Can they please get a well fitted harness and sturdy leash for Pumpkin already?! My blood pressure!

Is Raikes a coke dealer?! How on earth is he hanging with that crowd already? If he turns out to be a good guy then Fellowes is an even more tone dead writer than I think he is. I think there’s too many characters and storylines going on and frankly I don’t think Fellowes is all that capable of handling them. Last night during the maid’s sad story I actually worried I had compassion fatigue and couldn’t take one more character I had to know about. I have plenty already. I really wish Peggy and her family friends, neighbors and fellow writers etc had their own show with white people being more background characters. I think she only serves to tell us who’s racist or not in this show. The show can’t accommodate the amount of story she deserves. Back then they definitely had calling hours but it doesn’t matter because stupid Marion knew she was barging in on Peggy’s mom’s birthday lunch! Even if I was stupid enough to barge in and also bring a giant bag stuffed with hand me downs (pretty sure I’d opt for food instead) I wouldn’t open that bag on pain of death! I’d be all oh what this yeah latest from Paris they call it “Le Tote” and I’d pose with it while inching towards the door. I don’t really trust Fellowes’ writing enough so I think we’re supposed to see Marion as this breath of fresh air woke tornado. I do believe she cares for Peggy deeply but she seems to think that racism, like all the old money vs new money crap is ridiculous so let’s just act like it’s something we can just ignore. Same attitude with her basically befriending Mrs. C. Russell should have tossed Turner out or had Bertha do it (tell her he caught Turner stealing or whatever) but I get why he didn’t. He must have women throwing moves on him all the time and thinks it’s no big deal.

You know I keep wondering if he knows something. He sure relocated to NYC in a flash.
-
Right? He knows what the deal is. She’s not even supposed to go out alone. They let us see Peggy’s shocked expression when he closed his office door.
-
I keep thinking about how the lawyer has demonstrated a total lack of care about Marian’s reputation. Closing his office door, suggesting they meet up at the hotel. Thoughts?
-
I have good and bad dread. Bad dread: Marion marries the lawyer, Gladys marries Oscar, the maid keeps getting harassed by the butler (and we’re supposed to see it as cute young love). Good dread: the whole maid and the Russels situation. It’s stressful and I love it!
-
Absolutely! A rake and an adventurer!
-
Yes! I keep thinking about this. I really dread these two storylines getting the romantic true love treatment. I know this is set in a different time but I can’t help see the lawyer as a stalker and the maid is a victim of workplace harassment. Also what is the deal with Marion’s obnoxious behavior? Am I supposed to be impressed with her? Am I supposed to think of her as the hero of this show? Forget it. So far the only characters I like are Peggy, Ada, Agnes, the two Russell children, the two non racist downstairs staff members and the violently shunned Sylvia Chamberlain.

Louisa Jacobson is so terrible, she’s a mumbling blur on my screen in all her scenes. Really a weak point in this show. I really don’t know what the best move for Peggy should be. I’d say take the money and then really put all your energy into getting published elsewhere without all the lies BUT that wouldn’t work if she used her real name in all the places.

I didn’t know what to make of him listening in! Interesting theory!
-
I dislike all three of them but I’m watching their story with more stress and curiosity than all the others. I can’t figure out Georges subtle expressions when talking to her. She’s really aggressive with her passes and I can’t tell if he’s amused but has zero intentions of of taking her up on it or absolutely can’t wait to. If he does, Bertha is sure to find out and that will be terrifying.
-
I totally agree with you.
-
Yes to every word! I saw it coming with Morris and it made me feel very sad. What was the deal with Bertha’s Aggressive Nipples Nightgown? At first I thought it was a design with bizarrely yet strategically places buttons lol. The scheming maid is making me nervous! I really wish I could find spoilers for this show!

Rue is a violent, abusive manipulative addict deep in her addiction. At this point she’s willing to do and say almost anything to get people to let her be so she can get high. I don’t buy her “I miss my dad” excuse one bit. She’s an addict, she’s got the bug and addicts lie and steal. Laurie is terrifying. She’s the only reason I am not fast forwarding through the Rue scenes at this point . Can’t stand the character or actress (maybe-I’ve never seen her in anything else).

Fashion porn? More like fashion snuff. Miranda’s hair and makeup look like they were done by a mortician’s intern. Waxy skin, badly drawn eyebrows and her too pale for her foundation appears to be all over her lips and teeth. Norman Bates wants his wig back btw. No way do I see a narcissist hipster boor like Che taking up with her. Che would date a head to toe tattooed, rainbow haired, everything pierced with horn implants on head type.

I love hate watching and I love complaining (in general). I also have way less to say about something I enjoy. 🤷♀️ I totally agree about the SO getting to make the decisions and Big would have let his final wishes be known. Also it really didn’t look like Carrie was close with his relatives she even made some comment about how “If you knew me better you’d know I have a thing for shoes”.
-
How did a grown man like Big end up what looked like a small cup of ashes? Miranda was unkind and impatient with Steve all season. She couldn’t even be bothered to kindly help him find his hearing aid and was so pissed that dumping him was now going to take longer. All she could think about was resuming her fingerbang rom com. The writers turned him into Mr. Magoo.

Cigarettes were the real stars of this shit show.

I can’t wrap my mind around the idea that Camille didn’t know. How would a person not know some like this especially since he was doing this in their own home at times and also hearing persistent rumors. I watched all four episodes on Showtime are there more to come?
-
Nope I thought so too and that the dad was the alcoholic. I felt like Sam was coming through way more like Bridget Everett this week right down to her stage act! I like it! I think each episode is too short. It always feels unfinished to me. Anyone else? I’m bummed out that I’ll never see the hot neighbor again. BUT:
-
I hope to see much more of the hot neighbor. He’d be great for Sam plus her shitty sister and her shitty friend would die of envy.
-
I’m just not getting any sexual chemistry between Jules and Rue. I think Jules and Elliot are way better suited for each other. There’s definitely a spark. Rue loves drugs.
-
I can totally see myself fast forwarding through any Rue and Jules stuff in the near future.
-
No complaints from me so far, really looking forward to next week! This show is so stressful I really missed it!
-
Leave it alone, Angela! I still think Dexter is a catch lol. So you can just gift someone a gun like that? In upstate NY? I couldn’t stop thinking about that for the rest of the episode.
