Imo they aged up Brady way too much. He was born 5 months before Abby. It's just odd that he's now in some kind of love square with her mother. Why is Gabi freaking out about a maybe kiss? She was kissing Chad while he was married, then proceeds to tell Abby when she leaves him that they did nothing wrong. Greg Vaughan needs to chill with the whispering.

I shake my head daily at this horrific love square. Chad tells Abby she's moving too fast, yet he's at her wedding with his girlfriend. Then he goes on to tell Gabi, I guess it's over. I mean why would Gabi sit there and listen to him tell her he wasn't sure if it was over with Abby before he started dating her?? He's said something like this two or three time lately. Leave him and get your self respect Gabi, don't let it linger for months upon months like Abby did. This is the exact reason Abby left him, because he couldn't get over Gabi! It's like they've reversed the entire triangle since the island. Then Abby, why is she marrying Dario? She had three conversations with him yet she's acting like he's been her bestie for years. Today it was like she was marrying him to spite Chad who was basically daring her to do it like a little kid, just idiotic both of them. There aren't even words for Dario. He's Ben-lite. I hate Dena Higley for screwing up not only a couple I loved in Chad and Abby, but also completely ruining a character I really liked in Gabi. I'd add Dario but I've never had use for that character.

Well we know the murderer isn't JJ cause he gets arrested first. I've seen rumors that Sonny gets arrested at some point as well so he's out. Days imo is always terrible at these murders, at least recently, it's usually the most obvious person. So I go with Dario.

Were Freddie Smith and Vincent Irizarry super sweaty today or was it just me? This was even before their little tussle. I didn't really notice it on anyone else. Lani and Eli are ok, but it's rare for two newbies like that to get together. Unless it's new teens they bring in. I think this is all still Dena though so who knows what Ron will do.

I think another thing is that they totally rushed it. A few weeks of her dressing him and he was already looking googly eyed and depressed when Gabi was with JJ. If they had played that as being sad and missing Abby maybe that would have worked, but it wasn't at all. It was already playing like he was in love with Gabi. Then they brought Abby back probably too soon and they knew realistically he would never be torn that quick, so they started to make up these weird things like the baseball, and the fact that Gabi knew Chad liked sappy movies. We never saw that, we did see Chabby 1.0 go on a movie date and comment on the fact that Abby had liked action movies. Chad and Abby had all these little small character moments when played by Kate and Casey, they were boring but I think that helped a bit with their foundation later on.

I'm not sure marrying himself to one couple is strictly a BF thing though. It's a Days thing. It's what they've always done. Days is the couples soap A couple reaches a certain peak of popularity and yeah they have interlopers, but they always end up back with the same person. Bope had Billie and Aiden. Jarlena had Roman and Kristen. JnJ had Frankie and Daniel. Carrie and Austin had Mike and Sami. Shelle had Mimi and Philip, but they always end up back together. Chad and Abby, and Will and Sonny, imo are the newest versions of this. I'm not saying it's the right way to do things, but it's what I expect when I watch Days.

Because Game 5 of the NBA Finals was scheduled for 9pm Monday on ABC. If the Warriors had won the last game there would have been no need for a game 5, but they lost so we go another game. It was stupid to schedule any of the games on a night with a brand new show imo, but they obviously don't care about this show. Two episodes in and they skip an episode. Such a shame.

Well according to the promo and Frank Grillo.... I know. I like Matt Lauria, but his character has always been my least liked on this show for some reason.

Are they skipping a week for basketball? If so, bummer.

Not since Dena has been writing she hasn't though. I just don't know what world that JJ would just be ok with Gabi and Chad 2 seconds after he and Abby split and less than a year since he dated her himself. Then there's Eli, who lit into Abby for warning him about Gabi being into Chad, just all fine with them making out on the island. It's the show going out of it's way to make sure Chad and Gabi look good in the end. No one opposes them except Andre of all people. Abby is pushing them together, what with their baseball past and terrific connection how can we not resist their love?

Chad wasn't even a twinkle in this show's eye when Peter was around. Abby was only like 4 or something when he was on the show. Gabi is officially the new Melanie. The bestest ever and all the men think she's fabulous.

I'm having a hard time separating Escalus from that awful character he played on Pretty Little Liars (yes I used to watch that mess too). Me either. It's very weird.

Here we may be, but other places not so much. It just depends on where you go. Although I will say in general the show right now seems pretty hated wherever you go. I mean the whole show stinks. Abigail has to be naive or the story wouldn't work. It's also dumb that she's acting like she and Dario are BFF when she barely knows him. You'd think someone who was dating a serial killer would be more wary of any man after that. Christopher Sean is such a good sport. I honestly feel like this show has had no use for him from day one. They do absolutely nothing with him that's not ridiculous. Has he ever had an actual story? He deserves better than this show.

I totally agree, everyone has opinions, and no one is right or wrong. I don't have a problem with Camila's acting, I just hate the pairing, and find the cuteness overly forced. It's like their trying too hard to make the pairing work. How many times has Gabi sprained the same ankle? How many times have Chabi been in danger together? A good pairing doesn't need all that. Chabi talk about their past, but it's never their real past. So far I don't think Marci has been given a chance to show if Chabby 3.0 work, from the time she's been on they've had Chad thinking and getting trapped and throwing viles at Gabi, with Kate's version they had Chad totally devoted and chasing serial killers for her. That's hard for a recast to come in and have to play, and even when Kate played Abby, no one much talked about Chabby until Chad professed his love for her after Jordan left. As far as Marci's acting, I like her, I think she's just very understated and not over the top, which is what we get used to a lot on the soaps. Her calm, still demeanor is kind of a contrast to the jittery shouting we sometimes see.

