Twelve of the best tattoo artists on the planet battle it out for the title of Ink Master. First 3 episodes premiered on November 1, 2023 on Paramount+ with following episodes to be released weekly. Good Charlotte vocalist Joel Madden returns as host, and Ryan Ashley and Nikko Hurtado return as judges. Three time champion, DJ Tambe, joins the judging panel replacing Ami James. Glad to have the show back. Seems like some interesting artists. Hate that they are having the judges coach teams of artists. Even if the judges promise to still be fair in who goes home, the show will manipulate it to try have all 3 judges represented in the finale. Plus we are subject to stupid fake rivalry between the judges, when we already suffer enough stupid fake rivalry between the contestants. All it ends up doing is giving the juddges too much focus when I would rather see more tattooing. They should do this like Project Runway and have an unbiased mentor work with the contestants. DJ should have come on as the Ink Master Tim Gunn. Having bitched about all that... I will be watching!

For 20/20, I now come here first to see if the case is compelling enough that I will even bother to watch it, cuz it is a SLOG usually. At best, I FF through many of the stupid talking heads that are just their usual gang they have that rehash and comment on every last detail of the case. So sad Matt Murphy is now one of them.

Were they ever going to catch Jason if he didn't turn himself in? Did Dateline really need to bring Encyclopedia Brown into it?! 😁

Not a fan of it now being Greg and Marcus for critics round, instead of Monica and Marcus. I tolerate him, but one thing this show does not need is more Greg! Marcus' reaction to Laura's spicy broth was hilarious! I can only catch a fraction of what Molly is saying, but I don't mind. She's like an adorable very talented chipmunk squeaking at me. 😁

I did not see that coming until Charlotte started fumbling with her flashlight! Great soap! Hope they don't backpedal it. Maybe this will FINALLY break schmoopy Anna and flaccid Valentin up for good. Speaking of vomitous relationships: Sam: Hey Carly, I just drove all the fooking way back over here even though I just saw you, to check on you. However do you cope with sending the man you love to prison for your crime and being gifted a restaurant? Carly: Well, you know, I am brave, strong and amazing even the face of this incredible suffering and hardship. Sam: You totally are. I just want you to know I am your new best friend and I do not hold you treating me like shit for decades against you. Lawd have mercy if I have to look at that "attempting to express disdain but widely missing the mark" pathetic new Michael face for months on end. 🙈 If they want to do a sympathetic troubled teen story about Adam and not a crazed stalker obsessed with Joss story, they need to dial back his creeping around her door 24/7. I totally expected that after looking at his grade online he would switch over to the video feed from the camera he planted in her room.

When they walked up to Dana to discuss her bake, I had no memory of her even being in the competition! They must not be featuring her as much as the others. I figured that meant she was probably doomed. As pretty as they are, I have no desire to eat a big blob of gelatin with my cake!

Ah, I was rooting for Ryan, but he fumbled on the day. Oh well, let's hope next year John's family is running a spooky petting zoo, so we can have some fun and cuteness mixed with the gore ...like man-eating sheeps and vampire ducklings!

Ah, my friend just emailed me that Tyler Chrisopher has died. 😢 I don't get why Anna now feels she is safe because she moved into Maxie's old apartment? Every other sentence out of her mouth is about someone being "after her." I did enjoy this exchange: Finn: I love you. I've loved you for a very long time. Liz: ... ... ...

I am also thrilled the show (and Monica) are back. I have been rewatching old seasons and just finished season 7, which was Marcus' first. I must say, he was super harsh in his first season... and I I loved it! He seems kinder now, trying to come up with a positive to open with. Maybe he learned that from Monica.

48 Hours did the canal killer case last week, so I will just copy my comment from that forum: "Okay I live in Phoenix, and I do not remember this "zombie hunter" aspect of the killer. Why does our city always look so dumpy in these shows. Anyhoo, glad the judge did not consider an abusive childhood as a free pass to murder." Interesting to see that even the killer in jail wrote to Dateline about how blown out of proportion the "zombie" stuff is. As for the Dangerous Secret, I guessed it right away, too. The murderer just looked crazy guilty on the scene, and was WAY too insistent that Brad WAS HIS BEST FRIEND!!!!! I always FF over the opening and the title, as it often gives too much away.

