  1. I noticed the cgi on Richie and Ben big time. Richie looked like a cartoon his eyes were so big. Ben's head was huge. The rest looked about the same but I can tell they also used something to make the voices higher, especially Eddie. I liked the movie overall. I thought all the adults were very good. Some parts could have been cut, like the beginning, even though I know it was in the book. I also thought the mirror scene with Bill and the kid could have been completely cut out. That kid popping up everywhere seemed kinda hokey, and we already knew how guilty Bill felt.
  2. Everyone on this show is a hypocrite and have done some awful things, especially if they've been on longer than a minute. I think it just depends on personal taste on who you blame.
  3. I think the problem with Shelle at the time, much like Chabby when they left was they had been played so heavily for so long people were just sick of them. I remember Martha saying in SOD that she was very aware of the audience getting tired of seeing Shelle on that island back in 2007. They needed a break. I think the main reason they haven't come back for very long is that most in charge still have a preference for Kirsten and Jason. That and like Carrie and Austin every time they bring them back they play the same old story.
  4. Chad also wanted Mia and settled for Gabi and was completely blind to her crush on him during his time with Melanie. So technically Gabi was Chad's fourth choice as well. The thing about the Gabi character is they've always used her as a fill in when the male characters other options have left or are otherwise occupied. The Stefan/Gabi direction should have been where this was headed all along. Instead I think it was Plan B after Ron's grand plans for an epic Gabby/Stefan romance was shouted down.
  5. My problem is not that Jon thinks Dany has gone too far and needs to be taken out if she indeed goes insane, my problem is the lead up to it was practically non existent. This season started and suddenly Dany was portrayed as straight up crazy. I remember telling my friend that it was like she had a huge neon sign on her forehead that said evil in 8x01. We've seen absolutely nothing in prior seasons absent burning the Tarly's the would lead up to this imo. People love Brienne and Jaime because it was built up through seasons. This Jon/Dany thing and now crazy Dany was like a last minute thing they rushed through just to get to because the plot demanded it. It's hugely unsatisfying.
  6. I lurk here mostly, but I had to come out of lurkdom to say I so agree with this, and everyone else. We spent all those seasons rooting for Dany and seeing her grow, this is a huge bummer. I think I would have been fine with her dying even if I was sad, but not like this. It would even be easier if we had see her gradually go mad for the last 3 seasons or so, but this feels out of nowhere and very plot based. It's like a bad soap opera. I love this show but I think this whole Dany thing will take it out of my top ten. It just sucks. Oh and I also agree on Bronn, I've never liked him, he's way too dudebro.
  7. I don't think she's thinking about that so much as him playing daddy to a girl that already has two daddies and leaving his own son to go live somewhere else. He also had no problem when he thought Thomas was Ben's son. I guess his hatred of Stefan is just too much for him to overcome his man pain.
  8. You have a great memory, lol. I just knew his reasons for killing Paige were super vague, and then I knew in mid conversation at the apartment it dawned on Will that Ben was the killer. The whole reasoning for the killings was half assed writing I thought. They obviously just wanted to get rid of Serena and Paige because the characters weren't working. The recast Will was a bust and they needed a splashy kill to make their story better. Then they made Ben the killer because, and I know this is not the case now, but he wasn't working and they had tried with him for almost two years at that point. So they came up with shoddy reasons for the killings, but even so, they were shown to be calculating if not well thought out, so they can't ignore it now.
  9. He saw a drunk and sad Chad kissing Serena at TBD or whatever it's called now and killed her to frame Chad and get him away from Abby. He had put a tracking device on Abby's phone and knew she had been seeing Chad. I can't even remember why he killed Paige but I think she may have overheard something, or maybe saw something the night he killed Serena? It wasn't shown onscreen I think we may have just been told afterward. He killed Will because he realized as they were talking one day that Will had figured out he was the killer. He killed the midwife just, well, because, I guess.
  10. She did? She knew she was going around calling herself Gabby and Laura and whatever else? Look I get she's a loon, but she didn't know what she was doing. I loathed and hated the DID story with everything in me.........I'd rather she clocked Andre on purpose if it would have spared me from watching the alters. Ben would finish killing someone and then come home and ask Abby why no one had caught Chad yet, because that's what he wanted, that was his whole purpose for starting to kill people. I don't think Abby is cured, that's the problem with this whole stupid story, it was used for no reason other that to have Abby cheat and create a WTD. They've never addressed her illness, even when she came back from the so-called dead. Two seconds with Laura and Chad is already ready to have a baby with a woman who was thinking she was three different people. It angers me as a fan that her illness is used as a plot point and Ben gets this whole arc about mental illness.