How cute that Lashana Lynch (Rosaline) was on twitter asking people what shipper meant. Oh to not be obsessed with tv. I wonder what that's like? lol.

As much as you love them kitmerlot is probably as equal to how much I loathe them. I just find them so fake, just everything about them. Today Eli was propping them, really? Just two weeks ago he told Abby she was an idiot for propping them and that he was gonna win over Gabi. Now Gabi and Chad are perfect for one another and he never had a chance. I mean what?? Every interaction Chabi have, or is about them is pure plot. They've been a thing for 8 months and absolutely NOTHING has happened except getting trapped together over and over and continuously telling one another their "just friends". OMG just do it already. The sad thing is I think a triangle could have worked if they had built it on Chabi not being the best of friends and bonding over Abby's death and disappearance and finally becoming good friends again after that whole stalker fiasco, but instead we got this plot filled mess.

I guess I'll be the lone weirdo. I liked it. I love me some mindless romantic cheese. Already shipping Rosaline and Benvolio. I loved the arranged marriage trope on my soaps.

Certainly onscreen we've seen Gabi interested in Chad. Never have we seen the opposite. Maybe during the one date they went on with old Gabi, but even then most of Chad's scenes were centered on Mia and he even went on that date because he couldn't go with Mia. She was with Will, so he couldn't have her so he tried to move on. As a fan of Abby, yeah I remember. I agree that Chabby 2.0 was played way bigger, but only after fans started responding to the pairing. That version of Chabby really only got big about 6 months or so after Billy started. At first they were played just as Chabby 1.0, with very little interesting writing. There for awhile some even thought they were going full on with Chad/Jordan. Once they got rid of Jordan and had Chad pining after Abby fans responded, and Chabby 2.0 took off. What's makes that different to Chabi is that they didn't have to completely make up things like baseball and the fact that Chabi were ever that close, because they weren't, Camila rarely had scenes with Casey outside the stalker story. Yeah Chabby 1.0 weren't great love, but at that time they were young twenties, they moved on, dated other people, and then were brought back together, like sometimes happens in real life, we saw all that.

I think the big difference is that even though original Chabby weren't a huge romance, they did share significant screen time. We saw them together. Their just making up backstory for Chabi. I mean why didn't they use the fact that they do have some history a bit with original Gabi, and then the whole stalker thing with Camila. They could have had it as two used to be friends turned enemies healed old wounds and fell in love. Instead apparently they were besties in high school and baseball fans for life, all made up things we know weren't true. It's silly to make up stuff when you had actual things to work with. Which is what I think Billy meant. The only foundation Chabi have now is fake, because they didn't bother to use real history. When have they ever tried to play Chad and Gabi as a romance outside of a hot minute when she was introduced? Even after Mia left the show was all in on Will/Gabi, ethey never even tried to play that as a triangle. Chad was busy finding out his mom slept with Stefano. Casey Deidrick's most significant romance was with Abby. He wasn't ever really with Mia, and that actress left after a year. THe thing with Melanie was 9 months. I can see where some would see her as his most significant though. It was rushed but they played it like he loved her more than anything until she left and a month later he was onto Abby again. All together Abby and Chad were linked for two years during Casey's tenure, and the entire time during Billy's.

SOD had an interview with Kelley Menighan this week. I guess she got nominated for an Emmy for some kind of online soap. Anyway in it she confirms that she and Jon Hensley have been split (now divorced) since 2013. They both live in Chicago. She works in her family business, but is still thinking about acting more in the future.

I like both Kate and Marci, but I totally understand what your saying DisneyBoy. Most of the times with recasts you just have to go with the flow I think. Even if they had brought Kate's sister on as Abby it would be different, everyone brings a different vibe and personality. I mean, could you see Billy Flynn's version of Chad being a model like Casey's was? Or wearing skinny jeans? lol. I'm bitter that I wanted Sonny back after he left and now that he's back I want him gone again. I don't know what happened but Freddie Smith lost all the charm he had during his original run.

That actress is Jennifer Landon, daughter of the late Michael Landon. Or as I know him, Pa Ingalls. Jennifer won 3 consecutive younger actress Emmy Awards from 2006-2008 while on As the World Turns. I liked her on that show in the beginning, really refreshing, but after that the writers fell in love with her and she took over half the show. I still think she's an ok actress, I'm not sure anyone could make a character like Hilary work, she's straight up awful.

He basically just tells it like it is, that they didn't give enough time to the Chabi relationship, they spent more time creating fake memories than worrying about building them up to be an actual couple. You can't just tell the audience something, you have to show them. They have people telling us about Chabi's bond (including Abby today) and having baseball memories, but we haven't seen much of any real bonding in actual time.

Chad came to town in May 2009, he had a little triangle with Will and Mia, then he found out Mia had his baby. I think he and Mia had went to Salem West or something ridiculous but then he got shipped to military school and Mia moved to regular Salem. Gabi showed up in November 2009. Chad was stuck on Mia but she was with Will, he invited Gabi to the Christmas dance and they had a cute little dance on the pier (real history that could have been used!), after that though the teens weren't on much and I don't think Chad and Gabi shared any solo scenes after that. Camila came on as a recast in October 2010 and Gabi had moved on to Will at that point while Chad moped around town and found out he was a Dimera. Abby came back to town in March 2011 and met Chad on her second episode I think. The only other story Chad had with Gabi was the stalker thing and then the aftermath which eventually led to him outing Will as her babydaddy during her wedding to Nick. Gabi hadn't shared a scene with Billy's Chad until this past September. As for today, I'm happy Abby broke it off and I need her to go get her own life. I can't with Kate and Andre. Puke. I don't think they could have come up with a worse story for Nicole. Just insulting on every level.
