on! There were so many instances where it reminded me of Wile E. Coyote conveniently acquring some ACME product.

I keep thinking how Ambrose seems to think he’s in a different show from everyone around him. The constant over the top eye action. Is he hearing voices? Is he disassociating? Is he possessed? I’m finding it distractingly bizarre. I like Bill Pullman just fine, usually. Definitely hanging in though, I want to see where this goes and what actually happened to Percy but I’m fully ready to be disappointed like I have been the last three times.

Where is this taking place? Maybe it said early on and I missed it. I think the previous season was in upstate ny?

If Dawn continued the conversation with Maddy after Nick had decided to ghost her, wouldn’t he continue to get message notifications on his phone from the app he decided to delete and thus open and read all the new “Dawn pretending to be him” bogus messages? and how could Dawn possibly continue with her catfishing as Nick since she doesn’t know the password to his account? Sure she has the password to his phone but that’s different than the password to his Smittten account. (If the account was friendship only on an app called smitten then the users want to use an app to cheat but stay in denial about it).

I really can’t stand Carmel. She’s been stressing me out from her very first scene and it’s just getting worse. I immediately thought she was someone I would go out of my way to avoid. I’m only sticking around for Frances because I love Melissa McCarthy. The show has failed to make me care about the plot or anyone else.

I’m afraid that with all the messed up stuff Nicole Kidman has done to her face, these are the only roles she’ll be ok in. I don’t understand why anyone would sign up for something like this let alone stay, especially after they found out on day one that it’s not at all what they thought they were in for. Obviously shit’s just going to get more and more disturbing and I will continue to wonder why they go along with any of it as my empathy for any of them dissolves into contempt .

The way her phone call to her mom went, I got the impression that Rachel has absolutely nobody to rely on in her life. So no talking to Belinda wasn’t the right move for several reasons but it was very telling.
-
The way Shane talked about his “badass travel agent” filled me with disgust and loathing that will be with me for a while.
-
I felt the most interest throughout for Quinn and Belinda and I will be thinking about their stories for a long time. Quinn found both purpose and a community. I think he could very well stay and be just fine. I thought it was all well and good to say that Belinda should have known better but all I saw was how she was basically never given a chance to say no to Tanya’s initial pushy demands. I really believe that it would have taken drastic steps for her to assert her boundaries and say no. Tanya also kept coming at her with the whole “I’m serious about this “ over and over. That combined with the conversation with her son got her to dare to believe. That led to her giving it a try. I really found her story from beginning to end devastating. No she wasn’t murdered or even fired but I found it really brutal. Paula finally learned who she actually was vs who she wanted to believe she was which is pretty much a college age experience. ETA: Tanyas final speech to Belinda showed how she knew exact who she is and that she was fully aware of what she was doing to her and why AND that she would of course get away with it. She was abusing her wealth and status while using what she knew would work as the “carrot”.

Paula oozes contempt for the Mossbachers 24/7.

I don’t know if it’s sloppy writing or if Paula is really stupid but she’s not going to alert Kai that the robbery she set up for him is about to be interrupted?! Forget texting him call while running to the hotel! Then the bracelets. I could swear that last week they were 75k total. Am I wrong? I’m guessing they’re supposed to be Cartier. So yeah not exactly under the radar when trying to sell them. And just because they cost 75k does not at all mean they’re “worth” 75k. I’m horrified watching the Tanya Belinda situation for the exact same reason as @chocolatine. It’s played pitch perfect with the dynamics too. I get an uncomfortable thrill out of watching it. I hope Quinn stays. While I also hope to watch Rachel flee, I do not understand how the realization she made a huge mistake is hitting her so enormously, she has spent a lot of time around these monsters already how is it just dawning on her now? Someone up thread guessed it was the not wanting to be a trophy wife. Good call, I think. ETA it was so ridiculous for Paula to tell Kai that he could use the money from the stolen declining-in-value-by-the-second bracelets to get land back(!!!) Also I kind of take back my thoughts about Rachel. She’s young she fell in love she got married fast. It happens. Therefore Shane and his mom may very well have been on their best behavior and their awfulness was gradually revealed to her. After all she is still getting to know them. “Marry in haste, repent at leisure .” Also also lots of people change after they’re married. The actual “honeymoon phase” is the first three months.

This is my big hope.

Shane did seem angry, like he lost at something big.
