  1. Pretty much every reality tv show ever made has overstayed their welcome even if they only lasted one season. Everything from American Idol to Project Runway to Big Brother I just can't stomache anymore. I've always prefered competition based reality tv because at least some sort of talent is required but when talent takes a back seat to b.s. I'm done. In fact the only reality tv show I watch religiously is Rupaul's Drag Race. I'm kinda surprised Dr. Who keeps getting brought up. Since they change out doctors every few years it kinda keeps things refreshing. I will admit there are some drs. I like more than others but the story lines change with each doctor so idk, it keeps me engaged.
  2. ITA! It just seems like it was shoehorned in as an after thought. As if the writers just scribbled something in to shut the viewing audience up. Lafayette is the only character that I actually like on this God forsaken show and I think he deserves more than simply finding a new guy to do drugs with. Give him something to do!
  3. Has anyone mentioned Mystery Science Theater 3000? LURVED that show & yeah we have the rifftracks now but they aren't the same as the Mike or Joel and the bots rippin'. I liked Earth 2 as well. I mainly watched it because of Clancy Brown but I enjoyed the other characters as well.
  4. R.I.P Alcide. I wish I cared more about this show to give you a proper cry for your death but all I could muster was enh. You date an imbecile like Sookie this is whats gonna happen. Poor Maxine, I was actually more bummed by her death than anything else. Eric + french chick = zzzzzzzzzz
  5. I think it will be similar to how Proteus was; at first she won't remember her life before she died but after going out into the streets or seeing a picture or something it will begin to jog her memory and bit by bit it will comes back to her. Ha! I would love to see the classic bride of frankenstein hairdo as well but figuring they didn't put bolts in Caliban or Proteus' neck or give either one of them a flat head (tee hee hee) I don't think we'll see the shreiking, crazy hair from Brona.
  6. I think we are to assume it went down as it does in the book and movies...Johnathan Harker fist falls victim to Dracula and when Dracual sees a picture of Mina or Mina herself (depending on which movie you watch) he wants her as his bride/lover....lures her in with his "charm", bites her and thus begins her turn towards the dark side. Mina was always seen as the queen vampire if you will, the one Dracula truly wants. Or at least thats how I saw it to be.
  7. I thought this as well. It was almost a mercy killing so I can't really hate Dr. F too much. I still would love to know how he plans on keeping this from Ethan. Eventually Caliban is going to want to take his new bride outside and since everyone seems to run into everyone else in London....I don't know, maybe he was hoping that Caliban and Mrs. Caliban were just gonna ship off to another city? All in all a terrific ending to a terrific season. I must admit I shed a tear or two when Malcom and Vanessa were talking about putting up a Christmas tree this year. It just spoke volumes of the mess they are in without slapping us, the viewing audience, across the face with it. Yeah the thing about Ethan being a werewolf was kinda a given but still the reveal was spectaular! If just for a second it was still pretty scary. I just thank beejeesus they didn't do that corny CGI wolf stuff like they do on True Blood.
  8. Do you mean when will the next season begin? I would assume end of Jan. as usual. 7 months away...
  9. Personally I would like to see Hedda Lettuce, even though she said she would never do the show. Also I would like to see Vicky Vox on there simply to round out the DWV group. I'm not familiar with alot of drag queens & I'm not part of the drag scene so I don't know alot of them; the ones I've metioned I've either seen on youtube or follow their blogs. What I've heard thru the rumor mill is that filming has recently begun for S7 so they've already got their gurls together.
  10. I was under the assumption that he was a grave robber, similar to the movies, or got the dead bodies other ways in the guise of medical purposes and simply stitched the parts together. I seem to remember Proteus had stitching on his chest giving the indication that he had been sewn together. I guess with Brona he can simply use another set of lungs from someone that has already passed. Dr. F is alot of things but straight up murder just isn't one of them. Yeah its Tuberculosis or T.B. But having the scars does add to the creepiness of it all. As far as Mina goes if she is a vampire then shooting her wouldn't actuall "kill" her would it? Or was that bullet silver? Maybe we'll see her (and her story line again).
  11. I remember this actor from the 90's. He seemed to get type cast as the teenage rebel with a heart of gold type of guy. I was worried that's all I would see in this show but praise beejeesus I see him as he is suppose to be! I am so impressed with his acting abilities so far and he is my favorite character on the show!
  12. Haha! I was waiting for his experiments to be mentioned but it wasn't. I guess they were going for whatever would embarrass Dr. F the most *shrug* and I guess being a 20-30 something virigin is more humiliating than reassembling a corpse. I do kinda wish Dr. F wasn't so young. I can understand why he is for storyline purposes but there is a part of me that wishes he was as he is on Once Upon a Time. The actor that portrays him on OUAT is such a cutie!