  11. I agree with this. Ben murdered Serena to set Chad up, he may have been crazy, but he knew what he was doing. Every person he killed after he did so to cover his tracks. He chased Paige down, cornered her, and strangled her up close and personal. Strangling is not like just shooting someone with a gun, it takes time, he stood over her and waited until the life in her was gone. Same thing with Will, he cornered and squeezed the life outta him and if it weren't for Rolf he'd still be dead. I get it's a soap, and even as an Abby fan I realize she should probably be in an institution, but she didn't murder Andre on purpose, he came at her and she grabbed something and hit him. I think the biggest problem I have is Ben has been popping in and out of the show since he left, and he didn't leave that long ago. Those murders started 3 years ago next month....it's just too soon for me anyway, to hand wave all the brutal things he did. Besides the murders, he choked out Marlena, held a gun to Abby while she gave birth, and tried to set Chad and Abby on fire. I don't enjoy them making Hope look like the bad guy for not wanting her daughter around a serial killer.
  12. So did he though, and yet he married her. Twice. I know the first time she hadn't went full crazy, but she was well on her way and he knew she was screwed up. I get it's human to not want to deal with it, but I still don't feel sorry for him. He wanted another baby with her crazy ass, so he obviously wanted to be stuck with her. He took the vows, again, twice. I'm tired of his whiny man pain every time something goes wrong. I guess he forgets the time he faked a brain tumor, or called Abby whore to "protect" her from his daddy. Or how about when she helped him hide while accused of murder. Or figured out that he was freaking brainwashed. As a Chabby fan I'm just bored of these stories that have outside people coming in to wreck the marriage. As I'm sure Gabi and even Ben fans are tired of them being involved with Chabby as well. These two are both screwed up, their internal issues should be enough at this point in their story. I'm not here for months of them being morons so Gabi can further her scheme, or whatever she's doing. I have no doubt at some point Stefan will catch on though.
  13. I think Ron is all in on Ben/Ciara, he pimps them daily on twitter, plus he's already put more thought into those two as a pair than he has any other pairing since he got on the show. He barely even writes for Tripp. I don't care for them, I can't get past how recent the murders were, but I can see why people do. Their trope is as old as time, and people think their pretty. Bad guy who is redeemed by the love of an innocent young rape victim. It's like a rehash of Jack and Jennifer except Jack wasn't a serial killer but a rapist instead. People eat that up. The couples on this show have sucked and been thrown together for very little reason for three or four years now, this is the first time since maybe Ericole or Chabby 2.0 that they've gone a more traditional route. That being said Ron sucks at romance and I can see him overexposing them to the point where people will start getting annoyed (kinda like Chabby, my former faves). Until then though, I'd say enjoy!
  14. The rules for getting an ornament has gotten lax over the years. They give them out like candy these days. I mean Melanie has one for goodness sakes. Gabi has been gifted TWO ornaments. One for being involved with Nick, and then later on JJ gifted her with one when they were dating, or whatever they were doing. I suppose maybe she gets to keep it/them because she's Ari's mom? Ben would get one because Ciara is a Horton and he's gonna be her boyfriend, of this I have no doubt. Ron seems to like writing for Ben, he has zero interest in Tripp.
  15. I remember first watching about Amy Bradley way back on Unsolved Mysteries. I've seen a lot of different shows on her. I used to buy into maybe someone did take her, but I do agree now that she fell overboard. She didn't have her shoes on and only her lighter and cigarettes were missing. Maybe she was smoking while leaning over the railing? If she had left the room wouldn't one of her three family members have heard the door? Either way I always feel sorry for her family, her poor mom always breaks my heart.
  16. This is a pretty old soap trope that is used often for "meant to be" couples. Why they decided to write this in today after they've written him so clueless before now is anyone's guess. Probably because if they show him knowing and sensing too much the story couldn't drag on. I will also say that thinking the psychic connection is squeeworthy or stupid, usually depends on whether you like the couple or not.
  17. Billy Flynn spent most of last year in one of the worst triangles I've ever seen in soap. Those baseball flashbacks were awful. I don't think he had much to pull from. I kind of like Reign, but I'll never understand, beyond looks, how Rome gets any acting work. Wooden plank he is.
  18. Yeah. Maybe it was having kids that made her lose interest, but to me it seemed to fade even before that. I mention Ginny mostly because in the beginning she seemed like the most fangirly about the show out of all the cast. She was on twitter during almost every episode. Giving interviews, smiling, she just seemed to love it. Then she just kinda....disappeared. Jen, seemed to have the same attitude throughout, kinda just chill. Lana started out more low profile, then got into the twitter and then started engaging fans more, later on. Lana had been on a lot of shows prior to that point that only lasted one season, she was probably cautious at first. Then once the show was a hit it's like she embraced it and pimped it all the way to the end.
