In the episode "Inconceivable" she tells Eliot that she applied to adopt and was turned down because she was single and worked long hours. I get suspension of disbelief, but it was ridiculous how a family court judge just spontaneously decided to hand a baby over to Olivia on a "hunch".

You have to think that at some point during the ~ 2.5 months of training camp, she'd have realized it wasn't for her. She gets talked about because in 16 seasons, nobody has just quit after one preseason game. We see girls quit jobs, move to another country, try out multiple times, and spend years attending prep classes just to make the squad. It's unusual to see girls quit.

I always felt terrible for her. The "Lucid Dream" sequence looked like a producer setup. Possibly they found out her hobby was writing poetry, or they even convinced her that K&J were on the fence about cutting her. There are always girls like Rachel Buckmaster or Kalli Fullerton who accept that DCC wasn't for them and move on. Apparently, the damage done to Vivian with her experience with training camp ran very deep. Many of the girls from the dance/cheer community stay friends. Looking at Vivian's social media, it doesn't seem that she's friends with any DCC or Mavs dancers, or even former AA Ice Angels. I feel like her experience was so traumatic that she'd need professional help to recover. It's also possible her recent and very excessive weight gain is due to an emotional problem. It's fair to keep in mind that there are girls who never get over DCC. There's girls who cheered years ago who continually post pictures of themselves on the sidelines. Girls who cheered for a year or two a decade ago still have their DCC headshot as their social media profile.

I find it super weird that she cheered for the Patriots, was a PBC for the Patriots, and currently works for the Patriots, and still uses her DCC headshot on her IG. She only cheered like two games for DCC.

Stephanie Heyman. She's always been on top of my list of girls who never should have made it. Literally the night before the squad photo she was told she was too heavy to put on the field. The favoritism with that one was as bad as Victoria.

DAE find it weird that they never mentioned Toby the Stylist was a DCC for years?

It came across as though she was punished for not responding appropriately when she initially lost her spot. It's like they were allowing her to get back on SG by behaving the way they wanted. Kat on SG is a joke. She's not at all a technically trained dancer, and her media relations skills aren't on par with others. Ashley's cut was ridiculously dramatic. It's obvious her dancing isn't on the level it needs to be. The sad music and car pulling away literally looked like an exit from "The Bachelor". I get that they like her, but she wasn't good enough. The SG reveal was just weird. It's like they're looking for things to make better TV.

That scene seemed reminiscent of last year when Kelli brought in her pastor because one of the girls lost her friends in a plane crash. It's total grief whoring. It's not as if they knew this woman, or she worked for the organization. It's obviously sad that someone has cancer, but that was entirely out of place and awkward. It was odd when she said, "I don't know if you know my story, but I have Stage 4 colon cancer." She's a complete stranger, so how would they know? It sort of came across like they wanted to test the girls' reaction. Like, "You're auditioning for a dance troop, but let's interrupt the audition to see how you react to someone you don't know having cancer."

That scene was so obviously edited to make it look like he was saying he wouldn't hire a dancer who posted a video of herself making an obscene gesture.

S03:E05 Do You Hear What I Hear?
Route66 replied to txhorns79's topic in American Crime Story: S03 Impeachment
Yes she's alive. She obviously knew what was going on, but both at the time (in reality) and onscreen, she doesn't seem to care. She was a career secretary, and probably believed that her boss's personal affairs were none of her business. She seemed entirely disinterested in any sort of gossip or drama surrounding the Clintons. -
S03:E05 Do You Hear What I Hear?
Route66 replied to txhorns79's topic in American Crime Story: S03 Impeachment
She comes across as someone with a very low level of emotional intelligence. For all her practical experience and knowledge, she was unable or unwilling to "play the game." She seemed genuinely surprised that nobody at the White House valued her enough to have her work there. It was clearly incredibly painful for her to verbalize the fact that Monica was getting these fabulous job opportunities just because of Vernon Jordan. She was crushed to recognize the fact that nobody valued what she had to offer. -

At least Logan gives that tribute to Briscoe in "Diamond Dogs" where he references having had a partner who was a great pool player. -
Law & Order: Criminal Intent - General Discussion

My favorite CI lines will always be from "Stress Position": "Ungrateful biscuit eating son of a bitch." and "Collective" ""Is that when the light bulb went on? Saw what your life really was? Life of a loser. You know, pretending to be little vampires, hanging out in your vampire crypt, discussing your vampire books, having sad vampire sex in a plywood vampire box." -
What I missed from "Strange Fruit" was how Zeke's body got from the tree where he was hanged, to the playground? Other random question for CC fans. Why do the cops leave their guns in the lockers? Every other cop show, cops can be seen carrying firearms; on this show you can always see empty holsters.

No respect for any dog owner whose dog isn't spayed. IDGAF how cute puppies are, this is never necessary.

That post is just clickbait. It lists the Buffalo Jills who disbanded years ago, as well as the Green Bay Packers who don't have cheerleaders.

I hated having Barek quoting Goren. Goren wasn't her partner, Logan was. She obviously knew him but it would have made more sense for her to reference Mike if she was going to recall her time at Major Case.

Rachel is open about her conservatism, but it looked more like she was trying to save Claire. I know they're young but some of the girls' knowledge of current events is frightening. OTOH, it's unlikely they're going to be appearing at the opening of a spray tan salon or visiting sick kids and a random person will ask them who President Biden had considered putting on the ticket.
-
DAE just eyeroll over Claire sobbing about how great the Make A Wish foundation is? It's a great program, but why were they so enamored with her literally breaking down and sobbing over how her goal "as a woman" is to help others? It reminded me of the girl in an early season who said she'd call "Miss United States" if she had an hour left to live.

Didn't Victoria suggest she thought she might make show group the first time she tried out? She was gaining weight and would obviously have been cut early on if not for nepotism.
-
My thoughts exactly. There was no ambiguity or grey area here, Fin shot a man who was holding a knife on his child's neck.
-
Please elaborate.

Right. You hear about the ones that lasted. You rarely hear anyone recount how they "knew immediately he was the one" and wound up being wrong.

Obviously this perspective is based on editing, what the public sees, and what we believe to be true. I think Clare is a narcissist. I think Dale's major appeal for her was having lost his mother and writing about how it affected him. Losing a parent, especially at a young age can have an irreversible affect on one's psyche. It's not unusual for it to result in an outsized fear of being abandoned. I think as a narcissist, Clare's number one requirement for a partner is that he never leave. It's frankly weird that she goes on and on about her certainty that Dale will never leave, despite the fact they've gone through absolutely nothing together. There's zero empirical proof that he will stick by her; they have endured nothing together. She has no proof of how he'd deal with any difficulties. I think she intentionally chose a man whose background would bring about a fear of abandonment.

All Past Seasons of the Late Lamented Show
Route66 replied to ByTor's topic in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team
IIRC, she had made that costume herself and wore it to show them, the organization did not give it to her.
