  1. It's not. Maine is one party consent. It's just unfortunate that SVU writers don't have access to Google where they could check that. Olivia shared that scene with Maxwell because she repeated what Maxwell said to her at the conclusion of "The Steps We Can Not Take". The whole speech about how justice may be blind and how heartless she will be if the conversation comes back to haunt her. It was Liv's way of saying it's mutually assured destruction if Maxwell rats her out.
  2. Is anyone wondering why on OG they literally have an entire detective devoted to pulling up camera footage from everywhere in the city, and yet SVU does not have video of public parks, alleys, or hotels? Maybe Benson should call over to the 2-7 and ask to borrow their video lady. I hated how they were so obnoxious about Muncy's brother being a good CI. Would you rather he suck at it? Was he supposed to approach the bartender and just say "Hey. Can you maybe slip date rape drugs to some girls? I'll give you pictures and you call me when they're incapacitated. K?"
  3. Presumably she meant they should have turned over the doorman's testimony.
  4. They could have saved time by having her introduce herself like "I'm a single lesbian from the 4th precinct." It was awkwardly obvious to have her say "My wife and I started the basketball program" followed by "it outlasted my marriage." I wish the writers could use a bit of subtlety.
  5. Is anyone else tired of Jet being treated like the squad's little sister instead of a professional colleague? If anyone else got promoted they'd likely go out for drinks and toast. For Jet they get streamers and balloons and plan to hide and yell "surprise"? Also, what did she do to earn this?
  6. McCoy would have argued "Inevitable Discovery". After "Molineux" that was his biggest weapon.
  7. DAE think throwing in Jayne Mansfield was nonsense? She died in 1967, when Pence would have been maybe 5. A man with dementia would likely think of a model who was well known when he was in his teens or early twenties; possibly Farrah Fawcett or Heather Locklear.
  8. Probably anyone with knowledge of law or medicine or IT gets annoyed with blatant and obvious inaccuracies. I'm sure any cyber or tech professionals find Jet and/or TARU to be a joke.
  9. Ugh. Please someone else tell me they thought this was one of the worst episodes ever. I loathed the "Cold Case" style opening. The graphics of Pence dancing around on the moon while Saint Olivia read his bedtime story was horrible. Churlish makes an illegal recording and got angry at Velasco for looking into her background? I don't like her at all. And once again we see that everything Liv does is saintly and perfect and she passes judgement on anyone else not being "by the book". She can hide witnesses and cover up murders like in "Bonfires Vanity" but she bitchily tells Velasco she won't be his friend unless he turns in "Chili". I think I actually hated her by the end
  10. Can this show (and the franchise in general) please pick up some super basic knowledge of firearms? When Reyes is at the crime scene, he tells Bell "they really unloaded in this guy. 6 9m Full Metal Jacket casings." First off, a motorcycle gang that literally traffics guns would likely use something bigger than a 9mm. Second, using Full Metal Jackets to execute someone isn't "really unloading on him". You'd use hollow points which are what the LEOs have in their guns and what is used for self defense. A FMJ would require very specific shot placement, totally stupid for a drive-by. Lastly, there's no way the ejected shell casing would have wound up on the sidewalk. A 9mm handgun ejects casings backwards, they wouldn't move from the shooters car to the sidewalk.
  11. I did not understand how they were able to ask the minister about his conversation. Even if it wasn't privileged due to his position as a clergyman, isn't it hearsay?
  12. I think everyone thought that. Maybe bad editing or it was supposed to be a twist. Did anyone else think it was weird that she gave the tape to Muncy? What was the point in involving her?
  13. Terrible episode. Seamus is a high level mafia hitman but keeps his windows open to the point where Reyes can photograph him? Whose hand was that? Why was Jennings ring on it? A highly trained dog like that isn't going to stop eating because Eliott tells him. Bell reveals to Jett that Murphy killed "her partner". Jett then refers to him as "Jennings". How does she know his name? It was out of character for Jet to just fall apart when her wig came off. Lots of women wear wigs. Just giggle and say you like long hair. Where exactly was she carrying her firearm? She was wearing a cocktail dress. I'm also annoyed with the apparent ease that Jet can do anything electronic. You need a list of fake names and SS# for the bar employees? Oh sure I can knock that out by tomorrow afternoon. And not for anything, I've worked in a lot of bars and restaurants and never had the dishwasher had a social security number.