  13. I too was a bit "oh here we go again" with the Vanessa being possesed bit again but it was done nicely with many twists & turns in character revelations and was just acted so beautifully that it didn't seem dull or "oh this again" type of scene. But one thing I don't understand is Ethan mentioned that they had been staying with Vanessa for a week during the span of the episode. A week?! Did Ethan just leave poor Bronan hacking up her lungs while he tended to Vanessa? Not that he shouldn't have stayed with Ms. Ives (since he can apparently perform an exorcism as well) but idk, just seemed out of character to me. Honestly lately everything he does is out of character though. He's a latin spewing, devil removing, bisexual werewolf?!
  14. That's what I was wondering as well! I was thinking he was resistant of taking it because it was silver but I don't know. If I remember correctly he was wearing some sort of glove wasn't he *shrug* so maybe that's something....I too was surprised by Ethan & Brona's confession of love but enh it was sweet either way. And I was pleasantly surprised by Malcom's show of kindness in offering to pay for a private treatment facility. I love it when a character suprises me with unexpected kindness, it seems to add depth to who they are. I also like the idea that it's Vanessa in the portrait Dorian has. As far as Dorian's appeal goes, to me he isn't what I would consider out right handsome but he has that confidence and just air about him that is attractive. Intellegent, well rounded, and while not out right mean but somewhat mysterious those are all attractive and kinda dangerous traits that would make him more appealing.
  15. Shut the front door! 31, really? Ohh, thanks for the tip. So is thats what happening on the tv show? All his naughtiness is being transfered onto the painting? I guess we'll find out in time.
  16. I've never read the book A Portrait of Dorian Gray but from what I've heard he can't look at the portrait or it will age him (I believe it was suppose to be a portrait of himself). I guess wikipedia would have more info but yeah I guess they are going away from the story on that. Honestly I just wish Dorian Gray was a bit older....and maybe a little better looking. I really liked the actor that portrayed Dorian Gray in the movie League of Extrodinary Gentlemen. Someone like that might have suited better; this kid looks like he should still be in highschool.
  17. Maybe Sembene doesn't recognize the title of Sir? I don't know but to me it does seem like he is more of an assistant than a servant. I'm not exceptionally familar with African culture but if I remember correctly the markings on his face mean he is an important man in tribe. He's either killed someone/something that was a great threat or somehow has earned the high respect of the community. Either way he isn't just any ole' person that has simply decided to come to London with Malcom. What I'm curious about is Ethan's connection with Vanessa. He seems to have a blind devotion to her and I can't remember a time when that devotion was warranted or validated. Did I miss something? Did she do something to warrant this? I kinda want to say it's simply the experiences they've shared together but Ethan has shared those with every cast member almost, what is it about her that he sees special? Psychic powers, wolfies senses? Not that I'm complaining. Lord knows Vanessa needs someone in her corner right now. It seems everybody wants something from her and Ethan is the only one wanting to protect her (I believe anyway). It's a nice friendship. Good grief the poor girl seems to get possesed by the damn devil every episode now.
  18. From what I gathered she's always had the "bad seed" inside of her--after seeing her mother and Sir Malcom going at it in the maze I think that might have triggered something inside of her and let her dark side take over so to speak. She seemed to be in a constant battle within herself to give into the serpent (devil I guess he's considered) and staying on the straight and narrow. If this show is going by the book and popular movies then Mr. Harker is either dead or too far gone amoung the vampires to be saved, I think anyway. From what I remember Mr. Harker was taken first by Dracula and then its Mina who either is next or saves the day depending on which movie you see. My guess is that Vanessa and Sir Malcom have already tried to get in contact with Johnathan Harker with no success--something that has either happened off screen or will be brought up in a later episode.
  19. I haven't heard of an AHS type of setup where it's completely different story lines each season. I would guess there will be a continuation of the original story. As I am quickly learning from Penny Dreadful things aren't always what they seem so while I agree they can only go so far with Dracula lord knows they can stretch the vampire story out--look at True Blood
  20. So there will only be 8 episodes this season? Darn! The season is half done already
  21. A little something here, first Penny Dreadful has been picked up for a second season! YAY! And here are some screen shots for episode 7. Looks like Ethan is givng the good doctor Frankenstein some shootin' lessons. http://www.spoilertv.com/search/label/Penny%20Dreadful
  22. True and if we are going to be very specific it's Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Ethan Chandler isn't a doctor of any sort.
  23. I really LOVE this idea! I love anything sideshow/carnival related and I am a bit of carny history buff. I just hope Ryan Murphy stays somewhat true to the art of carnies and how things where back in the 50s. I know he has a tendancy to sensationalize stuff simply to make it more enjoyable/gruesome/compelling for the viewing audience.
  24. Did you notice that when the vampire/Dracula was attacking Murray Victor stood there frozen like a statue. Poor guy. I like Victor, I really do, but yeah he isn't cut out for fighting. I guess because he is so accustomed to working with the dead? I don't believe though that Murray thinks Chandler is simply a finger on a trigger. Wow--Chandler as the Jekyll/Hyde character?! Interesting but it doesn't explain his connection with the wolves in the zoo. That has to mean something.