I laughed when Austin was pillow smothering Mason. And without even bothering to properly shut the blinds. And like they would not be able to tell Mason had been smothered, and the guard saw Austin go in. The doctors in this hospital are not only organ-stealing and homicidal, but pretty damn stupid. And now I suppose otherwise medically scrupulous TJ will cover for a DOCTOR killing (or trying to kill) a patient! But hey, that's okay, cuz TJ is pretty sure Mason was mean to him! The Fiz stuff was... sappy. But at least they are finally going to consumate this thing after what seems like decades.

The bakers seem to be having a harder time last couple weeks. Probably a mix of the heat, all the stress, and some exhaustion setting in. (And never having enough time, of course.) Poor Rowan, that was painful to watch.

I've seen a few Father's Day cards just for that: Our relationship started off with a bang! Shot through the heart, and you're to blame, but you do not give love a bad name, Dad! My heart is full of love for you, Dad! (And a little shrapnel from your .38!)

What were the judges smoking during episode 3?! I cannot believe they put that student artist's "legs removed from body" thing through. It looked like when my young niece starts a drawing of someone, gets distracted, and then starts drawing again in another spot on the page! It has to be one of the worst I've ever seen on this show!

And let's not forget Portia should not even have a license as she put a innocent patient's life in danger cuz she wanted him to be able to testify for her baby girl. Also, why are Portia and Curtis dressed as cowboys to go eat sushi? Sonny to Dante: You and I have always had a special relationship. Um, really? Always? "Hey, remember that time I shot you in the chest ...good times!"

Michael is one totally fucked up megalomaniacal som' bitch if he thinks his blackmail demands to Nina will make for a healthy, respectful marriage to a woman who has already suffered so many liars, manipulators and controllers in her life. He doesn't know a goddamn thing about love.

No episode until Nov. 6 due to baseball.

Ugh, I've always liked Martin, and I thought he might redeem himself by telling Michael he recorded him, too! (Even if he was lying, Michael wouldn't know.) He could have said he would press charges for MIchael threatening him if he used the information. Instead, he totally trashes Nina in a really ugly way to counter-threaten Michael. Poor Laura, two loser brothers.

Sam to Cody after opening his gift of an ugly autographed softball: "Um, I think I'll put this in the family room closet where we can all share it." They are really dragging out this will she/won't she with Sasha leaving. I mean, do people care that much?! Her story has kind of run its course. All that is ahead of her is a forced relationship with Cody, and I don't really see the chemistry.

Billie is really eating up his role as head DS. In the UK version, they made Rudy head DS so I wonder why they went with Billie in the US. I guess Foxy has just never been mean enough to get the gig! 😘 I still kind of miss Ant from the original, but I see Ant is heading up the AU version now, which also includes Ollie, who was my favorite DS of all. This show must be a real money maker with all the different versions going on year-round. I tend to enjoy the non-celebrity one best, but I do like the snowy change up as I was getting sick of the desert! Is Tom Sandoval the one who was married to the woman who is currently on Dancing With the Stars? I don't know either of them, or who did what to whom, but I guess that is one way to make the most of one's divorce!

I am thoroughly enjoying this season, most teams, and the longer episodes, but oh my goodness was it hard to look at all those poor fish writhing and trying to breath. I don't judge the people or their culture, but I had to look away. I also totally thought they were foreshadowing the brothers leaving, but then their story went on long enough that I figured it had entered into reverse psychology foreshadowing red herring. 😁

Next week will be rough, losing two. I wonder what they would do if another baker fell ill for a week. They should get the same consideration to come back the following week, but they would not be able to keep that up. I wonder if there is some sort of official policy.