  14. I'm not sure if it's the multiple show runners or writing, but it makes no sense that they're putting Jet undercover, especially with a high up mobster. Initially she wasn't even let out of the office. She's shown in the preview claiming she "can play a part" but when she and Jamie are staking out the jewelry store, she visibly gets upset when he jokes about her dad not paying for the wedding. She later tells Jamie that her dad didn't pay for her wedding for real. If she can't keep her face neutral in a brief stakeout, how's she going to deal with Seamus?
  15. I think her purpose was to let Stabler know that Murphy was being protected from inside. She didn't trust anyone at the courthouse. I thought it was weird since Stabler didn't know her that she didn't show any identification. It was just "oh hi I work for the DA here's some coffee."
  16. Right? He's a violent felon. Is he that trustworthy?
  17. The lack of continuity in this show is annoying. A few episodes ago, we saw Reyes having been raised in foster care and now he has close family. Season 1 Jet wasn't even allowed out of the office and now she's everywhere including undercover romancing Seamus. This is nitpicky but Jet claims she "paid for school" dealing at Foxwoods. Unlikely as Foxwoods is in Connecticut where you'd need to be 21 to work in a casino. Why was she wearing a wig? Nobody would recognize her, so what's the point?
  18. I thought 100% when she went to pick him up that they'd be gone with the brother having kidnapped him or otherwise convinced him to go somewhere with him.
  19. I'm continuing to be annoyed by how writers for a crime show always screw up firearms handling. When Russo starts Russian Roulette with the Ada, he cocks the hammer and pulls the trigger, but after he fires the hammer doesn't come back up. Also, there's seemingly no end to how many shots they can fire without reloading. There's a scene where one detective asks "do you have an extra clip"? The correct term is "magazine", not clip. Ayanna saging the office was awful. That last scene should have been just Stabler and Bell pulling a bottle out of her desk and toasting.
  20. Didn't the mom use the name "Ada" and say "She was my best friend." That would suggest at least social transition. It was also never clear if the dad had known anything before the murder.
  21. This has also been done in every episode that involves a trans plotline. It's not believable that a middle aged cop from Queens suddenly effortlessly accepts that his son of 21 years was his daughter named Ada. It's also frankly impractical that the SVU squad immediately switched names and pronouns of a deceased victim. Would none of them ever just use the name and gender they knew when the crime was discovered? Additionally, I found the memorial service to be phony and overdone. SVU deals every day with tortured and murdered victims from all walks of life. Never are they seen drinking champagne and toasting other victims.
  22. Stabler was always like that when Cragen was Captain.
  23. Right? Especially since they were apparently fighting, meaning other customers and employees would see what was going on. If Aiden had been going there for years, wouldn't it make sense that he'd be recognized? And speaking of neighborhoods, while I understand artistic license, once again there's a 21 year old student living alone in a Manhattan apartment. Unrealistic.
  24. Too many small plot holes. Why did the school tell Carisi they were offering Rollins a job? She gave one lecture. It made no sense that everyone knew and kept saying they knew by calling her, "Professor". How did Rollins notice on grainy dive bar security tape footage that Aiden was presenting as female, yet the bartender who'd known him for years never recognized him? How did Aiden leave the bowling party and get nail extensions? Presumably they'd be polished, so how did dad remove the nail polish? If the killer was targeting transgender victims, why talk to Cora since he initially didn't know? And why would Cora disclose this to a stranger almost immediately? I get that the show is woke, but it strains credibility that dad goes from not knowing, to dealing with the trauma of finding his child murdered and knowing he committed a felony, to easily using "Ada" and "she".
  25. That last scene was just more forcing Saint Olivia on us. Ana wasn't hurt or angry about sleeping with Paolo, so there was no need to comfort her with his plea deal. Also, the mom taking the money made zero sense. They were already wealthy. She was literally covering up a crime by taking the money, which must be illegal. Why was Ana's dad not furious at his wife for taking the huge payout in exchange for letting Paolo get away with statutory rape.