  19. Ginny was on a late night talk show promoting something else right before Once got picked up that first season. I'll never forget how excited she was talking about how she did this pilot and she was lighting candles and praying it got picked up. She was sooo excited those first few years. I quit watching around season 4, but it seems like as the seasons wore on, she lost whatever enthusiasm she once had. She hardly ever gave interviews after awhile, when in those first few years she was all over the place. I partly blame the writing for completely backburnering Snow. Also does anyone else remember Josh and Jamie Dornan tweeting each other silly and sarcastic stuff very early on. They'd go back and forth and it was really fun. Ahh, memories.
  20. Just now heard this show had been cancelled. I think I've only posted here like twice, but I visited every now and then to see others thoughts. I loved the first three seasons, then around season four I quit watching live and started watching a few days later, before I knew it I had five or six episodes backlogged and had no desire to watch. The last episode I saw was when Emma saw Elizabeth Mitchell on that videotape. I've always felt this show could have been better than it was. The lack of family scenes after Emma found out who she was always bothered me. So much plot over character. Still a great show (through season 3 at least) that could have been a lot better.
  21. She already has been. I think the problem was Higley tried to stick her with and make an epic romance with the wrong one. Chad already had a pairing that worked. JJ/Gabi were just sitting there waiting for an actual story to be told for them, yet she had him cheat and then Gabi dropped him like a hot potato for Chad. Eli/Gabi was used as angst for Chad/Gabi, then again had her drop him like a hot potato for Chad. Now Ron has to start from scratch. Both JJ and Eli seem to be all into Lani now, but I assume maybe Gabi will be worked back in there somehow. I used to really like Eric/Nicole, but knowing she's going and having the worthless Brady in the story is dragging it down for me. I'm not sure I care anymore.
  22. When he told her he used her for sex after their romp in the Dimera garden. Of course he was just doing that because Stefano wanted to use Abby to get that money at the time. Also some may say Abby had it coming because she was cheating on Ben, but he did indeed hurt her then. The brainwashing when she showed up and he told her he lied and didn't want to be with her, but that wasn't really his fault. She was still devastated. I would add in the brain tumor lie, but they were kind of playing it that she had just settled for him at that point.
  23. I actually think he said Abby. I think the word take before it made it sound like Gabi. I say this as a Chad and Abby fan, lol. People called her Abby from birth, but when Kate Mansi came on the Gabi character had come on a few years before, when Abby was off canvas. I guess the writers didn't want rhyming names so they had everyone call her Abigail from then on. Billy will call her Abby a lot, occasionally JJ or Jennifer, but I think they use Abigail in scripts because it lessens the confusion like today, maybe he ad-libbed Abby instead of Abigail? She's still always Abby to me though. I think they were finally getting to the root of Chad's behavior today, so that made me happy. It was ridiculous that they had him forgive her right when she came back. He should have been angry, but I guess they wanted him to take Abby back so he could pine for Gabi and create a triangle. It only made all three of them end up looking stupid. I really hope Ron can repair Chad, and to a lesser extent Abby and Gabi. Even as a Chabby fan I've always liked Gabi, she needs a romance of her own. I hate that they treated JJ/Gabi as such an after thought during their entire romance. If written right that could have been really good.
  24. Exactly. The person in the middle of the triangle almost always fares the worst. Back this time in 2015, when Abby was waffling between Ben and Chad, she was highly annoying. Or how about going way back, when Jennifer basically used Emilio during the triangle with Jack. She even went so far as to almost marry the guy to get Jack to do something. I wonder what the internet would have to say about that had it existed then.
  25. I don't think she has always been a shrew, but imo she has always had a lot of insecurity. That goes back to her and Will, she even went to Abby when Will wouldn't have sex with her, worried something was wrong with her. As we all know know, it wasn't her, lol. She let Nick basically treat Will and Sonny like crap, and not do much of anything about his homophobic ways as to not rock the boat in their relationship. I never felt like Chad was gonna dump Gabi because of JJ, he was gonna dump her because of Abby. Maybe Gabi's feelings for JJ would lead to a mutual parting though. Dena Higley had written it as if Chad and Gabi were always meant to be, they went on one date back in the day. They did not play baseball. They did not have some great bond. Abby "died" and Chad was comforted by Ciara and Belle of all people. Not Gabi, she didn't come into the story until Higley got there. Ron seems to be writing Gabi as catching on, to me at least. I think in the end she'll probably bow out gracefully. To me Chad looks worse than she does. Everything about today was the exact same as a Dena day except Gabi and Abby were reversed. I'm a Chabby fan though so I'm biased.
