I think it would have been just punishment if Sonny made Gladys work at his coffee warehouse for the rest of her life and garnished all her wages to pay back Sasha. The "food illusion" challenge is my least favorite in any baking show. I do not want my dessert to look like a pizza or a hamburger. Having said that, these eliminations are rough. I am optimistic for the season. (Which I haven't felt for a long time.) It has a bit of a "back to basics" feel. Glad they did not give out 3 express passes that the winning team gets to distribute. Good introductions, but not a huge focus on everyone's sob story. Even quite a few older folks in the mix! And no social media celebrities!

The new host seems chill, maybe even a bit bland, but after having to endure a bunch of OTT and "all about me" hosts on various Bake Offs, that is just fine with me! Seems like a nice, capable group. Did anyone else freeze Victor's letter to Charlotte? It was pretty funny, if rather redundant. I will summarize: "Dear Charlotte, your father has been pussy whipped by manipulative Anna and her so-callled charms. Personally, I don't get it. Anyhoo, your father is in danger and you must use any weapon you can against Anna." So Sonny is questioning his life choices cuz he saw Curtis in a wheel chair. I guess Lilly and his unborn child being blown to bits or Michael being shot in the head or Morgan getting a car bomb were all in a day's work. Then Anna tearfully (of course) encourages Sonny when he says he won't give up. Um, Anna, he is a violent mob boss selling knock off shoes. Perhaps he should rethink it!

It would cheaper than buying a big house for Valentin to just hire Liz's mom to brainwash the incident from Charlotte's memory.

Ty and Kat were probably the most deserving based on their overall performance. But I usually find myself rooting for a dark horse type of team. I was kind of feeling like Tyler and Kayleen needed it more. In any case, another pleasant season with challenging legs that put some of the US version's legs to shame. Having said that, so glad The Amazing Race is getting a more prominent place on the US schedule this season ~albeit only because the network is short of programming.

I know they had kids together, but if I found out my partner was abusing our credit cards or bank accounts to the point I had to redo my trust AND I felt I had to tell my family to look at my partner if anything happened to me, I WOULD LEAVE THAT PERSON!!! Looks like next week is the official Season Premier.

Marcus Wareing Tales From a Kitchen Garden. I'm sure the television gigs are much more lucrative and way less stressful, so I don't blame Michel and Marcus for shifting to that. They are both getting a bit older and have fully achieved their restaurant successes. I did enjoy Michel's "5 Star Kitchen: Britain's Next Great Chef" show, but not sure if it will get a second season.
